I awoke with your arms still wrapped around me,
As if the love you held within refused to let me go.
It's sweet mornings like this that confound me-
How can a heart love so much and not seem to know?
Your eyes settle continuously on my pale cheeks,
I can feel these probing looks from across the room.
I can't help but wonder then what you want from me;
I fear that it's love, but it's too early to assume.
I know, when my head is free from slumber's clouds,
We aren't the type of hearts that should be matched.
But here beneath the covers, don't make a sound
And perhaps what our fingers will stay attached.
