General Data

1. Rare fish can be hooked with ANY rod.

2. You CAN catch more than 1 rare in the same account. (I've caught 3.)

3. So far as we know, A and D level bait can trigger a lucky bucket.

4. However, it's possible using A level bait specifically, has a GREATER chance than D bait. This is just a theory though based on my experiences.

5. All rares DO NOT move like trash. Each rare species has a specific movement unique to it. It is also possible that each specific rare kind has a unique movement, just like the regular fish.

6. You have a 25% chance of hooking a rare, IF you have the lucky bucket. Chances are, it will be in the first 4 slots, if not the first row, so long as you don't loose any fish. If you loose a lot of fish, it will keep coming back until you do catch it (or you finish the bucket without catching it but anyways), meaning it might possibly not show up until the second row or so, but this is highly unlikely, because, if you loose a lot of fish, then personally, chances are you don't have the skill to catch a rare yet ((Personal opinion, sorry)).

Reported Movements

Bass'ken rares: have been reported to move like fast striper. One fisher described a Guppa as moving like a "gray striper on 'roids" and another as "a tuna in bass'ken". General consensus is that bass'ken rares are fairly fast. Cannot be mistaken for trash.

Gambino Rares: have been reported to move like seedkin. More specifically, blue seedkin. General consensus is that they are easy to catch. Cannot be mistaken for trash.

Durem Rares: have been reported to move like boldurs, trash AND pebbos. Need more reports from new fishing version onwards to confirm. My own emerald moved like a black pebbo, I couldn't even tell it was a rare. ((Personally, cannot mistake it for trash, but since that old rumor about moving like trash exists, I'll leave it in for now)).

Thanks for posting this here, it saves us all the time of going to the fishing forum for those of us who don't have this information memorized. (Thankfully I do sweatdrop ) But once again, thanks.

Click on my "Got Rare" link in my Sig. and that thread has some very good information and up-to-date statistics for rares. Even though I have yet to catch a true rare, Boldurs and such are nothing. I catch those all the time. If anything the Rare Report will make you feel more confident about the chances of catching true rares.

Your missing something big!

using F bait in two fishing sessions will practicly make it impossible to catch rare fish after the 2 F bait when you use A bait. If you fish with F bait all the time you need to wait 12 hours until the 25% is back for you.

I hook rares but i always lose them gonk (i memerized patterns)
