i have heard several people say that bush is trying to make anime illegal....
everyone seems to either go along with it or dispute it, but is it actually true?
just wondering who has heard what...

He is NOT. It's just a rumor.

And besides...actual pornography is more likely to get banned first. It never will of course but it stands a better chance then all of anime.

I dont think He could do it if he tried. I think that anime is a type of speech, so It be against some ammendment or another

he was probably speaking out against it and the way it is corrupting children since he is a dumbass southern christian.
Allow me to delete your copy poll. An accident I hope. stare
It had better be evil or else I will release the rabid weasels.

I doubt he really knows what anime even is let alone has any real interest doing away with it. Most people his age either don't know what anime is...or don't care.

It's just a rumor created to give people another reason/excuse to hate him.

id think it would be a rumor because i think he has a little more to worry about then anime

ok... don't bring religion into this... i'm catholic and a big anime fan, it doesn't have anything to do with religion, it has to do with personal beleifs, and yes there is a difference...

and ya, the copy was a mistake, thanks...

ya... i think that might cause a second civil war with the otaku uprising.... as funny as it sounds, watching a bunch of fat geeks in samurai suits getting shot by the army.... i would still hate the ban of anime.... that would be like running out of air at 100 feet and having no partner or tiny tank (i can't remember what they're called)

Its not because he is Christian, just ((He is a yuppie! I don't even know how the hell they let him Govern us ((TX)) let alone the country!))

He is stupid and isn't making his profit from it. If he was trying to ban it that is why. USA=Money hungry. If it doesn't make the money we want then it isn't good for us.

If he was, it would be because he is a catholic. I find that bush seems more "religion" driven and "personal goals" driven than he is "good for the country" driven.
America makes tons of money from anime, since we are getting something that Japanese mae and modifying it a little, then adding new soundtracks, excellent profit.

George Bush is not Catholic. He is a Methodist.

And I'd like to quote the following...

Quote:

Bush is NOT banning anime. You don't need to drag religion into this as use it as a tool to speculate why he would do something he's not going to do (and at the same time perpetuate an ongoing, untrue stereotype).

regardless of specifics, Bush is a christian and uses that as a basis for all his movements in the Presidency. I think most of what he has chosen to do in the office time he has had, was based on his religion or his history. I don't think he pays much attention to the state of the nation, otherwise his "State of the Union" speeches would be much worse sounding than they are now. The state of the union, from my view is thus:
"We are all f***ed people. In 15 years, most of the working age people won't be able to do more than add single digits and write more than simple prose. The age of literature and arts is dead. Modern music is repititious and unoriginal. Art is simply slamming some hunks of stuff together or splashing paint on a canvas and calling it a representation of your chaotic soul. Modern writing has cookie-cutter plot and simplistic characters. you have to dig to find a person with an original plot and even okay characters. They are rare to find, and even rarer to find in one book.
The education system is shot to hell. We spend so much time trying to figure out how to fix things and where people are educationally, we have forgotten to teach them.
We spend so much time thinking of new ways to sell something, and what to buy next, that we have forgotten about everything else in life other than objects. "Money can't buy love" is the old saying. Lets live by it. Go outside and play with your kids instead of watching TV with them and buying them games and toys. Walk your dog. Smell the roses.
good day everybody and remember: We are declining, I'm leaving before we hit the bottom."
