So, she beats Jiraiya to within an inch of his life for peeking on her, beats up Naruto with a single finger for being himself and yet she doesn't wollop Shikamaru for being an a**. D: God damnit Tsunade, call out the ANBU for soldiers like that!

We also see Ibiki being his normal... Though overtly dramatic self. xD Can't wait till we see Anko again tooo~ <3

Kakashi joins Team 10 with the fun of hunting down Akatsuki! yay?

And finally, Shikamaru's killing himself to keep a memory alive... >_> Sounds fishy, watch him run to Orichi to learn that Impure Summoning Technique to call back Asuma with his own life sacrificed. xP

I think it was kind of... poorly exectuted. If she really wanted them to stay, Tsunade culd have made them.

But no, team 10's too ugly for her, so they gotta die.

actually, if they had left without her permission and without kakashi stepping in, the woulda been considered Missing Nin....and technically be like Itachi...except they didnt kill their clan/family......and best friend......even tho he's uber cool....but yeah, I don't think she woulda stopped them even if kakashi hadnt shown up....AND WTF!!!!! NARUTO DIDNT' MAKE AN APPEARANCE crying crying crying that blows!!! they'll end up making the next 24 hours in the manga take like 10 chapters or soemthin..........

Ah, Shikamaru. So loyal to the memory of Asuma. Nice to see him keeping the memory alive.

And yeah, I'm starting to have issues with Tsunade's politics. I love the fact that we've got ourself a female leader, but I wish she was allowed to put her foot down more. On the other hand, Tsunade seems to have some sort of bigger plan going, so maybe she's just going with the flow? You can't micromanage everything, after all. I guess she trusts Shikamaru's judgement. With Kakashi along, team 10 has both the brilliant mind, the heavy firepower, the experiance and the excelent teamwork. It'll be tough to beat.

Also, can I just say that I love that Kakashi is working with a totaly different team? As nice as the genin teams are, I think flexibility and addaptability is more of an issue. It's nice to see people working with groups other than the ones they started out with (Kishimoto! Stick Neji in with some new people would you?) I've heard the anime filler does this sort of thing, but Universal Law dictates that Filler = sucky, so I havn't bothered watching those.

I don't think she has a big underlying plan for them. She seemed pretty adamant about them not going. But yeah, she really has the ability to make them stay put, but didn't for some reason. They could escape during the middle of the night, sure, but they could also be held under watch until they cool down. I don't know what was up with that.

YES Neji needs to chill with someone else now, even though I love team Gai.

Shikamaru keep loosing cool points.

Fight prediction: The battle begins with another surprise Shadow Bind Technique from Shikamaru with a follow up of Mind Body Switch Technique or a new tewchnique from Ino on Hidan effectively immobilizing him. Kakuzu escapes Shikamaru’s technique, but Choji and Kakashi join the fight and square off against Kakuzu. Choji, after a small skirmish with is defeated by Kakuzu, but Kakashi uses the Sharingan to stay one step ahead of Kakuzu. Something unexpected happens, and team 10 (featuring Kakashi) are now fighting a loosing battle. Team 7 appears just as thing seem hopeless and Naruto uses his new technique to defeat Kakuzu while Haiden is immobilized and captured.

I think it goes with Tsunade's whole principle that if people have a personal stake in something, they'll go farther, and accomplish things others can't. It's why she's letting Naruto run all over the place. Because Naruto's dreams and will push him to go farther, and he manages to accomplish things other people can't. Maybe she feels like she should extend that to Shikamaru?

I don't think she has a major plan for Shikamaru's team, but I think she's got something in place for Akatsuki. Her words at the end of the chapter were "It all starts now." That sounds an awful lot like something you'd say when you begin some grand scheme. I'm hoping that's the case, anyways. I wanna see some brilliant tactics.

And I want some specialist teams! Ino and Hinata would make a fantastic little espionage/infiltration duo, for example. Maybe throw Shino in there with them. Ah, Kishimoto. . . please, make use of the wide variety of characters? You do a pretty good job, but you need to work harder!
