Wow, TS1 is harder than I remembered.....O_o

Right, so last night I got bored.

Rather than playing TS2, I decided to go "old school" and play TS1. ((Besides, I have to do too much work before I play TS2. Shutting down background tasks and whatnot, so it can play better))

So, I create a sim.

10 neat points.
5 outgoing points.
5 active points.
0 playful points.
5 nice points.

((i have an obsession with 5's and 10's. xd ))

So, I build the house, blah, blah, blah.

After the first day, things got so hard to control. My social need plumeted, along with the fun need. I had to use the bathroom every hour, and I was always hungry.

Now, some of you are probably thinking "Well, just socialize and watch TV".

Well, I did.....but socializing did CRAP, and it took so long for my fun to go up, regardless of what I did.

And another thing, I had the most expensive furniture and items. So tell me why my comfort need always plumeted?

I mean, TS1 was harder than I remembered. O_o




So discuss:

TS1 being harder than TS2.
Which you like better.
TS1 having fast-dropping needs.
How being a single sim in TS1 is NOT FUN.
The nostalgia of playing TS1.
Anything else related.

I hate socializing in TS1, cause I always get negative responses.

It's possible that one of the reasons that the Fun took so long to go up was because of the zero playful points. Even on TS1, Sims with few playful points didn't have fun as easily. Though reading or playing chess might have worked...I don't really remember. I find TS1 too hard to go back to because I can't zoom right in and spin all around.

Ah, the joys of a fully 3D world in Sims 2. There's no way I could go back to playing the original Sims. I tried as well because my old laptop at university couldn't run Sims 2 so I installed the original instead. It was murder and so boring without having wants and fears to fulfill.

`I have a really good computer, {I just got it May '06} and Sims runs so crappy on it.
It crashes a lot.

It's so frustrating to not zoom in and spin around. I also hate how the "spin around" buttons are opposite in TS1. ((For example, clicking left actually rotates right))

The Sims one was much harder in those terms. I was watching a video review of TS2 on IGN before buying the game and it mentioned how the needs were improved, and they were.

Becase really, it never made sense that sitting watching TV, then getting up to eat dinner would completely plummet your comfort meter. In TS2, my comfort has NEVER had to be fufilled, because it naturally is.

And someone mentioned how the socializing always got negative responses, I agree! I remember being so fustrated with that! And keeping and making friends was nearly impossible!

I don't see how that cheat would've helped me, seeing as it only allows you to move and place objects wherever you want.

What you have to do is delete your Sim, and click on it's face. All the bars will be green. Just be sure to save the game every time before you do, because your sim will lose their skills they learned.

Plus, using the Complete collection is more fun.

i would always use the move objects cheat then delete my sims, when i clicked their picture they came back (but had to save first cuz the new skills would be gone....) so it wasnt that hard for me!
i dont play it much since the sims 2, but i have a few times 3nodding

I am forced to play sims 1 instead of sims 2 cause Sims2 takes about 4 hours to load.

It takes too long to do anything I can only manage one sims successfully two if I push it

Yeah, the sims 1 is harder, 'cuse there are less cheats you can use.
