idea In the world of writing many believe Poetry to be the touchstone of excellence in Literature. What do you believe--Prose or Poetry? Personally, I believe excellence to be a relative term. I mean grandma's bisquits and gravy are excellence--unless you think your grandma's bisquits and gravy are excellence. But then, we're not talking about bisquits and gravy are we? Anyway, there is little argument that when done right, excellent Poetry, says it best, with less effort. However, if a poem is forced, the effort simply uses up space on a blank page. After all, forced Poetry is like eating cardbroad--filling, but utterly useless. I would like to hear other opinions. This is not a challenge, I simply want to discover who is listening.

The exact same can be said of prose, wrt quality and whatnot.
Poetry > Prose in all respects.
