Personally, I liked the story, but in my opinion, I feel that there were too many made-up words. One of the main reasons I like reading is because I enjoy learning new words that I can worm in to an everyday conversation. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you think saying "That movie was real horrorshow" would be a tad bit confusing?
I enjoyed this book, and it gave me a great insight as to what violent children feel, however the horrendous slang used throughout the book sort of distracted me from the whole topic in question.

I give it a 9.

Upon further research, I have discovered that Alex's horrendous grammar is actually a made-up language called Nadsat based upon Russian dialect.
But it's still confusing.

He modeled the book Ulysses after the Odyssey, to some degree.

My teacher is extremely excited that we're all reading "The Odyssey" for class. She gives us handouts, so I cannot go ahead. The version that my teacher passes out, is, according to her, the best one their is. xD The main character's name is Ulysses in the book we're reading, but in the movie we are going to watch, his name is Odysseus. :3 heart
We're only at the Keeper of the Winds part, so I can't wait until we read to the spider part!! blaugh *feels over-excited* xD

Homer wrote The Odyssey. It's not the same as Ulysses.

Ulysses just borrows structural elements from it.

Also, for those that don't understand the title of A Clockwork Orange, it isn't really an orange. Orange is actually a pun on Orang, Malay for 'person.'
