Gateway
Three columns, pillars, reach towards the sky,
Creating the pathway while clouds fly by,
The way lies dormant and concealed,
The road to Heaven is unrevealed.
A sacred altar, holiest shrine,
Salvation located within the Divine.
Perhaps souls gather here within this place,
Waiting to be welcomed in by Grace.
The seal cracks open, to Heaven or Hell,
Oblivious to those who rose or fell.
Into the light or into the flames,
Unknown they are, without names.
Lonely souls, silent, leaving
Without memory or one for grieving.
They are the forsaken, forgotten ones,
Ignored, degraded, by humans shunned.
Surrounded by water, this secluded isle,
Provides spirits with their final trial,
Who, passing on, leave but a single thing,
Discover the gateway to discover your wings.

Someone asked me to write this based on a picture... I don't remember how long ago.
