I wrote this a LONG time ago. Approximately 4 years, I believe. It got published in a book of poetry of youth.

Someone

I just wanted someone to share the sunset with,
Someone to know the life that I live.
I just wanted someone to share the moon and the stars,
The celestial beings and the heavens afar.

One who understands the pain that I felt,
The suffering and the damage dealt.
One who comprehends love as I do,
One who would share my point of view.

Of war and of glory, of chaos and strife,
The process of death and life within life.
The truth of the heart lies deep inside,
Where emotions are rough as the incoming tide.

When day rises again, overcoming the night,
When engulfing darkness is pierced by the light,
Hark to the voices of the innumerable dawn choir,
As I dream and reminisce of the one I desire.

Inspiring yet I have to say that I don't agree with the last word..'desire'
It didn't seem to fit but it is just my opinion.

Nice poem, by the way.

I understand that, as I sometimes read a bit differently from others. Thank you for commenting. biggrin I seem to be devoid of strong emotions lately. All but two of my poems are written at least a year ago.

I found it to be a fine piece of poetry. Great rhyming scheme. Thanks for sharing.
