Honestly, I really hate it. What is it? Well, I would really have to go into a lengthy explanation. Quote: darkangelgirl328: Indeedy. Do. Kurama3333: Yeppers Kurama3333: So now I jus tgotta try to make a simple typo Kurama3333: To show why its so non-important darkangelgirl328: lol Kurama3333: Aha, and I just did What is wrong with that? Besides the fac tthat there may be minor punctuation missing- but its AIM, so its natural that hitting the enter key is the same as entering a period. The typo. My point is the typo. Now, can you still understand the sentence? YES. Is it something that throws the entire sentence off? NO. So my point is, this is a Gaian Grammar Guild, yes, but its not a typo excellente' guild. The only thing that peeves me more than someone with horrible grammar, is someone who freaks out over the SIMPLEST typo. Besides, making a typo isnt a grammatical error, its eithe ra hand-eye coordination error, or something else. If you want to get literal.. a typo is a typographical error. Therefore, not a grammatical error. Chat about this. No fighting or anything over it, please. This is just like a 'share youre peeves' thread.

Finally someone says it! I was starting to have second thoughts about this guild. After all, almost everyone in it comes off as a grammar nazi despite the claim that we are not grammar nazis.
But... I do not claim to be perfect. I am irritated not by what is written, but what is said. I have many friends who have trouble pronouncing simple words. One of my friends in particular has trouble. To him, tomb is tome and aura is aurora. I don't know why, but it bugs the crap out of me.

Simple typos are no big deal, but when an entire post is misspelled or in "1337 sp3@k" it does get annoying and difficult to understand. But people shouldn't wig out over the little stuff.

Asgard_Seven: Yes, but maybe thats just the way their brain is. I am actually learning that things liek that are tied into learning at under 5 years of age. Maybe his parents never said words like those to him, so he never 'caught' how to STOP saying part of it (as in the aura-aurora state), or hwo to go further with them (as in the tomb-tome state). Ah yes, it does annoy me as well, but when I know what theyre saying, I either correct them and they buff it off or correct thenmselves, or I leave it be and they will correct themselves. (I actually happen to have a friend that studders (stutters? Ive never spelt it before), and its quite shocking really. Not so much cus hes a good friend and we know what hes goign to say, but he will often get stuck on a word. He doesnt studder in commonly thought sense, he studders (sp?) like this: I just thouuuuuuu...ou.......ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu uuuuuuuuuuuuuuu uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu guh guh guh ght, thought, that it was goignto be next Thursday. (Imnot meaning ot be rude,or mean, or anything, just telling it like it is. Hes a really nice guy). It sliek he gets stuck on the word, literally. Sometimes its funny, and even he laughs at it.
Chillbear247: Yes, thast what I am trying to convey here. Nothing peeves me more than having some 'goody too shoes' PM me with a 'You mispelled something! You types soemthing! PLEASE CORRECT IT!" message.

The only time I act like a grammar nazi is when it is really ironic or a very idiotic post. Emopikminshallruleoverall I just love doing that XD. But that's the only time I do it. I never correct anyone in real life. It's the rudest thing to say/do(other than show them the "birdie").

xD AHAHAHAHAH Thats so funny! Yes I love it when people mistake those similar words and its so obvious. One of my friends has a problem with the theyre/their/there thing though. When hes working hard on homework, he'll type to me and he will often make that mistake. Thast how I knwo if hes really busy.

I understand typos and I also understand that not everyone's great at spelling, but sometimes it does bug me - mainly when there's several mistakes in the same sentence. I don't correct people, though. Not unless I'm editing something for them.
Virtually none of my friends know how to properly use its/it's, your/you're, there/their/they're. It wouldn't drive me so bonkers if it was just a couple of people I know who did it, but really all of my friends do it.

People make mistakes. It has/will/does happen. Shrug it off and go on. Unless, it's something serious. If it's someone typing leet or they get all their words wrong on purpose, then I will yell.

It only bugs me if it's really, really bad. I type "anywya" instead of "anyway" sometimes, and it gets annoying if it's every single time. If someone writes "teh," it might be an honest mistake. However, "t3h" is not.
Some people do need to lighten up idea

I can't say anything about spelling words wrong...my spelling sucks. I'm not like my sister who will correct you in the middle of a sentence as you're speaking. I do, however, read what my sister is typing when she IM's people. That is the only time I correct her and even then it's just a spelling error that makes the word completly different...
