Seriously...Would you knit this?

I have a SNB calendar featuring tips, helpful websites and a fresh new pattern every friday. As you can imagine New Pattern fridays is right up there next to Grey's anatomy nights. (yes, I have no life...) So imagine my suprise when I eagerly turn back thursday's page only to find a pattern for a:
A Valentine Thong!! eek

Unothadox...perhaps...but I just had to wonder...would you knit yourself/signifigant other a thong?

My friends mother knitted her daughters boyfriend a pink sparkelly g-string for christmas once.
My friend was 16.
My friend and her boyfriend were not having sex for religios reasons.
My friends parents were religious.

apparently it was part of some long running joke that I never understood.

While never having knit a thong, I've knit a g-string for an ex once. *snicker* It was a colorway that made the thing look tiger striped. Man, I wish I'd gotten a picture of that.

Um, I don't think I'd knit underwear, mostly because my bf would burst something laughing if I did biggrin

Cotton? Wool would be a very bad thing I think, but there are all kinds of fibres you could use.

See, I wouldnt BUY a thong much less MAKE one. At least not for myself or my boyfriend. Though believe me the edible undies have been tempting at times... stare (no you dont want to know)

i'd never wear one, nor would i make one for myself... Though a while ago, when my girlfriend was bothering me about telling her what i was doing (while i was working on her v-day prezzie), i told her i was knitting a thong.

and my knitting friend and i joke about it. but its never in anything more then jest.

I've threatened to knit my husband a p***s cozy. He (jokingly) said only if it was pink. I replied that was what the pattern called for.

I actually thought about it....i did knit this out of cotton for my husband (haven't finished sewing it), and i thought a thong would go perfectly with it...
i was knitting it at school and everyone asked me what i was knitting...i had to tell them "a top"...otherwise i would get strange looks....
