The Catcher and the Rye by J. D. Salinger? I think it's the greatest book I've ever read. It was written around the late 1950's and it seems he understands how a modern teenager feels. We've lost the traditional feeling and I think it's for the best. We can't put our faith into something we're not sure exists. So we shouldn't even bother with it, what do you think?
