i like the manga ending the best. because ruroni kenshin is a shonen manga, it supposed to end happily. thats just how it is. and all good authors leave questions unanswered. do you want every story to end with everyone dying like in a martin scorsesy flick?

I liked the manga ending because in the manga, it didn't run off and leave his family. That's just ridiculas. I don't mind too much of the way the OVA killed him off, as a character, Kenshin would have preferred a peaceful death. If it weren't for the whole "I'm going to wander again to go and help and suffer with the people" thing, the OVA would have been pretty good.

I liked the manga ending more. It was just happier and seemed more Kenshin-y lol The anime just...ended. No closure what-so-ever, and the OVA ending was sad...it just didn't fit Kenshin.

The OVA ending was complete bullshit. Kenshin as Watsuki wrote him would never turn his back on his wife and child to seek atonement through "suffering as the people do". If he needed to atone further, he would find a way to do it that wouldn't hurt his family. Throughout the manga Kenshin learns that throwing away his life is not the answer to repenting for his crimes. Yes, he did attach his answer to the Sakabatou, but in YNS and Haru ni Sakura, we see Kenshin carrying a new sword on his hip after giving up the Sakabatou. That doesn't seem like the action of a man who's planning to leave to wander again. As everyone in this guild well knows, I could go off on a diatribe about the wrongness of Seisouhen, but I'll spare you guys that and just leave a link to my long essay.

i guess ur rite =/ after killing tomoe he had promised he would never cause someone he loved pain. and he left his family.. plus I guess kenshin would never willingly give someone his disease =/ the only problem i have with the manga is that it left everything so open in the end. there were so many unanswered questions

RisSohma i guess ur rite =/ after killing tomoe he had promised he would never cause someone he loved pain. and he left his family.. plus I guess kenshin would never willingly give someone his disease =/ the only problem i have with the manga is that it left everything so open in the end. there were so many unanswered questions I've heard people say that before. I never understand what's left open. Kenshin settles down, marries Kaoru and they have a kid. The others all go off and live their own lives. What questions are left unanswered?

I'm not fond of the anime simply because the last season has nothing to do with the RuroKen storyline. The manga, however, rocks my socks! whee

Not.So.Little I'm not fond of the anime simply because the last season has nothing to do with the RuroKen storyline. The manga, however, rocks my socks! whee Neither am I, but I'm wondering if they were forced into a position to animate fillers or if they could have waited for the Jinchu to animate again. Anyway, the OVA didn't have much to do with the anime. As a matter of fact, I found that Reflections completely ignored Rurouni Kenshin. I wasn't pleased with it's ending.
*SPOILER WARNING*
It seemed that Kenshin lost a side of him I saw in the anime, and was always depressed. It just wasn't him. And it pained me to see him suffer and die that way.

I'd have to say I'm more fond of the Jinchuu manga ending that I am of the season 3 fillers or Reflections.
Personally though, I don't like the OVA animation, I think it isn't... how to say it... manga-esque enough. Okay, let me clarify -- the OVA animation is well done, and beautiful, but I prefer the style that's more manga-esque.
Now I'm ranting. >.< But.... Jinchuu FTW!

I believe in Jesus Christ, my Savior. If you do too, and aren't scared to admit it, then copy and paste this in your signature. I liked the animation in Tsuiokuhen. I thought it was very appropriate, as Tsuiokuhen is a darker version of the Remembrances arc. However, in Seisuckhen (which I hate anyway), they almost looked like a hybrid between the OVA style and the anime style. It was more realistic, but their eyes had that huge, anime-style look. Was it just I, or was Kaoru's head about as round as a water melon?

the manga for sure, the OVA totally messed up the characters and a lot of the storyline, while the animation was really well done everything else sucked the voices sounded really messed up, and everyone was OOC especially kaoru
