Okay, you know how an avatar is supposed to represent you? Well, in the arena, people are not representing themselves. They're representing what there imagination is like. If I ever enter the avatar arena, I will change it so it looks somewhat like me.

Well, some of the people are making what they consider to be dream avis or avis that look like movie characters. Some look like Mrs. Doubtfire, or Gandolph. That sort of thing. I guess the nicest thing about the arena is that you can do what you please! Welcome to Gaia!

I don't think that your avi has to represent you. Why do you think there are things like Angelic Wings, Shadow Spirits, and other such things? It's meant to be something you can play with.
It's OK to post threads that aren't about grammar, as long as they're in the "General Discussion" subforum.

However, it is generally expected that you use good grammar. Which you clearly did not.
On the point of avatar entries, I see no problem with avatars representing anything else than the person.
In fact, I find it quite obnoxious when a person posts an avatar saying "This is me".

I don't think it matters if an avatar looks like you or not. "The internet- be as beautiful as you want to be!" It represents you, so why not make it how you want to look? I'm not making mine slightly overweight with frizzy hair, so why should I expect anybody else to?

I like it when people go crazy with their imaginations. It makes the avatars fun to look at, as well as really creative. mrgreen My avatar will get there someday! I'm just lacking in the gold department. xd

I disagree. How many people can represent themselves with a demonic arm, or with a chain that circles their waist, or with fish teeth that are oversized, or a helmet made out of fish scale? By that description I'm talking about my avatar. This is because that's what an avatar is all about, letting your imagination take place.
I'm plenty happy with my light-absorbing black-garmented avatar.
He must get really hot in the day though...

That's half the beauty of the Internet: people can be something they are not in the real world! I certainly don't have red hair and a wolf's tail (although I would like to)! I'm short, blonde, and thinner than the avatars here on Gaia (sadly).
If avatars represented the real people behind them, Gaia would look quite dull.
