It's like an evolved form of txt tlk. What are your opinions about this? And has anyone seen this before? (I put this in Txt Tlk Horror Stories because I wasn't sure if it would fit anywhere else...)

When I was in college, my Honors English teacher showed that to us, and allowed us to throw darts at it...

I agree! I didn't realize that this email had been around for a while... I'd never heard of the "research" that it mentions before. It's one of those things that make you wonder if it's really true. And if so...why? rolleyes If that made any sense... And don't worry, Socceridol1. I never send chain letters or forwards. 3nodding

I would forward this to the people with bad grammar on my instant messaging list, but it's just awful to even look at.

I've seen that thing more times than I can count.
I think it is stupid and is trying to prove (incorrectly) that language skills aren't important.
"Hey, according to these guys at some university, we don't have to type legibly 'cause everyone can understand it anyway!" stare
I tinhk taht tihs is a laod of blucalrp and sohlud nreev be teakn siuorlesy.
Dang...it took me like, 10 minutes to purposely type that wrong. neutral

55 people out of 100 can? What? That's not possible! We have a break in the law of literacy! Lock the doors, seal the windows, run to the secret subterranean bomb shelter!

My friend showed me that and I could read it. It talked about it a different way. It was a bit more formal if you didn't count the spelling and I didn't think it was true. I never knew that it was a chainletter though.
