Story

Rejected way too many times by good-looking (and unattainable) guys, shy Riiko Izawa goes online and signs up for a free trial of a mysterious nightly Lover "figure." The very next day, a cute naked guy is delivered to her door, and he wants to be her boyfriend!
Has Riiko died and gone to heaven? The cute guy turns out to be sweet, smart, a great cook, and lots more. And he looks like a million bucks, which is what he's going to cost Riiko if she doesn't return him in time...

Yuu Watase was born on March 5 in a town near Osaka, Japan, and she was raised there before moving to Tokyo to follow her dream of creating manga. In the decade since her debut short story, Pajama de Ojama (An Intrusion in Pajamas), she has produced more than 50 compiled volumes of short stories and continuing series. Her works have provided the basis for two television series, an OVA series, anime soundtrack CDs, and a string of novels.

Volume 1

Riiko needs money after giving all she had to help pay for Night, so she finds a job at the same place Soshi works. Not wanting Night to worry, she doesn't tell him about her new job, but Night finds out anyway. What's even more worrying to Night is how Riiko is beginning to feel for Soshi…


Volume 3
Another woman has kissed Night, reinitializing his system to accept her as his new girlfriend. Riiko hunts down the apartment where Night is staying with his new lady, frantic to find him before he is fully "imprinted" and she loses her chance with him forever.


Volume 4
While out on a date with Night, Riiko meets a boy who looks like her first crush from elementary school. Even though she's with Night, Toshiki seizes the opportunity to steal a kiss from Riiko...


Volume 5
A miniature version of Night has returned to Riiko while his full-size body gets repaired--but now Soshi has decided to move in with them! Can a mini Night prove to Riiko that his love is just as real as Soshi's?


Volume 6
Riiko has chosen her one true boyfriend, but she finds her life changing quickly after her decision. Will Riiko and her boyfriend have their happily-ever-after?

Ok i love this series but, the problem is i can't read the 1st volume at school, i dont think i need to say why, Last time i did. Everyone thought i was reading porn. (Or as we anime fans say Hentai)

Which of course i wasent.

But it has a very good story line that hooks you. Its one of my must reads.

I read the first three books and it's pretty good. But there's tons of nudity (on Night's part, though. I'm not complaining.) But I don't like Riiko that much. I find that she's a bit desperate. That's why she likes Night so much.

Absolute Boyfriend is a story I like... as long as I forget it's by Watase-sensei... Whenever I remember that I become scared and half expect Riiko to get knocked up ([spoiler starts]

Well at the end of the last magazine issue maybe she will have Shoshi's baby :pervvy look: Yeah no way![/end spoiler] And for Night to go on a Killing spree... Because Watase-sensei always has a pregnant character and kills off half of the cast.

As for the ending (No real spoilers please, I'm only reading the American Shojo Beat version.) with so many twists in shojo manga....Riiko could end up with GAKU for all we know! You know she finds that eye tattoo hot...or is it just me? whee

I love Absolute Boyfriend. It was the first Shojo Beat manga I ever fell in love with. The drawing style is so beautiful, as well as the character design and the plot 3nodding

I too had troubles reading this in school...some of my friends accused me of reading porn when they saw the cover of the first one sweatdrop For awhile I was given the name "Dirty Fan Art Girl", which I really didn't appreciate...
