I not sure if you all know the difference between gothic lolita and western gothic clothing, but I just wanted to know if anyone here dresses as a gothic lolita (I do, but not everyday like I wish I could)

I can tell by your name that you're a j-rock fan, too,
although Antic Cafe is more Oshare Kei than Lolita. o.O

Personally, I love the whole Japanese-inspired Gothic Lolita
Fashion, but I think it only looks good on certain body-types.

"Lolita" in general is supposed to be innocent and child-like,
therefore meaning a frail figure and flat chest are typical.

Western Gothic Fashion tends to misinterpret "gothic lolita"
as a style that turns victorian dresses into sex symbols. =/

I am totally in love with Gothic Lolita. If the clothes weren't so damn expensive, I would make my own Gothic Lolita Heaven.

Hey, I might want to do that one day.

same! I wish i could make things but i wouldn't have the patience and time to do so crying

I love the clothing heart yet not only are they expensive but some of the sizes are so petite i would never be able to fit in them crying

If I only had the money, I'd love to dress in Goth Loli. Sadly, I spend all my money on books and CDs.

There are some similaraties between certain styles of western gothic clothing, and gothic lolita clothing (especially if one was to compare EGA to a victorian-inspired romanti-goth outfit), however, there are numerous differences.

I agree, a lot of westerners who attempt the gothic lolita style tend to screw it up, but a few can pull it off wonderfully! ^.^

I'm not generally one for gothic lolita, with the exclusion of the EGA style. I'm totally in love with it! I do have some EGA-esq outfits, but I have trouble pulling them off... it is quite easy to screw it up and look more like an amish woman than a refined victorian beauty (not that I have anything against the amish!)

......its styles and combinations like that which makes me jealous of women's clothing in general..........I swear, one day I'm gonna have my own collection of women's clothing just so I can wear them and create outfits......in the privacy of my own home and not in public though....

I've got three complete gothic lolita outfits, and every now and then I wear them with a corset or a waspie. Not because I've 'misinterpreted' the fashion, but because well... if I can wear a corset with it, I'm gonna capitalise on it every now and then. Does it really matter if people adapt the look and change it? As long as it actually looks half-way decent on them, it's all good by me.
