I believe it's a hack. I saw one that would give you a choice to have twins, triplets, quadruplets or a single baby after the "There's a new family member on the way!" thing. I think there's also one that lets you choose the baby's gender. No, wait, that's an adoption hack...

I used boolprop, and I have eleven babies at the moment. o__o;;

Use the hack to set them to their birthdays? There was this really annoying baby, so I just changed him into a teen.

Have your sim eat cheesecake during pregnancy and voila, twins!

My bf's game is crazy right now. He had the bright idea to have his sim have babies one right after another (like knocking up the mom sim minutes after she gave birth, poor lady!), except the first pregnancy.. he got natural twins. No hacks or anything. Right now he has 2 toddlers and a baby and he refuses to use maxmotives. sad I always wanna cheat for him when he's afk!!
