For free stock images, even if it's not that best, I can suggest you go to Stock Exchange (sxc.hu). They have a lot of stock images that you can use :3

Well, yeah o.o GIMP pretty much has most of the tool Photoshop has even most of it's filters (even though some of them are under rocks x //x). You can add brushes, patterns and fonts to gimp, just like in photoshop. I'll try to do a tutorial on one way to add them and keep things organized P:
