Name: (Real Name) Bai Feng (African Chosen Name) Xuco
Meaning: "White Wind"
Pride: Chokwe
Rank: Tengou
Status: Single! (May be mated to a girl owned by Reeshie Hack)
Personality & History Summery:
Back then, he was no more successful than any other courser to the emperor however favored he was. His white pelt made him painfully obvious to the prey so he was often covered in fine dirt before the hunt. A habit that carried over to his older days as a free cheetah, though no longer by human hands. Back then his white coat and firey red mane had been a sign of good fortune in the eyes of the emperor. It was a royal sport, coursing. The rulers of the orient would often meet with their prized animals to compete against each other. Rulers from forgiven lands would travel to the east to compete and those from the east would travel to the exotic lands to hunt new and exotic game. India, China, Africa, and other great landscapes. Bai Feng had been the favorite of his young emperor and was hardly ever seen apart from the young man's side. Sitting at his feet by his throne as a status symbol, a token of good luck.

Coursing had been an art and a great honor among his kind. The cheetahs he had been born among were of a noble lineage, bred from champions from generations prior. The first, he'd heard, had been a gift to the emperor's late great-grandfather as an exotic species to add to his palace. Creatures strange to the area were seen as tokens of great wealth and often looked highly upon by the people and other rulers. Eventually word of using them as sport reached the emperor and soon it had been refined into a way of life. The cheetahs lived better than most of the common people, eating prepared meat and drinking clean water drawn from the palace's stream. They were groomed and set with harnesses that allowed their handler to restrain them on the field along with coursing helmets that were set on their heads, blinding the cheetah until removed for the hunt. Keeping them passive.

Bai Feng had been among the six that had been brought to Africa for a hunt arranged between a local sheik and the emperor. The night of the hunt had fallen on the night of a migration of some of the local beasts. Massive horned creatures Bai now knew to be wildebeest. Thousands, perhaps millions of the creatures had made their route across the hunting range and the hunters had been scattered. Bai Feng lost contact with the others in his team, finding himself soon in the company of one of the native female cheetahs. Wild and bold, she'd been nothing short of perfect to him.

Much as he'd loved her, Bai Feng couldn't find it within himself to abandon the life he knew and set off to search for his old master. After two seasons passed it became apparent that there was no trace of his old master or his team. When he returned to his mate's den he found only a corpse, already picked clean of her flesh and fur.

Heartbroken, he'd wondered away from the den, growing thin and rugged from his once sleek and proud form...

The spiders had found him. 'Ghosts of the Savanah'. The creatures of the underground had found his broken from, taken them into their shadows and restored him to health. They were the weavers of tales and the ears of the land. Their ways and stories intrigued him. The more he listened the more fascinated he became with the land. They'd earned his loyalty, Korvo had become his emperor....

When the Anasi disbanded, he followed their former prince, Taban, to the overworld, aiding the ambitious youth in any way he could. He's become a father figure to the youth of their small, but powerful, troupe.

Older, wiser, but still bearing the strength of his youth- Feng is a headstrong individual well versed in diplomacy. While he tolerates no disrespect, he greets even strangers with a welcoming warmth and hospitality. He's thoughtful and calculating, careful and patient. His largest 'lesser quality' is his fear of rejection. Hence why he's been unable to reveal himself to his son, Taban.

Plots:
• Feng MAY have a mate with Reeshie Hack's older cheetah lady but I'm not sure. Until I know, please no mate offers.
• Lots of rp! Feng spends a lot of his time seeking info for his troupe and training.
• Any conflicts needing a few extra fighters. Feng would gladly lend his mind • Perhaps another coursing cheetah! Rivals or friends would be interesting.

"He shall be named Bai Feng." The emperor beamed over the litter of cubs nessled into their mother's side. Only two had lived, one was as white as snow on the mountain with flicks of red like the mantle of his sire. The other one was the same dusty orange of a cheetah, but like her brother, spotless.

"Chun Tao was the perfect mate for Lei Kang," The young prince agreed, "What cubs she has born. Surely Bai Feng will bring you much fortune on the hunt."

"That he will." The emperor reached down, carefully taking the small white ball of fur up from his mother. The cheetah looked up quickly, giving a warning growl but the handler quickly gave a tug at her collar, a warning if she dared to bite.

The young cheetah was held up for inspection, "Paws red as blood, a star on his brow. Surely he is nothing short of good fortune... See to it he is cared for above the others." He slowly replaced the cub, smiling proudly down at the bundle before taking his leave. Sadly, there were other matters to attend to...

The cub led the pampered life of an emperor's good luck charm. Far too bright and obvious for the actual hunt, though he was trained for it, Bai Feng was ever-present by the emperor's side or lounging in his lap. He wore a jewel-embroidered collar that was finer than much of the jewelry even the wives of the emperor wore. He was allowed free reign of the palace, and often times took advantage of it.

There were plenty of other cheetahs to play with though many of them feared it. A cheetah cub had been beaten nearly to death for accidentally scratching through Bai Feng's white pelt, drawing enough blood to concern the emperor. There were a few cheetahs who resented the cub for his favor, knowing that had he been born a wild cheetah, he'd have died shortly after birth. His coloring would have been against his favor among his litter mates and it was very likely that he'd have starved to death before his eyes even opened.

Bai Feng eventually came to prefer the company of the humans that treated him so well. Allowing them to groom him on an almost constant basis, eating only the finest of foods, and sleeping in the same chamber as the emperor himself
, though in his cubhood, he was confined to a fancy enclosure as he was prone to mischeif.

Formally a coursing cheetah, Xuco was once seen as an invaluable possession to a Chinese Emperor. His white pelt and fiery mantle was said to be a sign of the god's fortune upon the house. Among the forty-seven cheetahs, he was the one ever-present at the foot of his master. He was born to the emperor's prized female and one of the three top coursers out of the studs, the female had been far more pale than her sisters, her spots faded. The male had faded spots as well but had sported the healthy golden pelt of a natural cheetah. Of the litter, two were still born, Xuco's only living sibling had been near spotless but more of a dusty gold in color where he sported the pearly white pelt and a fiery red mantle like that of his father.

Because of his color, he wasn't among the better coursers and was used mainly as a status symbol to his aging master. The first emperor passed away and as part of his inheritance, the heir received Xuco along with half of the coursers. While still in high favor, Xuco wasn't nearly as pampered as he had been in his youth. He was sent on more coursing events and managed to win two of the games against other nobles from around China.
