((By the way, someone else please take charge of what supplies we're supposed to get and where we're supposed to go blah blah blah. I hate being the leader, and in real life I would most likely never take charge like that unless I was extremely annoyed by lack of decision (which I was), so someone take over (Erin maybe, since it was her plan in the first place kind of). On a latter note, I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geiko!))

“Alright guys, let’s not be stupid about this. We need a plan before we go rushing off. There are basic things that we need, food, medical supplies, and living supplies. I think we should break into teams, each team goes after one thing, we have to plan this out strategically. We should have teams of three. Team one goes after food and those kinds of necessities. There’s a Kroger right down the road. We need non-perishables; things that will last. If it can be made by boiling water we can get that too. We should also have lots of bottled water. Try to find vitamin supplements too; I don’t really see a lot of good nutrition in our future eating habits. Alright, then the second team should get medical supplies, the children’s outpatient facility on Mason-Montgomery should be good. I don’t really know what we’re going to need, so a little bit of everything would be good. Team three needs to raid Wal-mart; we’re going to need stuff like clothes, coats, blankets, air mattresses maybe? Basic living necessities. Soap. I don’t really care who goes where and we don’t all have to go at once. We should probably go in shifts, and those who aren’t out raiding can stay here and work on making this place more defensible. Any questions?”

"I'm pretty sure food is at the top of everyone's list, so that's most likely what we should get first. Everyone is staying, yes?" I waited, but heard no protests. "Decided. Erin, Alec and I will be leaving soon I suppose. Sami and Brad, I guess we will be needing you two to hold down the fort while these kiddies sleep, so don't get eaten or anything. Please."
I looked at Alec and smiled, feeling a little more confident about taking some control, seeing that no one else was feeling up to the challenge. "Baby, I need you to pick a car or something, we will be needing to carry a lot of stuff. If you think it would be a good idea, Erin, hop in another one. I'm going to grab my rifle and the semis. ((I realize that I didn't mention these, but Mike and my mom got them when mom got her cc and let me shoot them in Tennessee, and I fell in love with them. Deal, please. c: )) If you want anything else, grab it. I will be riding with whoever has a sun roof."
Alec and Erin scampered off in their respective directions.
"Brad and Sami, if you find any extension cords or anything like that, run them up here. If you need anything, my cell's good."
I received a nod from them both and walked towards Aaron's hummer. 'I have no idea how I'm going to make it through this.'
Loosening my belt, I slid both of the hand guns into the sides of my belt. Grabbing my rifle, I jumped into the passenger seat next to Alec, I stared straight at the dashboard. 'Ok, we will need some pots and pans and whatnot. Silverware. Cooking utensils.'
Lori.
'No meat. Nothing from the fridge. Bread. Hambur-s**t. No hamburger helper. Pasta. Canned things.'
Lori.
'The vitamins. Calcium for sure. Would powdered milk be a good idea?'
"LORI!"
I jumped and whipped my head to look at Alec. "Yeah?"
He said nothing, merely sat staring at me. I was about to ask him what was wrong, but he smiled, grabbed my hand and kissed me on the cheek.
"We'll get through this."
((By the way, what's the zombie status at the moment?))

I can't sleep. No surprise there. I'm exhausted, and feel awful, but i've got to do something.
I get up, Alec, Lori and Erin are off scampering around. Sami gives me a tilt-headed look. I wink.
"I'm getting paper and a pencil. We're going to see who's good at what."
I run up into the press box and find what i'm looking for. A clipboard and a red sharpie. I also find a shortwave radio.
I head back onto the field with these things and set up the radio. Batteries still work. I key it into a news station.
"tims are growing quickly in number. Stay off all roads and lock your doors, barricade your windows. Groups as large as 20 have been sighted, although these are sparse."
The radio turns to dribble as I focus on the paper.
Jobs.
Okay.
I write on the paper.
Chris - Driver, Gunner
Emily - Driver, Gunner
Alec - Driver, Gunner
Lori - Driver, Gunner
Brad - Driver, Gunner
Sami - Driver, Gunner
Drew - Driver, Gunner
Jordan - Driver, Gunner
Justin - Driver, Gunner
Erin - Docter
I crack my neck. It's bare-bones, mabye in accurate, but a start. I put the clipboard on the ground in the middle of the field, letting everyone know that it's public property. I make a note at the top saying that we can change things and add, the clipboard is our way of being informationally organised. A list of weapons should probably come next, with supplies as well, but at this point i'm too bushed to work on it. I curl up next to Emily and drift off for an hour, maybe.

With a loud crack Drew woke up to an empty football field. The sun had fallen hours ago but the bright full moon stuck glued in the highest point of the black sky. This combination only intensified the haunted dead of the night.
Drew scanned the field for life and came to find none. His first response was to cry but knew he had to fight against it. The fears pulled him to his feet, his back cracking to a drum roll and a sudden pain in his arm inspired a loud yell. His guess was the pain came from the horrible position he passed out to the other day.
"Man how long have I been out and where is everyone? JORDAN.....CHRIS....ANYONE......"
Nothing
The emptiness began to creep in on him and a small cold nibbled at the ends of his nose. Drew checked his side for his gun, found it, and picked up the machine gun lying motionless near his side.
"I've got to move. If something has happened to the others then I am dead if I think I'm going to protect this large of a base all on my own. Where to go?"
Drew thought to himself and moved for Giget. It hurt him to leave the place with so many unanswered questions but know for his own sake it was time to move on. Maybe it was better he didn't know what happened to them. All he could think to do was stay alive.
Drew made it to his jeep and kicked open the door. He was up and in it within a second and turned the key by the next. There was a coughing sound and a high pitch buzz.
Nothing
"F....no now is not the time to lose your morals. What the heck am I going to do?"
Drew got out of the car and moved along the familiar wall of his high school stadium. Trying to make the least sound possible, Drew ran at a quick pace for Tylersvile(sp) road, up passed the middle school. There weren’t too many things to see during the night but that meant nothing, as soon as he makes a loud sound he would be over run with zombies before he could take his own life. Drew continued forward, making sure to never leave the side of the building and trying to stay as low and quiet as possible. Minutes latter he got to Tylersvile and waited to catch his breath against the cold morning.
Cars and bodies alike lay wasted like confetti all around. The scene was even worse then the movies with trails of blood and limbs thrown about like children’s toys. It was a God Forsaken mess and no one but the devil to clean it up. Drew's eyes narrowed across the street. He wanted to get down Mason Mountgumry(sp). Hopfully he could find some more main stream survivors.
That’s when suddenly Drew heard it. All of the hairs on his back and head stuck straight up as the adrenaline shot through his body. A loud moan came from down the street as a disfigured body limped in no direction. Drew watched it for a second in disbelief. He had never seen one for real and never so close without it threatening his life. It was a strange way to come to the realization that the end of the world was really here.
Then as the figure got closer Drew noticed there was something familiar about the slightly dark red-brown hair and small beard skinny man stumbling toward him. Drew’s eyes grew with disbelief as the figure neared him. Drew took a few steps backward and with a small whispering confused voice forced the words….. ”TJ?”……
The moaning stopped and the figured cracked into an upright stance and faced Drew with dark and bloody eyes.
“Why Drew, why did you leave me DIE,” The voice of TJ screamed and then the zombie rushed at him. Drew lifted the head of his gun and began firing madly. His shots snapped in all directions but couldn’t focus a hit. The zombie crushed Drew to the ground and tore into his shoulder. Drew screamed out in pain and cried with ding pain as he was eaten alive.
Drew woke up with a sudden crack. His feet jumped and he grasped his shoulder to find nothing there. The sun was bright and heavy in the sky and Jordan laid near him still deep into sleep. “Oh my gosh…. “ Drew could only get a few words into his sentence before braking down and crying. This wasn’t a matter of being strong and standing any more. He would rely on others to do that for him now. Everyone he knew and loved where dead. They where gone and probably eating some other innocent person.

I looked at my phone. 5:55. Dawn would be coming soon. I would be light and we would need to move to get what we needed. "Keep in mind that we don't need to go over-board on the food and drink," I spoke up after such a silence. My voice felt cracked and dry in the pale air or the morning. As loud as I tried to speak my words seemed to be swallowed up. My purpose seemed to be swallowed up. This New World felt like it was going to eat me whole, but I would not let it. I would give it indegestion anyways.
"We still have all the food and drink I got fr-from... Aaron," I spoke again. "We should find things more along the lines of defense. We're going to be here a while, atleast 'til some sort of help or recovery arrives...
Or we have to move."
My group of friends nodded slightly in agreement, or at least acknowldgement. Either way, we understood each other at last. I flicked the hammer of the handgun holstered to my belt lightly as I said again, "In the morning Sami and I will take an ATV to my house again so I can salvage anyhitng else we might need or want. Chris, why don't you take the White Hummer and go find us defenseable things. I don't care what, just things to stack to block with. Drew, take your Jeep and find us food and water because there's no such thing as too much of that."
I took a deep breath before I spoke again. Each flush of blonde, brown, and red hair didn't move as I thought. All those familiar eyes looked at me; unblinking. Understanding. Unwavering.
"Emily I have little doubt you will want to accompany Chris, so do that; and Jordan I expect you will want to stay with Drew. Alec and Lori, feel free to take the small vehicles (one of the ATV or the Rhino) and look for a place for us to wash." Alec gave me his famously trademarked smirk-smile, and I couldn't help but crack one as well as I went on, "No, really. I don't want the Infected to identify us by smell too. I suggest finding a way into the showers of the High School or Middle School. I don't care. If nothing else we can break into Henry's house, huh?" Alec and I laughed at this fully.
"Erin and Justin, don't worry. You guys aren't forgotten, you actually have the best situation. You get to do what you want. But Justin, I'm depending on you to keep Erin alive because I know you're the only other one here who's read the Zombie Survival Guide."
I sighed again and looked around with wonder at my small band of friends. They each nodded agian, but now in a way that we all comprehended. Then something struck me. Something I was almost ashamed to admit. "I... I realize that I've just picked up the position of leader... but I'm only asking for your trust for now. If I fail, I'll step down. I don't want this, but I will take it if it means keeping my friends alive."
"I think we should start getting ready to leave at 8:30, y'know, making sure we have all the weapons and provisions we'll need in this wasteland.
And nobody says Good luck. This is just see you later."

((I'm just glad -somebody- knows our inventory.))
I got up and walked over to Brad, put my hand on his shoulder, "What can't we handle?" i asked with a smirk. He seemed to remember something, then stood and removed my other blade from his belt, handing it to me, "Here, I kept it safe."
I nodded, took it, and put it on my belt. Two blades where they should be. I grabbed a pistol from out stockpiles and moved to the Hummer, Emily plodding along behind me with her bow and a pistol.
I got in and revved the engine. First stop was the construction going on...or not anymore...near the school. Cinderblocks and the like. We could use the unfinished construction to our advantage.

((This feels so weird doing this in 3rd person….after this I may just go to pure 1st person.)) “Better you then me Brad,” Drew said stretching to wake, his body hurt from the uncomfortable benches, “I know we are all wanting in some way to take the position of leader and the one that does will be weighed against our own vision of our selves doing the job but a group of leaders, as ironic as it may seem, gets no where. You have my gun at your side and my physique as any warrior will.”
The words brought easy to the competition he felt against him and brad. Drew knew oh so well of the inferiority complex he had over Brad. It was something that had been living deep inside him ever sense he knew the guy. There was just this side to Brad he knew no one couldn’t dislike about him, and to some level Drew felt smaller in ability. This comment not only cleared that for him but brought peace to his rising anger. If Drew was good at being anything, it wasn’t the leader over his friends, but the helper, the humble man who did the dirty work so that he could silently be the hero. It was his biggest aspiration, to be a Hero.
Drew brought himself to his feet with a slight struggle and pushed himself to wake his beautiful princess. She awoke slightly still unconscious and didn’t fully wake up until after drew kissed her. It was there routine and didn’t really need explaining. She got it and Drew loved doing it. The two made their way for a comfortable spot on the grassy foot ball field, or at least made to look like grassy foot ball field, after finding something to munch on for breakfast out of Giget. They ate away at the granola bars and small cereal to go bowls until their belly’s found satisfaction.
“I don’t know if you heard, but around 8:30 we are rolling out of here for some food and water. Not the most difficult task but that does mean we are going to leave this protected area. I don’t want you to think of me as bossy but you must listen to my every instruction. This is no video game and our lives will be in dangers way. I will get us through this for the whole team. Do I have your word?” Drew said in a way to just get a simple understanding.
“Yes dear, there’s no way I’m going out there without you and I do not think I would know what to do if there was a zombie coming at me.” Jordan replied with much readjusting of her own pride.
“Good, now come here and let me love you… I promise you everything will be ok. Now matter what happens here. You know where we will be in the end.” Drew said pulling Jordan closer to him and holding on to her, not so much to comfort her, but for the both of them.

It's been a full week since the invasion.
Our group has managed to secure a week's worth of food if eaten for nutrition, three weeks if rationed.
The football field is secure, with spotlights for the dark that can lure the zombies.
The zombies now work in large groups and swarm.
Armaments are scarce, please list them below-
Chris- 2 short swords Pistol Carbine rifle
Emily- dagger bow, plenty of arrows
