uryu ishida Barru I guess you're not supposed to use old shotguns then. :/ It's bullshit anyways. Not even sure if you can buy lead shot anywhere. I've only heard of problems with REALLY old shotguns nad shotguns with Damascus barrels. Research what shotguns you have to see if they were made with damascus barrels and approximately how old they are. Plenty of older shotguns were made with Damascus barrels, which was the major problem with the older barrels (since Damascus barrels can be damaged with the pressures of newer rounds). Though, it's ENTIRELY subjective as to the actual performance. There are people who had used even 3" Magnum slugs and other assorted 3" shells in Damascus barrels for YEARS before they found out they were Damascus and didn't have a single issue. As well, most major online retailers of ammunition sell plenty of non-plated lead shells. If anything, you can also roll your own. I just bought 10 rounds of #3 buckshot from www.ammunitiontogo.com, completely lead. Ah excellent.

Today, Was payday.
Today, I went to the funstore.
Today, my shotgun was not there.
But today, I did not walk home empty handed.
Instead, I now have a handful of PT1911 goodness! I came home with my PT1911, NIB.
Now, after fumbling around for about two minutes after taking it apart, lubing it up good, and then attempting to get the recoil spring, plug, and bushing in the correct position, I finally got it. Then, I reached over and lifted up the foam out of the case looking for the book. There was the ******** bushing wrench. DAMNIT. I could seriously have used it when taking it apart and putting it back together!
And now I'm going over the instruction book to see where these two little plastic ******** keys go to, I know where the metal ones do.
Pics come after I get my camera back.

Examination: Not QUITE NIB, but LNIB. It looks like a SINGLE magazine was run through it, as one magazine has brass on the follower and the barrel is spotless, and the wear shows little/no firing. I just noticed the brass on the follower. As well, he did was I did, and stripped it first. But, he didn't get the spring plug and bushing lined up correctly, and now there is a burr on the bushing keeping the plug from rising to flush as it should be mad If I had some micro files, I could handle it myself. $600 total, including tax and TICS. The poor b*****d before me payed $644. He left his receipt in the manual XD Mine is the PT1911B, so no rail, but the PT1911AR does have a rail.

No pics till AT LEAST Tuesday. I took it back ot the shop, and he's not only re-fitting the parts, he's re-blueing them too, all for free blaugh I'm also probably going shooting after work tomorrow, and sitting in on an IPSC match Sunday, because I was invited to both. Which reminds me, I have ot let him know when I get out of work!

I was going to ask my old coach to keep me in mind if he was short juniors to fill a final 4-man team, but I hear he had a heart attack this past week so I don't have the gall to ask him any more. Enh, moar gun show time for me.

But I qualify as a spectator, which is completely open. I COULD compete in IPSC if I bought a holster (and a bajillion moar mags) as a guest, but I can't follow shots that fast, or accurately.

Yeah, I can't shoot too fast with too much accuracy. The first one will hit the target and maybe the second but two of them will probably go ingo the berm uninterrupted the remaining might be hits though. Hitting a milk jug at 25 yards is a bit hard when you're shooting real fast.

Went to th gun show today. Wasn't bad. One guy was selling three or four Nambu pistols and a fully chromed M1 Carbine. God, ugliest guns in the show, all of them. There were two or three people selling utterly destroyed guns. One was a revolver that had obviously kB!'d. The top strap was gone and there was a 1/4" crack in the frame. There was another that was one revolver that had its barrel bent in an L and looked like it'd been sledgehammered, WELDED on top of another revolver in just as bad condition with the barrel bent in the opposite direction. God, who thinks those will SELL? There was also an M91/30 selling for $300. Wasn't even a hex receiver. On the upside, there were a couple M1 Carbines in very good condition, one was a National Postal Meter with the paratrooper stock. Also got to manhandle a SIG 226. That's the first gun I've ever held that I felt truly FIT my hand. Must buy some day.

The one gunshow that I went to I saw an Arisaka with the 'Mum' still on it.
I don't really collect Arisakas so I let it go, but a lot of the 'Mum's were ground off by the Japanese after surrender. The guy selling them had it marked the same price as the ones that had the Chrysthanimum(sp?) ground off. So undoubtedly a collector got a pretty good deal.
Agreed Fresnel. One day a SIG 226 will be mine. MY PRECIOUS!
226 DAK in Sig .357. blaugh
