"So um...was there anywhere you were hoping to go next? I'd hate to be keeping you from other plans." The young flower girl coaxed. She wasn't really sure what to make of Zach yet, so what better way than to find out where his interests lay.

Zack had to pause and think about it for a moment, "Well... we could always swing by Battle Square! Just to see what kinds of opponents they have at the moment." He grinned boyishly, and shifted the gigantic sword on his back for emphasis.

"Well, I suppose we can do that." Well naturally he is a fighter. "I'll just be cheering you on though." She said with a grin.

Despite the Twins and Sadira's best efforts, the officials insisted they leave, and escorted all three from the arena. They were led to the stands where the rest of the fans watched avidly, and then they were curtly informed that if they interfered again they would be kicked out of the entire gold-saucer.

Sephiroth watched with a certain detachment as his impromptu Allies were forcibly removed from the arena sands. The great carcass of the Behemoth was also being removed, Sephiroth didn't waste any time, but took a swig from a potion he kept inside his coat. It stung as it worked on his numerous cuts and bruises but he felt a little more energized. He walked steadily around the arena as he waited for his next challenge, carefully working the knots from his muscles and stretching his abused limbs carefully. All too soon the great doors rolled open once again, the entire arena seemed to shiver as a huge metal foot thunked into the sands. followed quickly by a second. A sword wider than Sephiroth was tall waved as the vaughly humanoid blue golem stomped it's way forward. "An Iron Man" Sephiroth muttered, He'd seriously underestimated Dio... That man was completely insane.

Zack smiled back at Aeris, "With you cheering my on... I could take on... a MASTER TONBERRY!" He grinned happily and winked, "For now I just want to see the line-up!"

Aeris grinned back, even though fighting wasn't one of her interests, she was still glad to see Zack so eager. "I'm sure you'll win!" Aeris coaxed cheerily, giving Zack an impromptu hug.

"You can do it Master! Show that hunk of bolts teh power of Mother!" Sabel cheered Sephiroth, drowned out by the roar of the crowd. "The Chosen One shall defeat any who stands in his way." Sabel added helpfully to whoever stood nearby, who in this case happened to be Saerenna.

The three who had been forcibly ejected from the ring sat like an odd sort of sandwich on the bleachers with the white cat in between the sullen twins. They were both glad they had been let off with a warning and were struck dumb with relief as it were.

Sadira twitched her tail irritibly, she wanted to fight too. She decided she didn't like the silver haired man, he had no conception of teamwork... not to mention a towering ego. She lashed her tail faster as she thought of him. Unwittingling bringing her flaming apendage to close to often to the black cloak of a fellow spectator who practically leaned out the balcony in anticpation of seeing the silver haired man triumph. Small tendrils of smoke snaked up rapidly followed by flames. Sadira, under a black cloud of anger took no notice.

Garm looked over to Fenrir rather sheepishly. Fenrir who was slightly upset, mostly because he had come so close to losing Garm made a face. He softened however and said cheerily, " No harm, no foul, I guess. You want to get out of here? Go watch a show in the even square or something."

" Yeah.... something less interactive.... much less interactive," Garm agreed.

" What should we do with the cat?"

" Take her with us I guess.... hey... do you smell something burning?"

" As a matter of fact," Fenrir replied testing the air, " I do."

Thalon suddenly leapt from his seat and ran as fast as he could(quite fast indeed) towards the battle square once he was there he shoved his way towards the arena so he could watch when he noticed a burning smell he walked around trying to find it then looked down and noticed someone was on fire he then saw the source and tapped on it's shoulder "er sir... or madame? you are aware that your tail is on fire right and that it is setting fire to other patrons of this establishment? also I do believe it is illegal to have open flames inside of a shinra building"

Sadira, by now had worked herself into quite a foul mood. When she was tapped on the shoulder she turned on the man with a snarl, whipping her flaming tail above her head. " What's it to you," she growled, fangs bared. She moved towards the individual threateningly. She knew somewhere in the back of her mind she wasn't being reasonable, but she felt far from reasonable tonight

The twins of course had discovered the conflagration. Garm was sorting throuh his materia frantically for something that might be somewhat useful. Fenrir who before this had been trying to stomp out fires before the patrons noticed, turned in horror when he heard Sadira's snarl.

" Wait! Sadira!" Fenrir said helplessly. He saw the whit cat's hindquarters lower in anticipation for a leap. He lunged forward trying to restrain her, grabbing the first handy thing (which happened to be her tail). He yelped as the blue flame singed his arm, and he noticed it started turning decidedly violet. He had however managed to frustrate Sadira's lunge as she stumbled instead of sailing into the offending personage.

Thalon laughed "now please ma'am try to contain yourself I was only trying to protect you from trouble with shinra" he took the hood of his cloak off and said "it's a bit hot in here isn't it?" he then got ready to leap out of the way incase the beast lunged.

A small boy with dark hair, striking red eyes, and a crimson cloth tied as a makeshift cape around his neck watched the scene in the battle arena with wide eyes. Cheering on the silver haired hero, whom he did not recognize. He was however impressed, and while he wasn't above considering some flaws in the combat, he was hardpressed to find any. He carefully maneuvered while watching, slipping through the crowds with relative ease, out of sight of his father who'd been trying to keep an eye on him. He made sure he was close to the arena entrance, so he could perhaps have a chance of meeting the man when he exited, though he hoped it would go on for a good deal longer. He had many questions, and would be satisfied if even one could be answered.

Sephiroth muttered a curse as he lept out of the way of the Iron Man's blade, He didn't have any good spells or summons for this guy, why hadn't he kept that Leviathan? One the one side, Sephiroth had excellent speed and agility, and was now thanking his forsight in taking those potions! But on the other, his sword just clanked off his opponent's steel hide nicking away at the monster's armor. It seemed like a fruitless effort, but nevertheless Sephiroth kept at it, dodge, dodge, clang!... sparks rang as the metal struck metal. If this left so much as a nick in his precious Masamune he'd skin Dio alive! He tried to keep his breathing even, tried to conserve his strength, but the giant had a significant reach advantage even to Sephiroth's No-Dachi, dodging all those attacks was really starting to wind the great General. He was growing frusterated, he hadn't expected anything like this when he'd agreed with Zack to come to the Gold Saucer, he hadn't brought ANY spells, ANY materia! only a couple of measly potions he'd expected to use on ZACK when the idiot got drunk or hit on the wrong girl or something! Clang! more sparks as his sword collided with the slowly growing slash in the Iron Man's right leg. Now he was doing who knew WHAT damage to his masamune! Clang! Forget the dodging! He was going to chop this things legs off!! In a fit of pique he blocked the next blow from the iron man, his feet sunk to the ankles in the sand from the sheer weight of the sword pressing down above him. The Iron man lifted again... perhaps expecting to hack at the General until he broke the Masamune, Sephiroth opted not to give him the chance! Not even realizing he was moving faster than even a Soldier should be able to he dashed forward, slashing with all his might at the already weakened area he'd been striking before. His blade came down hard with a shower of metal and a rather disconcerting grinding noise as it tore through the armor. The Iron man hovered on his severed leg for a few moments blade arm still raised to deliver a blow, then it teetered, slowly collapsing, crashing to the ground. Sephiroth leaped back throwing one hand over his eyes to avoid the spray of sand. Then he looked up and smiled, the monster was all but helpless! Crippled to the ground it couldn't attack anyone! After that he made short work of the Iron man, slashing it to peices until it finally collapsed into so much useless metal. Wiping the sweat from his brow he sat down on one of the chunks he'd cut off from the monster, ignoring the workers who were removing the other 'peices'. He carefully ran a hand down his sword, inspecting it for damage, sighing with heartfelt relief as he realized there was nothing so bad that a polishing wouldn't shine the blade like new. He moved wordlessly as the Arena workers arived at the peice of iron he'd been sitting on and watched them drag it away with a certain detatchment. Sure enough, the service doors had barely closed before the giant Arena doors swung open once again. The creature that strode through had grotesquely huge legs, and a rather small head, long tail and viscious looking claws, Sephiroth frowned as he stared at it's orange leathery hide. Voran? Varank Vla... Vlako-something... He pondered, what were these things called again? Then the creature charged him, as if it had just spotted it's prey. Oh yeah... Sephiroth thought quietly, 'Vlakorados'.

Zack was stunned for just the barest few moments, before he enthusiastically hugged Aeris back, "You bet I will!" He cheered before leading her happily towards the arena, the whole way there telling his own flattering tales of victory, he suddenly quieted as they approached and the whole area was packed with crowds, "What the..." He muttered, he'd never seen this many people gather JUST for the Arena! Grabbing someone's hand he asked quickly, "Hey, is there some kind of event going on?" The only response he got was,

"You mean you haven't SEEN it yet? Go look man!! It's incredible!!"

The jarring fall to the floor (with Fenrir coming down and missing her narrowly) managed to bring her back to reality. She shook her head and her tail turned back to it's original blue. She picked herself up gingerly, and looking rather ashamed, although still trying to save face as a warrior began to apologize to the person she had almost tackled. Her tail flicked this way and that causing Garm (who was helping up his brother) to jump out of the way.

" I'm sorry.... sometimes I just get so angry and all...... I really can't help my tail you know," she informed him. " Who is this Shinra person anyway? There seems to be an inordinate amount of awe.... does he deserve it?" the feline questioned her light colored eyes staring intently at Thalon.

The twins had by know recovered themselves and had begun to plot how exactly they were going to get the cat to a less harmful location... although there was debate as to where that location was.

" I still say the chocobo races," Fenrir insisted. " There is space there, no battles, or anything to raise her temper, and not that many flammable things."

" What if she has a taste for chocobo," argued Garm. " Could you imagine the catastrophe if she starts running after them, Anceints forbid, EATS one?" Garm retorted.

" You made a pun."

" What?"

" You made a pun."

" I did not."

" Did to."

" I'm quite certain no pun passed my lips."

" You said catastrophe."

" And...."

" She's a cat, it was a pun. ADMIT IT!" Garm said nothing for a long moment.

"FineImadeapun," he mumbled. Fenrir smiled triumphantly.

" Say... have you been watching the cat?" Fenrir asked.

" No, I thought you were keeping an eye on her." The twins turned frantically, preparing themselves for mayhem greeting there eyes and saw................. nothing of th sort. They did however catch sight of Zach and Aeris. Fenrir waved them over before Garm had a chance to grab his arm and force it down and whispered fiercely, " We have to take care of the cat first."

Aeris blinked and looked at Zach, who seemed to be more excitable than usual. Picking up on his enthusiasm she supported, "So then, shall we go see what all this fuss is about?"

Alina was puttering around doing her usual business of her part time job trouble shooting the mechanics on the many animatronic features of the Gold Saucer. Several of the rides and attractions featured such displays, and few people realized the amount of upkeep they required, especialy those in musty or particularly moist areas, such as along the chocobo races and the ghost hotel. With a sigh she headed towards the maintenence closet to pick up some extra bits of bolts and wires, but instead of the usual empty display of equipment, she found her 16 year old daughter enthusiastically making out with Teerce, a boy who also worked here. "My, so Teerce is the boy you've been sighing over all this time." Alina said in a pleased voice. Turning to Teerce, she began to inform the boy of how Dahry had been quite clearly thinking about frequently for some time.

Dahry and Teerce had never made it to the battle arena. The convenient closet had been too tempting. After all, it ahd been almost a month since they had seen eachother and...well things followed in the typical course. Things had been just getting interesting when Alina made her entrance, it was a great dampener on the situation.
Dahry blushed hotly as Alina came in, shewas profoundly embarassed to be caught so by her mother. Then as her mother proceeded to tell her boyfriend how she had been mooning over him, she started protesting, "I have not been sighing! And I have not either been staring into space with a silly smile!!! MOM!!!!!" At this point Dahry grabbed Teerce's arm and tried to edge past her mother with the words, "We have to go to, to the Battle Arena now, so just get what you needed, okay!! And DON'T you DARE follow us there!!!!! Poor Teerce still looked mortified as they started to hurry down the hall, both feeling uncomfortable with the other's presence.

"General? General of what?" Vincent replied curiously, "Why does he use a sword, do you suppose?" He glanced at his new companion, then back into the arena, watching his masterful swordplay, and while he knew a good deal about martial arts, he couldn't place the man's style. A quick second glance at his companion gave him a thought, "Do you suppose he's Wutaian?" He didn't know that much about Wutai, but the boy beside him was obviously descended from the western orientals.
