Hi Blaize! Enjoy your day!
Chores, bleh... Did mine yesterday! Woo clean sheets! XD
I'll be putting extra teal on my Easter cookies this year, and I proudly show off my tattoo and explain who and what it's about to anyone that wants to see. I've also got my ribbon nails done up for the month, when people ask what they're for I tell them about my grandmas fight and how this is cancer awareness month, and people should always be screened for cancers, regardless of age.
my story time....
My Grandmother was a fighter... She'd survived dozens of medical issues over the last 10 yrs that would have, and regularly do, kill thousands of people each year. When she found out she'd have to undergo yet another surgery - and an experimental one at that- it was just kinda meh =/ one more thing to do. She survived the surgery and everything went well, then she told us a secret. In her blood work they'd found cancer cells. Again, meh =/ one more thing to do. Because her doctor told her she didn't need those invasive annual exams due to her age, the cancer was further along than anyone thought. She fought hard and lasted longer than anyone (in the medical world) expected even though they told us from one week to the next a different story about just what was wrong with her. In the end it was determined she had ovarian cancer, and after she passed, when we saw her for the last time at her memorial she looked about 19 months pregnant because the mass was so big.
Just because you 'age out' of needing to be screened for a cancer doesn't mean you should stop being tested. We had no family history of any cancers until now we were supposed to be "safe" and apparently we weren't.
BAH! Enough sobbies from me
