Staring at the absolutely devastating Crunch attack as it ravaged his Mismagius, Morty found pondering if the Pokemon would even survive the onslaught. It barely had a stable defense normally, and the Screech was making sure that this attack would leave its mark. "Mismagius, Memento." Morty commanded, watching as the Ghost type let itself slip away in the attack. Before the Hydreigon could feel successful in its assault, the Mismagius' shadow would erupt into spikes that would pierce the Dark type's soul, cutting straight into the power behind its aggression.
Drawing out his fourth Pokeball, the Ghost Gym Leader would give a small smile. "Sorry to inform you, but I like to keep to tradition. The Dusknoir was a necessary evil to get some diversity, but I have always used the local Pokemon in my battles. So prepare for some fun now." Morty eerily told Sub, throwing the Pokeball out. Standing in front of the Hydreigon would be another Gengar, this one looking slightly larger and more dense than the one previous. "Ready for the final round then?"

"Another Gengar, not surprised in the least." Sub commented as he eyed the larger ghost. Playing around in the Burnt Tower and watching Morty's battles made him very familiar with this Pokemon's line, as if having recently battled it once wasn't already familiar enough.
"You may have crippled my dragon a bit but don't think for a second it's enough to dull its wrath. Valdemar, Dark Pulse!" The Dark One commanded.
With a fierce roar and a thrashing of its two head-arms the Brutal Pokemon unleashed from its main head a stream of pulsating rings of dark chi at the Gengar, the attacked powered by its malicious thoughts and rage.
(1-2, if it hits Gengar flinches due to the dark thoughts. 3-10, no flinch.)

Morty would be silent as Sub shot back at his choice in Pokemon, watching as the Dark Pulse fired itself and slammed into his Gengar. Watching carefully as the Gengar slowly got up with a dazed appearance, Morty snapped out a command. "Lick! Lets keep this thing off-balance." The Gengar would snap seamlessly from its falsified flinch to diving towards the Hydreigon with an extended tongue. Lashing out with a sudden lick, the Gengar was aiming to paralyze the Dragon type. (If t hits a 1-3, Paralysis. Otherwise, safety.)

Both Valdemar and Sub cringed as the Gengar executed the Lick, the Hydreigon more so as it seemed all its muscles clinched up as paralysis took hold. This was bad, Sub had to end this pretty soon or else they were done for. Fortunately the man did have an idea to finish this right quick but it wasn't time for that yet, soon, but not yet. He just need to buy some time.
"Payback, Valdemar!" Sub ordered. Hopefully the malicious dragon could get a little revenge.
With a fierce roar the dragon's jaws begin to drip with dark chi, fuelled by its dark emotions, namely that of vengeance. With the Gengar so close from the Lick attack it was a simple matter of lunging forward like an Arbok and striking, clamp down on the head of the Gengar with its vile fangs. Taste its revenge.
(1, paralysis takes hold. 2-4, he attacks.)

The Gengar would unable to avoid the oncoming Payback assault, taking the nasty bite with a grin that quickly fell as it was sent flying back from the impact and damage. Bouncing once before regaining his footing, the Gengar glared at the Hydreigon very intensely. Extremely intensely. Were its eyes beginning to spark? A bright and frightening flash would erupt from the pair of eyes, a Night Shade attack aimed to blast down the Hydreigon with something that was guaranteed to cause some major pain.

The demonic dragon let out a roar of pain as the Night Shade hit true, the attack completely bypassing any defenses and resistances it had against it. While Valdemar suffered the pain was actually providing fuel to the proverbial flame that was its rage which in turn gave it strength. The proud dragon would not fall to this specter, it was eating ghosts like this when it was just a tiny Deino! It's time it showed it and its trainer true suffering.
"Gooon!" Roared the dragon as it began to surge with energy, its body giving off a fierce glow. Sub didn't have to look twice to know what was going on so he just kept his mouth shut and watched his dragon. Morty might be alarmed at this sudden act, and his surprise might increase further as the glow suddenly disappeared, the dragon doing...nothing? Huh?

Staring down the intriguing Hydreigon, Morty;s eyes would narrow as suspicion crossed his mind. "Hmm. Only one way forward. Hex, Gengar." Morty finally said, watching as the Gengar would gather a very wavery collection of energy in its hand. Firing the blast forward at the Hydreigon, it would visibly react as it drew closer to the Dark type. It would almost appear as if it was leeching energy from something about it to grow stronger. What was this?

The Hex would work its magic on the Hydreigon, the dragon would attempt to resist the move however and it would be largely successful as its energy continued to surge despite the hit it took.
"Do it, Valdemar...Draco Meteor!" Sub ordered.
Summoning forth the chi collected with its Focus Energy executed earlier, the dragon would conjure forth around it a massive aura of dragonic chi. The beasts stared at the ghost before with it eyes filled with malice, the Gengar could almost feel its ill intent. With a mighty roar from all three raised heads the aura of chi around the dragon would condense into a ever smaller ball of energy in the main head's open maw. Once the ball of chi had condensed to about the size of a baseball the dragon would snap it up and swallow it.
"Gooon!" Roared the beast again as it launched its self off the ground, high into the air. Looking down at the Gengar from above the Brutal Pokemon would spit up the condense ball of chi again, sending it flying towards the ghost. As the ball traveled it would begin to rapidly expand and change shape, quickly taking on the form of a massive Hydreigon-like head, the chi mass threatening to consume the specter with its gaping maw.
(Will add more if successful. 1, fails.)

Morty and his Gengar would track the flying Hydreigon as best they could, preparing for whatever they could do to counter the likely followup from the Dark type. What they were not prepared for was for the Hydreigon to spit out something that resembled pocket sized armageddon. Looking at the mildly apocalyptic assault, Morty would throw out a hand in a sweeping gesture before simply remarking, "Well played." The meteor crashed down after his gesture, blanketing the area in shrapnel and dust.
When the massive output of dust and smoke cleared off, Sub would find the Gengar unconscious at the bottom of the freshly made crater in the gym. "There. Hope I made you work for this. After all, this should have been a walk in the park any other day."

Sub let out a heavy sigh of relief as the Gengar fell to Valdemar, finally, it was over. "You certanly did." Sub admitted, he really did expect this to be an easy win. After recalling the Hydreigon he would collect his badge and with a firm handshake from Morty he would exit the gym, setting off for his next challenge in Cianwood City.
-----
"That was the worse boat trip I've ever taken." Sub said allowed as he got off the boat and made his way to the gym. "The Corphish etouffee was blande, the fried Whiscash was cold, and they were all out of Krabby claws!" He continued to complain to himself, even as he entered the gym.

Ascending the rocky stairs of the gym, to the top of the gym, Sub would be presented with a wide arena, back dropped with the waterfall that run through the entirety of the gym. Painted in large lettering across the floor were the characters for "Intensive" and "Training." Farther back, on the other side of the battling space, Chuck himself was following the floor's encouragement, grunting away as he continued to exercise, seemingly unaware of Sub's presence. The gut he had possessed a few years ago was gone, replaced with a solid, toned six pack chest. Sweat glistened off rippling and flexing muscles as he repeatedly lifted the enormously weighted bar. Clearly the last few years of effort and produced fantastic personal results.
With a final grunt, he lifted the weight for the last repetition, before placing it on the rest. Sitting up, he finally noticed Sub, letting out a bellowing laugh, "BWAHAHA! I didn't see you waiting there, young one. Enjoy the view?" Jumping to his feet, seemingly unaffected by the earlier workout, Chuck stepped away from the impressive array of training equipment, and up the the arena. "Now, I suppose you're here for a match. And judging from the looks of you, I doubt you are looking to fight me personally. Well, don't expect me to take it easy on you. My Pokemon train just as hard as I do." Still shirtless, he retrieved a Pokeball from his belt, releasing an excitable looking Primeape. "Now then, little one," he boasted, "Let's see what you've got."

Sub did indeed stare at Chuck for a good long while, he had seen the man battle on television often when he was younger and distinctively remembered his pudgy stomach, but now there was no signs of it. It was certainly an impressive sight to behold no matter who you were, that's dedication. "Um...y-yeah! A battle..." Sub said, speaking half gibberish as he took out a Dusk Ball and almost rolled it out of his hand onto the floor, the device popping open to reveal Poe the Sableye. "Hehe! I finally, so who is the doll we're fighting this ti-...oh, a dude..." Poe said, upset that they weren't battling a woman gym leader like the last time he was used. What a chauvinist. Sub just rolled his eyes at the imp, letting out a hefty sigh before focusing his attention at the battle on hand. "Never mind that, Poe, we got a battle to take care of. Let's start out with a Confuse Ray." The trainer ordered. After a mutter of protest against being used against such a masculine man the Sableye would let loose an intensely bright flash of light from its crystal eyes as it stared down the angry ape.

"Interesting start," Chuck remarked, as his Primeape shook its head, trying to clear its mind of the confusion that now plagued it. "Unfortunately," he continued, "If you thought something like this would slow us down, you are sadly mistaken."With a quick breath, he looked to his Pokemon, "Primeape!" Chuck's bellowing voice reverberating through the gym, "Unleash your inner fury! OUTRAGE!"
The monkey Pokemon charged forward, shouting its name as it surged forward, chi gathering in its limbs. "ape, ape ape, ape, Ape, Ape, Ape, PrimeAPE!" Devastating blows furiously struck forth, attempting to sunder what poor fool unfortunate enough to be subject to such monstrous wrath.
(1 - 5 the attack hits. 6 - 10 hurts self in confusion.)

Sub said with a smile as he watched the ape completely miss Poe and instead slam its self into the nearest object, pummeling away at it until its fists hurt. "You need to calm down, monkey boy. Poe? Show our friend that rage doesn't pay, use Zen Headbutt." The trainer ordered. With a nod and a chuckle Poe would get on all fours and begin to rapidly shuffle towards the Primape in a distinctive creepy Sableye manner. As the imp gained speed its head would begin to give off a faint pink aura, the aura becoming more intense as Poe launched himself off the ground at the Primeape head first, attempting to connect with said ape and unleash a burst of psychic energy from its head on contact.

A piercing glare gleamed within the raging Primeape's eyes; how deranged and confused was this thing really? As Sub's imp charged headfirst into the fray, the wrathful ape lashed out, swinging arms wide and attempting to intercept the attack.
"Hah!" Chuck barked out a laugh at Sub's remark. "You mistake my methods, young one! The trust I share with my Pokémon is absolute. Thanks to our intensive training, Primeape's instincts are honed so that he can still fight effectively while within the grip of Outrage."
The Primeape was certainly going at it viciously. The earlier strike was followed up with a flurry of blows, raining down towards the Sableye. "APE! APE! APE!" Each strike accompanied by a staccato shriek, accentuating the pounding blows.
1-5 hurt self in confusion, 6-10 attack hits. Die roll of 6 to 10 to recover from confusion.
