SubonicXP "Oh! Master Wulfric you say? Such an honor that will be!" The maid exclaimed. "I've watched Master Wulfric battle before, he is one of Kalos's most powerful trainers. Don't let his favoritism towards Ice types fool you. Unlike most gym leaders who might lean more towards a certain style of battle, be it offensive or something else, Master Wulfric prefers to use a balance. He'll keep you on your toes, if I may say so." With that said, she handed Blizzard his Pokeballs. "Good luck, Ma-...Blizzard." "I wouldn't expect anything less out of him. The Mahogany Gym is an Ice gym itself, so I would like to think I know a thing or two about the Ice type as well." I said to her, taking the Pokemon back. "At any rate, thank you for tending to my Pokemon; I really appreciate it. Well, I better not keep Wulfric waiting. Let's see what the man got..." I then made my way back out of the room and made my way to the gardens.

The bushes were perfectly trimmed into various forms such as Pokeballs, faceless trainers, and Kalos native Pokemon. There were flowers by the hundreds and tiny little Fairy Pokemon (a species Blizzard faced earlier) good be seen frolicking in them. The river was on the other side of the garden, and its there where Blizzard would head towards. "Over here, strange one!" Wulfric shouted from the battlefield, having already took his place. The battlefield was actually a deck that was built over the river, an extension of the garden almost as potted trees lined the battlefield's perimeter. For a battlefield it was beautiful, even the paint seemed fresh, they took good care of it. Seemed like a shame to battle here.

As I made my way outside, I noticed that the sun was starting to set upon the garden and it was a bit of a sight to behold. I felt pretty at peace in a place like this. It was a wonder why a battle would be allowed in a place like this but eh...whatever floats one's boat. I perked up, seeing Wulfric in the distance. I made my way over and saw what the battlefield was made up of, and Wulfric already picked his spot. "Huh...nice...so this is the spot, huh?" I made my way to the other side of the battlefield and looked back at Wulfric. "So do tell, how do you want to play this battle out?" I asked, taking out a Pokeball.

"Oh ho, so you want to get straight to business huh? I like that." Wulfric said with a smile as he tossed a Pokeball onto the field, a monster of an Pokemon appearing from the ball, the sheer size of it might strike fear into Blizzard of the field collapsing from its weight. "Avaaa!" Roared the colossal iceburg Pokemon. Height wise it was perhaps a little taller than Blizzard, but what it lacked in height it made up in length and width. The flat top ice Pokemon was certainly a beast to behold, frost began to form on the wooden railings near it just from its presence. This thing was powerful. "How about two against two, singles? Sound good my friend?" Wulfric asked.

I then heard Wulfric from across the field. "...fine by me." Though admittingly, I was a bit intimidated by that massive glacier of a Pokemon. Good grief, I honestly think that Glaceon and Weavile would have a hard time against THAT thing. I should have expected no less from a gym leader. Suddenly I wish I had Froslass on hand, but unfortunately I don't. I stashed the Pokeball I had in hand and switched to another one. "Alright then, let's give this a shot then. Go! Telia!" I shouted, tossing out the Pokeball. The Gardevoir was released from the Pokeball and she was up and ready to go. "Gardevoir!" she spoke up. "Ready when you are, sir..." I said.

With shocking maneuverability, Avalugg would throw its self into the air, over the railing, and then flat side down straight into the water. The Ice type was able to hit the water at just the perfect angle needed to send a large wave of water straight for the battlefield, and Gardevoir. The Surf attack threatened to sweep away anyone on the field. He certainly wasn't wasting time.

The Psychic Pokemon unleashed a powerful burst upon the Surf attack, hoping, if anything, to disperse the attack some to avoid the full brunt of it. The wave was 'shattered' by the blast of Psychic energy, causing it to largely disperse over a wider area, making it not as harmful to Gardevoir and hitting Avalugg in the process. "Good, you can think on your feet, I like that. Avalugg, Blizzard." Again, Wulfric was going all out against Blizzard and Gardevoir. Avalugg would raise its head out of the water and moan eerily, summoning forth a strong and chilling gust of wind down upon the field, almost instantly freezing the water thrown on it from the Surf attack and anything else unfortunate enough to take the full force of its winter grip.

She ended up kneeling down as the attack rushed upon her. "Urgh...well this escalated quickly...Telia, Thunderbolt!" I shouted. "VOIR!" Telia fought through the Blizzard then unleashed a powerful shot upon the Avalugg.

That said, there was a way to get a little payback. "Time to go on the defensive, Mirror Coat." Avalugg would quickly lower its self slight into the water, to where only its flat top was showing. The Thunderbolt would strike true, right down on its flat upper side, zapping it. However, as the attack hit the Ice type's table of a back would give off a pink shine and the Thunderbolt was spewed back out towards its creator at twice its size. Wulfric just didn't leave room to wiggle in his battles.

It wasn't meant to be when I heard the next attack. "Telia incoming!" The attack got reflected and there was no avoiding this one. The attack fell back on the battlefield in a powerful electrical blast. "VOIR!" "Telia!" The Telia got blasted back from the attack, hitting the ground hard. "Telia, can you get up!? Telia!" I called out towards her. "Garde...voir..." The Gardevoir managed to push herself up back on her own two feet, but there was not much left there. That Avalugg was taking these attacks like a trooper while Telia...well, not so much. I had to figure out how to shut this Avalugg down, otherwise, I'd be in dire straights if Telia went down now. I got no one other than Scizor to go out over the water, and that would be a risky thing in and of itself. "Telia, I know this is asking a lot, but I need another Thunderbolt attack out of you if you can!" I called out. Telia focused all she could then unleashed another electrical onslaught upon the water.

As Wulfric heard the command for yet another Thunderbolt, he turned his attention to Avalugg and decided to switch tactics this time. "Ice Ball and jump back to the field." With a bellow, Avalugg would flash freeze its outer body, causing water to freeze to it and thus adding on more mass. The glacier Pokemon would leap into the air as it was now round like a ball and larger than before, the Thunderbolt shocking the easy target but alas it wasn't enough to stop what would happen next. The frozen wrecking ball would slam on the field and glide right over the frozen field, the remains from the Surf and Blizzard attacks making a slick surface for it to roll smoothly over and straight towards Gardevoir at a blinding speed. If Gardevoir dodged or survived it would not stop, simply turn and come back for another go at it, adding more mass in the process as it took up the ice off the ground.

There was no getting up from this one. Tenacious as Telia tries to be at times, this massive mound of living ice was too much for her to take on. She took the full frontal onslaught, getting smashed aside, sliding upon the ice and finally coming to rest. "Voir..." The Gardevoir moaned out. No will to get back up, no energy to do it either. "It's okay, Telia, you did fine." I said. "Take a rest. You deserve it." I recalled Telia back to her Pokeball. Well the good news is that Wulfric decided to change tactics on me. And with this icy field, this would be a mistake he would surely regret. "Alright then...play it your way." I said. "Weavile! Get to it!" I tossed out another Pokeball, revealing another Pokemon out for battle. "Wea-VILE!" The Pokemon called out, claws out, and poised for battle. One thing Wulfric was going to learn is that we aren't ones to go down easily. "Say hello to my first Pokemon that got me started in my gym apprenticing Wulfric...Weavile! Brick Break!" The Weavile hunched over, noticing the field before it. Just like home. The Weavile darted off, picking up speed, almost if skating on the ice, making a mad rush towards the Avalugg. "VILE!" The Weavile went to smash right into the massive iceberg.

"VILE!" The Weavile went to smash right into the massive iceberg. This was going to be the end for Avalugg, Wulfric just knew he wouldn't survive. That said, he wasn't going to go down that easy. "Beautiful Ice Pokemon, I look forward to seeing more from it. But for now...Avalanche." Avalugg rolled towards Weavile and was met with its powerful Fighting chi infused claw, the blow causing Avalugg to stop rolling dead in its tracks and moan in pain. With the last once of the energy it had left, Avalugg would nudge its body to roll forward just a little bit and... "Timber!" Wulfric said with a laugh as Avalugg's almost lifeless body began to fall down towards Weavile. Whether or not Weavile would get stuck under the Avalanche, Avalugg would slam against the field with a fierce thud, shaking the entire place. Wulfric would recall his Pokemon soon after. "That one was my favorite. You battle very well, strange one, even while under constant pressure from your opponent. I have a feeling you'll do very well here. Now then, back to the task at hand." Wulfric would then take out a second Pokeball and toss it onto the field, a more familiar Pokemon appearing from within. "Abomasnooow!" Shouted the Pokemon as a fierce snowstorm consumed the field, which both sides would not be bothered by. "Want to see something neat? Take a gander at this." The gym would would reach underneath his shirt and pull out what looked like a Pokeball shaped golden locket. He would open up the trinket and reveal some sort of round gem stone inside. Upon closer inspection, Abomasnow also had a similar gem stone on its person in the form of a bracelet around its left arm. "Abomasnow, Mega Evolve!" Wulfric cried out as he touched the gem stone in his locket, both gems glowing in unison as he did. A bright light would consume the tree Pokemon and quickly take on a physical shape as it solidified around Abomasnow in the form of gem-like shell. This shell would not linger for long as it soon shattered to reveal something new. Abomasnow was still there but it had grown far more fierce as it hunched over, its 'leaves' standing on ends and two 'branches' were now sticking out of its back. Not too much changed other than its size and overall fierce appearance, but one thing was certain, it was surging with power now, a thin sheet of ice was even beginning to form in the nearby river just from the explosion of energy after Mega Evolving. "Razor Leaf, Abomasnow." Wulfric commanded, not missing a beat. With a roar, a tremendous flurry of razor sharp leaves would launch out from underneath Abomasnow's own 'leaves'. While the leaves seemed normal size for a Razor Leaf they were far more numerous than what was considered normal. One might confuse this Razor Leaf attack for a Leaf Storm based on its sheer quantity of leaves. This is the power of a Mega Evolved Pokemon.

Weavile quickly skated off in a massive hurry, avoiding the Avalugg crashing down. That wasn't without a trip, however, when the impact shook the deck, making Weavile skid a ways. It wasn't all too bad though. Weavile hopped back on his feet and looked back. "Good Job, Weavile. Stay on your toes, this isn't over yet." I said. "Vile." I watched the second Pokemon come out upon the field and to my surprise, it was actually a familiar Pokemon. "Abomasnow? Finally a Pokemon that I actually know about...I didn't know they had those here though." I said. I then perked up, staring in confusion. What was he talking about? I winced from the light that came forth from the Abomasnow though. I sensed a massive spike of chi coming from him. "What on...?" Before I knew it, the bright shell that quickly engulfed the Pokemon dispersed apart in a blast. Weavile turned his head, as did I, but when we quickly looked back, a look of shock came upon the two of us. The massive tree was completely different. I barely even recognized it. "What on earth did you just do to your Abomasnow?!" "Vile...?" Not even Weavile could make any sense of what just happened. Only thing we could figure that it spelled trouble for the two of us. Upon the command, I was quick to react. "Weavile! Move!" Weavile wasted no time, skating off on the sheet of ice, putting his speed and mobility on the ice to good use. He tried to outrun the massive flurry of leaves that rushed and scowered the field, but eventually the attack caught up to him, blowing him back. Weavile tumbled hard from the attack, eventually going into a hard slide, but manage to right himself back up, stopping the momentum by digging his claws into the ice and pulled himself back up. "Well, looks like its back to unfamiliar territory again! Weavile! Night Slash!" Weavile rushed off towards the Abomasnow with great speed, its claws exuding a dark aura which trailed behind the Pokemon.
