Clutching the key card nervously, Monique walked into the elevator, which evidently had its own power source, and made her way to the top floor, scanning the keycard before the elevator granted her permission to move up.

Stiff, nervous, but trying not to overthink her illusion, she got off. The top floor was dimly lit, only a few emergency lights to point the way—then again, dimly lit was kind of normal here, she gathered. She spent a moment quietly pacing the hallways before finding a room marked

TRANSMITTER ROOM
UNAUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY

She flashed the keycard at the nearby terminal, which blinked from green to red as the door unlatched, allowing her to walk inside.

What greeted her was the equivalent to a massive server room with racks upon racks of equipment. She didn't know how many radio stations came from here, but it was more than existed back in her world. Frankly, she didn't care. Some of the large, faceless boxes had huge pipes coming from out the top. A few had screens on them, others more basic setups of blinking lights. An Electric hybrid could probably feel all the RF pulsing from the transmitters, though Monique less so.

She stopped at the first one she saw. A typed label had been taped on the frame around the rack:

RADIO JOHTO - 77.1 - JOPM-FM

She tapped her SNAG, hoping for it to connect to the software driving the transmitter. Now it was up to BLK to do whatever it needed to do to bring Kasumi here.

With that said he had a thought and turned to Sundaria. "Do your SNAGs typically work with SNAG networks in other realities or is this just a fluke?"

Sundaria tilted her head, thinking about the question. "I.... I'm not a hundred percent sure, actually. It might depend on how the SNAGs are assembled in each reality and how similar they are. Which would probably mean that these two realities have created very similar SNAGs in tandem. Any other times I've traveled, I never had one on us. And if my other friends had one on their persons when they were with me, theirs were either turned off, or didn't connect to the system." She gave a mild shrug with her response. "Sorry, it never really occurred to us to test that sort of thing. I prefer to have a mild touch in a reality whenever possible."

The SNAG would connect with ease, BLK immediately going about getting past even defenses the transmitter's computer had built in and then proceed to utilize the tower's hardware to scan for her sister. "I estimate six minutes before scan is finished. Please wait." BLK informed Monique. Just six minutes and she might know where her sister is, sounded easy enough but a lot can happen in six minutes.

-----

At the base of the tower a voluptuous pink skinned woman with bright blue eyes, pouty red lips, and jet black hair done up in pigtails, a Gothitelle hybrid, would approach the Radio Tower and standing before Abigail and give her a quizzical look, folding her arms just underneath her 'blessed' bosom, her skin tight black dress really amplifying her 'gift'. "Excuse me soury, I need to get inside." She said to Abigal, expecting her to step aside so she might enter.

This hybrid chick definitely looked like she worked for the corporation that owned the Radio Tower, or maybe was in upper management. But Abigail didn't know who she was, so plan A it was. "The lobby's undergoing a serious interior redesign. I was told not to let anyone, even employees, in due to the safe conditions of the construction process. Awesome to be the bearer of good news, and all," Abby offered with a middle finger of consolation... probably. She had a feeling that explanation wouldn't be enough to sway this person, but if things got rough, she had tough Pokemon to back her up.

"Scan fifty percent complete, target has not yet been identified." BLK said, giving Monique an update at the halfway mark, not the one she wanted to hear either but it was good to be kept informed. She just had to wait a little bit longer and hopefully she would get a good update before it was over.

-----

Outside the Radio Tower the hybrid gave Abigail a critical look, eyebrow cocked. Without saying a word her mind reached out to Abigail's, the Psychic attempting to breach her thoughts and see what was really going on and unfortunately for Abigail this was a powerful Psychic while her own chi was Dark aligned making her extremely vulnerable to such penetrations (in this universe), and besides, the hybrid didn't have to pierce deep to get to the truth.

"Liar." The woman simply stated before waving a hand, an unseen Psychic force pushing Abigail to the side and attempting to hold her there while the woman entered the tower.

Upon entering she would walk into the dimly lit room and spot the trio of Meg, Sundaria, and Mitsuki. The emergency lights were on and her employee was missing from behind the desk. None of this was right. "You people have some explaining to do." The Gothitelle hybrid said, her shadow spreading across the flag and combining with the shadows of the other three.

Meg would look down and note what just happened, Shadow Tag, there was no running from this lady, not without a fight. He didn't know who she was but she wasn't happy. "We're here to fix the situation with the lights." Meg explained, hoping she didn't try to read his mind, which was exactly what she was about to do. There was only one person in the room that could either interfere with that or even threaten this woman and that was the other Psychic in the room; Sundaria.

------

Meanwhile on top of the tower. "Subject located." BLK simply declared. "Downloading coordinates to SNAG...download complete, ending scan." Monique's SNAG would flash and the holographic projector would throw up an image of a global which would spin around a bit, zoom in on a specific region, and show her exactly where her sister was currently located in this world. They found her!

"I know you may be celebrating but there is a problem brewing downstairs." BLK informed Monique.

The wait seemed absolutely interminable, but putting a high-power FM signal to this previously untried use was going to take time. And what was six minutes if it could save her sister?

All she could do was stare and look at all the equipment. This room was the nerve center of every single wire and cable from the floors below leading to the large antenna elements above. An Electric-type, like her Pichu, would probably be very happy here. She thought about the Pokémon she had from Hisui. They were out of their time, much like herself (and Kalama). Were Alolan Raichu even a thing in Hisuian times?

_Subject located._ BLK's still-unfamiliar voice broke Monique out of her thinking about Pichu. _Downloading coordinates to SNAG...download complete, ending scan._ A projection of a 3D globe appeared and slowly spun, zooming in on the home regions... Johto... Goldenrod City... A flashing pin near hers. Southwest of the Radio Tower in what looked like a densely populated residential area.

Monique was about to exhale when the SNAG unexpectedly piped up again. _I know you may be celebrating but there is a problem brewing downstairs._ She recoiled. Was this a bad dream? Was Kasumi going to slip from her grasp in some sort of cruel joke who knows how many light-years away?

"Guhhh!" Monique let out a frustrated yell as she left the transmitter room in a huff. She couldn't wait for the elevator. This time, she was taking the stairs, which creaked loudly as she made her way past every level to the ground floor. The moment she made her way to the lobby, she would feel something piercing her brain. Something unpleasant. Something completely foreign.

If Monique had been a hybrid of any other type, by now she might have known the sensation. But here, without knowing, she got her first taste of what it was like to have her mind read. She winced in pain and tried not to show it physically.

She looked back at the scene. An unfamiliar figure had joined the Snagems, a gorgeous woman of a hybrid whose type she did not recognize. _Gothitelle. Psychic. The Astral Body Pokémon. It has tremendous psychic power, but it dislikes conflict. It's also able to predict the future based on the movement of the stars._

Monique looked at her. This lady had to be the problem, maybe the reason for whatever her brain was doing. "Excuse me?" The Sheriff of New Po wouldn't know, but the Gothitelle hybrid on the other end didn't see a woman. Or, immediately, a Zoroark hybrid. She'd see someone in what looked like a really convoluted spacesuit.

Immediately the woman ceased her attempted intrusion upon Meg's mind as another person should up, one who was visually jarring to say the least. Looking the strange...person...up and down the Gothitelle hybrid began to pry into her mind instead and saw...a lot, far too much.

Eyes going wide as flashes of Monique's most important and visceral memories came to the forefront, the Gothitelle hybrid was almost immediately overwhelmed by thoughts that were incomprehensible to someone of an entirely different dimension, these were things she was never meant to see but in this quick moment she was given a front row seat to a montage of memories that included a post apocalyptic hellscape, the sensation of dying, existing in two different past realities, and of course the voyages through space and time to get there. It was the vision of an incomprehensibly grotesque monster that did it for her, its visage painful to her mind, her third eye refusing to believe it real. Quickly the Gothitelle hybrid mentally recoiled and retreated into her own mind, instinctively deciding that reading these minds were dangerous to her health.

"W-who are you people!?" She demanded to know, gripping her head as she hypersensitive mind attempted to make sense of all this, her third eye wandering through past, future, and beyond. Looks like this is what happens when the all seeing 'sees' too much.

Monique looked at the Gothitelle hybrid, who had scarcely turned her gaze on her before abruptly reeling. One look at her seemed to have the same effect that catching King Faba making eye contact with you used to have to many people in Flower City. She felt that odd feeling in her brain ease. Perhaps looking at me...hurt...her?

"My name is Monique Ka'ana'ana, member of Team Snagem, and I'm here with some of my teammates. I'm looking for my sister."

However long it would take the Gothitelle to reply would seem like an eternity. Either she was in deep trouble or this woman might realize that her mission was for real. She switched her gaze between the group huddled in the corner and the Gothitelle, anxiously awaiting a reply.

After the stabbing pain in her head subsided the woman stood back up straight, pulled her dress back down and brushed her hair out of her face. She would then walk past the gathered Snagems, stepping over her own receptionist without much of a concern, and go around to the back of the counter. Behind there she messed with a few things which in turn caused the tower's power to be restored. With the lights now back on she got a better look at them and for a minute stared at them all in silence.

"Two of you are from a different world...reality...something along those lines. I'm still trying to figure out what I saw in...you." She said, pointing a sharp white painted nail at Monique. "Strange isn't it? I possess the ability to peer into the past and divine the future and yet the concept of other realities throws me for a loop. What I saw makes me question my own abilities, these alleged futures and pasts...but I suppose this is a personal crisis I need to deal with on my own at a later time." She bemused. She was taking all this rather well in spite of what she said, then again she was a Gothitelle hybrid.

"My name is Ukilah and I own this tower." She plainly stated. "It would seem you all have already obtained what you came here for, to use my tower to search for your sister...isn't that correct, madame Ka'ana'ana?" She asked Monique, giving her a little wink. "That said I'm not happy to see you here. I didn't recognize you until I went poking in your mind. Guess you chose a different disguise this time." She said, now pointing an accusing nail at Meg. "What are you here to steal, Lockehart?"

"Man, I hate Psychics...always causing me trouble, poking their minds where they don't belong. What I would give for an immunity to that crap..." Meg muttered to himself. "Look, you can poke around in our minds all you want but I promise we only came here to find her sister and I have no intentions on robbing you...again. I didn't know that was your studio by the way." Meg said, laughing nervously. Looking down he noticed they were stilled Shadow Tagged, Ukilah not convinced enough to let them go.

“Heh, yeahhhh, I try not to think about it!” Mitsuki said in a faux cheerful tone. She had always been a bit loosey goosey with doling out violence before- hell the many loose canons on Snagem were the only people she had for role models. Coming out of the other end of that a pacifist was always going to be more likely than someone wanting to watch paint dry. Possible, but only technically. She helped Meg out by hoisting her end of the guard by the legs and shoving him into a closet. Perfect. It was a place she knew that she could count on to be safe, it had practically been a home to her for such a long time!

Once that was done and handled, she followed Meg and Monique into the elevator. The Zoroark’s assumption had been a correct one, the room was buzzing with what felt like Electric Chi to Mitsuki. She had to resist the urge to trace her fingertips across the machinery in order to avoid leaving fingerprints. Although… she couldn’t exactly resist the temptation to find the person she had been looking for. She slipped a USB into the scanner, hoping to get a scan of sudden Chi surges over the past few months. For innocent reasons of course. Absolutely innocent.

By the time Ukilah slipped into the room and successfully Shadow Tagged the trio, Mitsuki seemed a bit on edge. Monique wasn’t the only one with an objective and she couldn’t afford for this opportunity to slip out of her fingers. All she had to do was not catch the Gothitelle hybrid’s attention and let Meg be the talkative one of their group. She had her back to the USB and a hand behind her back to unplug it if need be. But if Ukilah *did* look…

Mitsuki was looking for a hybrid, and a powerful one at that. Underneath her demeanor, which generally came across as someone who was a bit on the goofy and relaxed side of things, there was an intense hate welling inside of her. It was like a methane leak on her- invisible to the immediate eye but once you knew you were glad to be made aware. Whoever she was seeking, that meetup was going to end badly.

Crystal would take a few more notes, her ears laying flat on her head as the Gothitelle hybrid began her mental invasions. this all got under her skin for… well, rather understandable reasons. Also of note, especially once Monique arrived, was that anyone affiliated with the Dark type seemed to almost be at the whims of Psychics, instead of the other way around. She wasn't sure how well she liked that, or the fact that the type matchups here were turned on its head. Made her wonder how that thing would act here. Only for a moment, however, as she listened to Ukilah introduce and explain herself. Once the talking was done, Crystal would stand up, close her notebook, and hide her arms underneath her shawl as she crossed them. “Ukilah. I’d say it’s a pleasure to meet you, but you seem like you’d rather not have met us at all. Considering you know that the two of us aren’t from this reality at all, I have to ask, though…. Is it commonplace for psychics in this reality to bore into others minds to read their memories? The reversal of manners is one thing, but jumping into someone else’s mind without their consent is a whole ‘nother issue I finally take umbrage with.”

"That is correct, Ukilah," Monique said, a bit cold. "This reality is not suited for her. Things that are normal to you are poisonous to her and..." She trailed off. "She simply cannot stay here for her own sake."

"Umbrage? Interesting, so in your reality it's improper to read minds without consent. I would apologize but I find it hard to care, I'll read whoever mind I wish whether they like it or not. Especially the minds of those who try around my tower doing whatever they like." Ukilah responded to Sundaria/Crystal.

"And yes, from what I gather by your memories, your concerns for your sister and even yourself, this world would be incredibly hostile to both of you. That is a shame...isn't...it..." She said, her voice trailing off as she locked eyes with Mitsuki. "You've been busy." She said to the girl before waving her in Mitsuki's direction, attempting to snatch her hands up with Psychic. "This is a shame, I was just starting to hate you...well, one of you." Ukilah said as she blew Monique a kiss. For just a brief moment Monique would swear it felt like someone physically kissed her, Butterfree dancing in her stomach as well.

Meg, having enough of this hybrid doing what she pleases to them, and knowing good and well what she was capable of, decided to go on the attack, tossing out a Love Ball, the device popping open to reveal a Galarian Weezing. As it appeared pink misty gas began to seep out of its 'smokestack' and would quickly fill the room. "Sludge Bomb!" Meg shouted while pointing at the Gothietelle hybrid.

Perhaps because she was focused on Mitsuki and there were too many other minds in the room to scan all at once, maybe even from the Ultra Energy contained in this room, Ukilah was caught completely off guard by the sudden attack. She would flip her head around towards Meg as he made the command but it was too late to stop it as Weezing spat from both mouths a barrage of explosive sludge in her direction. The hybrid would barely have time to get a small Light Screen up to mitigate some of the damage but the Super Effective Poison move was going to really hurt, the explosion itself sending her flying backwards and over the receptionist's desk.

"Get out of here! I'll hold her off!" Meg implored them. They would all notice the pink gas coming from Weezing was now on the ground, their shadows freed from Ukilah's as the gas dissolved the connection and suppressed the Shadow Tag. "She has no intentions of letting us go, not the Fame Witch."

Meg declared. Seconds later Ukilah would regain her composure and call out to Meg as she slowly stood back up. "Is that what you little clean birds call me? It's...fitting I suppose." Ukilah said, her voice dripping with contempt. "You'll pay for that...you'll hate me like all the rest." She said, now standing up and resting her hands on the counter before throwing one up and unleashing a Psychic to send Meg flying. As he hit the wall he just hoped the others had gotten out of the tower. Standing back up, Weezing coming to his side, he prepared for a hell of a fight against the witch herself.

As for Monique she knew exactly where she needed to go, to find her sister. She still had her teammate and two Snagems of this reality to help her get there.

Three… two… hah! Yes! Mitsuki pulled out the drive from behind her back, trying to contain her triumph- only for her hands to be raised high and bound with psionic energy. “Frickin terrible…” She muttered sarcastically, death gripping the drive as hard as she could to keep it out of Ukilah’s psychic grasp. “Heh heh… I’m guessing there isn’t a way for us to burn a bridge together?” She laughed, hoping to keep the hybrid talking long enough to come up with some cobbled together counterattack. Although she wouldn’t have time to do so once Meg’s Weezing used Sludge Bomb and threw the Fame Witch across the room, giving the Electric Channeler time to break free of her psychic grasp. She slipped the drive into her pocket.

For a moment, Mitsuki reached towards her belt and pulled out a Poke Ball to help Meg out in the fight, but his order to leave made her hesitate. It Ukilah got her Shadow Tag up again, then she might actually be able to capture him. She sent out her Venusaur anyways. “Worry Seed on the psychic one, now come on the lot of you!” She said, pointing to the Gothitelle hybrid before turning and making a break for it. The Grass type that emerged hopped along after her trainer, but only after kneeling forward and firing a single seed from the top of it’s tree at Ukilah. If they couldn’t just teleport in on account of what she assumed to be Ebonite lining the Radio Tower’s walls, they probably couldn’t teleport out either.

“Hey, so newbie where’re we headed then?!” Mitsuki asked Monique mid run.

Monique blushed as Ukilah blew her a kiss. How did I feel that...through my...suit? This was really uncomfortable, but...

Abruptly, Meg tossed out a Poké Ball. Weezing, Galarian. Poison/Fairy. The Poison Gas Pokémon. This Pokémon consumes particles that contaminate the air. Instead of leaving droppings, it expels clean air. The attack caught the room off guard.

"Get out of here! I'll hold her off!" The Weezing's gas and sludge produced a mess—one that, if someone might have looked in the chaos amid all the Neutralizing Gas, would have revealed a Zoroark hybrid in what looked like a fancy spacesuit, not an unassuming woman.

Monique started running with Sundaria and Mitsuki. "So newbie where’re we headed then?!" Mitsuki called out.

"I'm just following my beacon," the sheriff sighed. "It says she's two kilometers this way." The path wound through what seemed like densely populated residential and commercial corridors, with businesses ranging from gyms to convenience stores to pain clinics. Someday, she'd wonder exactly what a pain clinic in this world did, but that did not occur to her in the moment.

The distance counter crept steadily down as they ran alongside the busy boulevard, but Monique had no clue as to what sort of situation she would find. Until it came into view: a ten-story building occupying what looked to be a large campus. Unlike the other buildings, it had ample parking. A large monument sign, a pillar alongside the road, bore its name: Goldenrod University Hospital.

The sheriff stopped to collect her breath. "She's in a hospital. If they treat her like they treat you, she might die!" Her emotions were revved up, a shot of adrenaline in spite of the jog from the Radio Tower. Every alarm bell was going off.

As she waited for a reply, she saw and heard an ambulance, sirens wailing, rush down the road alongside them and pull in to the emergency room. She hoped it wasn't Kasumi. Does this world have tapu to pray to?
