is this good like the general area of shading.... with the light source being in the top left cornor

Is the light behind her or in front of her or to the side? Right now it's hard to tell because there's no indication of how far away the light is compared to where the character is standing.

If the light is behind them, all of the front would be in shadow o.o

its mostly like just diagnally above her and small bit behind her

Don't forget that shadows also show form 3nodding

smudging the shadows across the shirt will flatten it out. Gradating the shadows around the form and shapes in the figure it'll make them pop out. For blocked light use hard shadows. 3nodding

ooh I see that you're not afraid to draw hands in that one pic there XD

Keep drawing hands biggrin they are complex but with practice you'll have them down nicely

For your lines I see you got a lot of jaggedness. X3 Don't be afraid to make long strokes instead of many short ones when drawing out a line. If it isn't what you wanted it to be, lay down another line.

biggrin drawing lightly will help so you can make many light lines then darken the one you'd like to keep and erase the rest!

lol very silly

it looks like the character is leaning to the left

:3 watch the balance when drawing characters > w< this one likes like they're about to tip over! Square their feet on the ground (even if one isn't showing razz ) so they're more balanced. biggrin remember

even if chibis have really really big heads and little bodies, they still look balanced 3nodding

I don't know how timely this advice is D:
Perhaps make the toes more similar to the ones on the hind legs? Toes that stick out a bit more... with nails too? Dog anatomy really isn't my thing, eh? @__@

Hi guys! I'd really love some feedback on my most recent piece. This is only my first fully rendered cg on Painter so there's still a lot to experimentation going on. Any tips, suggestions, critiques would be highly appreciated!

I'm concerned about the monitor settings on my laptop. Are the colours too dark/light? Over saturated/dull? There was some issues with the head jutting out too far and the blurry/undefined hands. Have they been sorted out? Someone also pointed out the off-centered pose so that has been noted.
