Yea, doctors don't know s**t, not after 8 years of medical school and $100k of debt in student loans!!! ninja

Haha, yep. Here's hoping nothing too horrible happens.

I was being sarcastic... ninja Obviously a doctor with 8 years of intense schooling would probably know just a tad more than someone with no schooling.

So apparently one of my stitches came loose this morning while I was sleeping. And man, blood is one of the last things I would've expected I'd have to hand wash out of my own laundry. Seems to be better now though.

Still, the doctor's at least getting a phone call tomorrow. And in the meantime I need to find a way to keep myself from rolling over while sleeping...

see?...

I love happy accidents. I've been noodling around with custom brushes in Illustrator (up to 6 now; what can I say? It's fun X3), and accidentally made one that looks exactly (well, in an abstract way) like sakura petals being carried by the wind. Just made my life 1,000 times easier. Yay! X3 ♥

I knew you were being sarcastic. That's kinda why I was hoping nothing too horrible would happen.

Though in my defense, this seems to be more from something I did while asleep (rolling over) than any conscious disregarding of doctor's advice. Still...

actually lee, ive been miss diagnosed, and miss treated for a number of different things by not just doctors but head doctors of entire hospitals. If anyone thinks credentials are infallible ill have to show them pictures of my three week standing old poison ivy rash, that got miss diagnosed as simple allergy hives by two ER doctors.

then again... dont go to ER doctors for poison ivy. definately my bad.

Doctors might learn medical treatment after 8 years of schooling, but if any rich idiot ends up going to get his doctorates at yale, hell still be an idiot after graduation... but no even worse, he'll be an idiot with a doctorates from Yale.

I thought this was interesting when I found it and I didn't want to make a new thread so I'm posting it here. I came across this while looking for something entirely unrelated, and thought someone here would maybe be interested.

The origins and role of same-sex relations in human societies
By James Neill

It's a Google book, so it's a preview. But you can slowly read through it over the days on what is available (seems like most of the book is online). You can also save it with firefox plugins as I am doing since I don't have the time to read it and was merely interested in the early history part.

Still, seems like a useful book and a nice read. Dunno how scholarly it is, but meh. Maybe someone here will enjoy it. *Shrugs*

There is a split in my opinion on this precisely because of that. Doctors do know more than most of us do when it comes to their specialty, but lots of factors can still lead to misdiagnosis. They're human too after all. However, a big problem I see is healthdon'tcare for profit. Preventative care isn't as profitable as long-term illnesses that require expensive medicines long copyrighted for the expressed purposes of profiting off of the sick. Certainly makes me sick... stare

Misdiagnosis is because many conditions manifest themselves with symptoms that seem completely unrelated to the condition. Instead of telling us "Hey you have stomach cancer" your body's just like "Vomit, fever, headache, abdomen pain!!" it could either be a fever.... or it could be AIDS!!!

i totally agree... like i said those instances i experienced were when i took a poison ivy rash to the ER (only because it had inflamed my face D: ) ER doctors arent about diagnosis, they are about treatment, and have alot of other very seriously ill people that need their attention far greater. so i dont hold it agianst that doc at all.

and yeah you cant always be sure what a symptom of one illness is, and can easily missdiagnose one illness for another. but im talking more in just when a doctor has time to sit down and look and care about what im telling them.

but the end of the story is i took the same rash to a doctor at an Urgent care, he was this 80 year old man that could barely walk and he was like "THATS POISON IVY" just from looking at it and gave me steroids to treat it.

Okay, I need to stop having people sit near me in the computer lab that talk and chat and socialize and BE ANNOYING. I'm about to kill someone.

Yes but this is the library computer center and it's supposed to be quiet around here so people can study, and it just has to be a bunch of older teen black guys and one girl all going "wassap my *****?"

Also, today is Draw Muhammad Day, started by a bunch of guys on facebook and embraced by the political comic world. Fur Affinity has it as an announcement, the amount of funny a** pics on FA right now poking fun at the prophet is golden. I've heard Pakistan is banning facebook and youtube because of it, lol.

Here's my submission, more tasteful than brash.

I don't know enough about Muhammad to know if he was a kind guy or some desert warlord that killed those who didn't convert to Islam (I kinda figure the latter), but I made him sad for violence committed in his and Allah's name.

Yea, I feel it's, frankly. . . kind of dangerous. Extremists have shown they will go crazy at the slightest perceived slight to them/their beliefs. I don't like thinking about what this could result in.

I do like your drawing, though, Lee. Nice message.

From what I remember reading, he was a nice guy earlier in his life, but got kinda crazy in his later years and became more of the latter.

In other news, I apparently don't have any loose stitches. Doctor says the bleeding was probably due to some sort of pressure buildup from me sleeping on my side (which I'm trying not to do). He also doesn't seem to mind my bending the rules at all. Huh. I was honestly expecting to get some bitching about that.

I find it funny how a**l fursuiters can be about the unwritten rules of suiting. Such as, you can't talk while in suit, or you can't take your head off while in suit. Rules that apparently I have never seen written ANYWHERE yet all suiters know them. Now I've seen some newer suiters break those rules and I think they're cooler because of it.

Once during the con I was peeking into rooms to see what was going on, and I looked into a room that happened to be the fursuit photography room, and no one was out of suit, but this guy in a suit was gestulating wildly at me and I finally figured out I was "forbidden" to be in that room for some reason. As if photographing suiters was a private moment despite the photos going online later on. He could have just said "Hey you're not really allowed in here" instead of refusing to speak.

I guess it's something about "ruining the magic". What magic, I know there's a fat unbathed nerd in that suit razz .

You want to know what really ruins the magic? I'm sitting there yesterday looking at pictures from the con, and I see pics of two suiters and I'm like "hey those are nice suits, how cute, ect..."

And then I stumble upon gay a**l porn of the two suiter's fursonas, with body fluids all over. I went from "Oh hey that's cute" to "oh what's thi- FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!"

Yea, finding gay porn of cute fursuiters will ruin any magic. evil
