Sounded fair enough, Aden thought. "Alright, I can go with that. If you're ready to start, let's go, Geodude!" He wondered if he was a little quick to start, letting out Geodude as quickly as he did, but he shrugged it off.

Aden couldn't help if perhaps there was a little letting up, but he dismissed those thoughts fairly fast. He wasn't the only one working at things, and even if Ryan and Bizzard weren't, there wasn't much experience to gather from getting kicked around like a soccer ball.
Given Geodude's being in a similar vein as Mareep was, it was the perfect fight regardless. "Okay... let;s go ahead and start. Geodude, Tackle!" Hey, when there was nothing better to go in with, it'd work. Given the Pokemon's weight, having it rush to attack was viable anyway.

"Impatient isn't he? Shadow, Rock Smash!" Ryan commands. Shadow nods and runs towards the incoming Geodude. She leaps up and strikes out with her front paws. Yes, she would take some damage from the tackle, but the damage that Geodude would take on would be far worse.

"Not so much that as getting things start- whoa!" Aden found why being quick to cut to the chase was a bad idea. While Geodude did land a hit, it wasn't without taking one as well. Harsh at that. Being somewhat sturdy, though, it was able to shrug it off this time.
"Geodude, get yourself free!" This amounted to an attempt at hefting and tossing Shadow; think Rock Throw, only with puppies. Fleeting morbidity aside, he wasn't backing down that easily.

Ryan sees what the Geodude is attempting to do. "Stop him in his tracks Shadow! Ice Fang! " Ryan commands. Shadow's Teeth glow a bright blue and she bites down onto Geodude's arm, inflicting a very chilling bite. bad idea to try and toss this puppy.

And like that, Geodude was virtually out for the count. Sturdiness didn't mean much to attacks like that. "Wha... ugh." Cringing, he recalled Geodude and tried to think. He barely started, and was already doing shamefully.
It took him a bit before he settled on Raticate, having him resume the fight by rushing in with Quick Attack.

"Rushing in yet again? Shadow, Stand Tall and use Rock Smash!" Ryan commanded. Shadow took the hit and managed to get back to her feet. She then raised up and crashed her front paws into Raticate. Once again a good deal of pain would be inflicted.

It didn't take much longer for Aden to see that this wasn't going to end well. "Uh... Raticate, fall back." Taking the hard hit, Raticate was quick to run back to his trainer's side. He already saw he had nothing; by rushing in, he was more than susceptible to the counterattack. Range would've been an option, but neither of the two he used were good for it. That mostly fell on his other three.
In short, he was completely pinned. He couldn't make any leeway on Ryan this time. "Yeesh, I wasn't even a warmup."

Ryan takes a deep breath. " Yes, you didn't win the fight, but I hope you did learn something from it. That is always the key in any defeat." he explains to Aden as he give Shadow a quick pat on the head before recalling her. "I suggest we head on back. It is starting to get late and I am sure Blizzard will want to do some more training with you." Ryan says as he walks over to Aden.

"Lose, nothing." Aden said. As he saw it, he was utterly shut down before he could even try to start. The most he had learned, at least from this match, was a lesson in futility. "That was just shameful of me. Sorry for that. I'll... go on ahead."
He wasted no time in making his way back out of the forest, getting himself back to town so he could do to the Pokemon Center. His Raticate followed him the whole time, wondering what the heck this was all about.

Ryan watches him go and sighs. "Aye ya. it seems I did more harm than good. But, he will have to accept it, and grow stronger. If he doesn't, he might not even make it to Mahogany." he says softly to himself.
Ryan offers a parting prayer of thanks to the Forest Shrine, then slowly strolls his way out of the forest. He was in no rush to get back. He figured Aden and Blizz were going to need a good bit of time to talk. Maybe he would stop by and see Kurt.

I was in the Pokemon Center still, near a large window at the front of the building and sipping on Coca-Cola as I waited for my Pokemon to be healed by the nurse. That was let alone the fact of that I was waiting on match's end, but something struck me off guard. I turned where I sat and leaned over to get a good look out the window. I sensed Aden...coming back here? Did he get lost in the woods or couldn't find Ryan? That was...kind of quick...
