With the sky as dark as it was and the bad rainfall, Damien was surprised with himself that he was out and about. It’s not as if he was walking without purpose, there were some things he needed to fetch before the flood came through. He knew the weather channel said not to risk it, he should’ve listened seeing how he traveled to the wrong side of town. He was still getting used to his new surroundings, but he definitely made a poor decision to travel in severe weather. The use of his umbrella wasn’t enough to shield him from the weather, not much of him was dry but nevertheless he refused to tuck his umbrella away. Going home was the only logical thing for him to do, he had to get out of his wet clothes before hypothermia set in. It was bad enough he could already feel himself getting sick from the exposure.
The scenery added a creepy aspect to his little stroll as well. He was sure that on a bright day this place was gorgeous and alive, but he felt as if he wandered into an abandoned park where several dark events once took place. It didn’t settle his mind of the potential dangers that could occur during his commute. Damien was internally beating himself up for going against his better judgement to stay indoors. He should’ve at least put on a rain coat or warmer clothes or bought an umbrella that was bigger instead of one that looked cute. Letting out a deep sigh he dragged his feet as he walked along the stone pathway.
The only thing he should be focused on was going home and getting there quickly. He could beat himself up later about his idiotic decisions, now was not the time to do so. Getting lost in thoughts was a dangerous thing to do in public, he had to be aware of his surroundings and not distract himself so easily. Hopefully he remembered how to get home from here.

She must be insane. Trotting along the muddy grass, the orange and white cat braved the storm for no other reason than to get out and stretch their paws. Staying at Josh's was ideal for now, it was a warm roof over their head, but the sight of furnishings just made them reflect on all the things they struggled to obtain themselves. She already had the key to her new house, but with this freak weather system, she couldn't move in until it was over. For now she was stuck on the streets, or the couch of kind strangers. Well, in the case of Josh, the guest bedroom. He seemed rather aloof and almost afraid to get close to her; which was fine. Karlee-Ann wasn't much of a people person herself, so the awkwardness was normal; though awkward, obviously. A flash of lightning illuminated yellow eyes, the pupils dilating into familiar slits as the light was to bright for their eyes. Thankfully no one was out today, or at least not many, because seeing a 500lb tiger, give or take a few pounds, would have made anyone lose their mind.
This feeling of wet, heavy fur was so uncomfortable for her. She tried to shake herself dry but it was a futile effort as the rain continued to pour without stopping. Letting out a growl of frustration, it mixed with a boom of thunder, drowning out into nothing. Either way, she would be suffering, wet. She needed to find a-- Karlee-Ann's feline eyes darted over her left shoulder when her ears picked up the sound of rushing water. Her musclebound body tensed at the sight of water rushing towards her! Looking around, she needed to find a branch or something that would be high enough from the initial wave to avoid being swept away. Was that--! The tiger was taken aback by the sight of someone strolling down the stone pathway, never knowing the water was coming. She may have hated people but she couldn't very well let them drown! At least while she nearby to save their lives. A life debt wasn't the worst thing to be owed. Powerful claws extended and dug into the pathway to push her forward with enough momentum to begin slightly outrunning the flood. With a roar, Karlee-Ann, in her tiger form, bum rushed the young man she saw walking alone; trying to get him out of the way.

Most of the time, Karlee-Ann used her feline form to scare people. Get a rise out of them. Plus, as a cat she didn't have to deal with the day to day. She didn't have to hussle for food. Steal to keep warm. Worry about a place to stay. It seemed that everything was better as a tiger; at least to her. When she found out about her wacky gift, she was too intrigued to ever be scared. Sure, she had to occasionally outrun animal control and that was scary, but most of the time no one bothered her. Normally that was all she wanted, was to be left alone. She grew up alone and that was what she knew best. Every once in a while though, she had a strange craving for attachment. Karlee-Ann had no idea where the feeling came from because she had never been close to anyone; even family. Especially family. Maybe it was a feeling from deep down. Way, deep down!
Golden eyes narrowed when they watched the young man try and outrun them both. Running at top speed for a tiger, she could only last so long before she would need a rest and would be unable to outrun anything. They would both end up being swept away. Taking her eyes off him, she swung her massive head to the left and right, looking for a branch low enough that she'd be able to jump to with him as extra weight. When she found one closing in, she had to push her body even further because she knew the risks if she didn't. A determined growl escaped through gritted canines as she felt her powerful muscles drive her harder. She wasn't this strong normally. Karlee-Ann realized that when in her feline state, she took on the traits of that particular cat. Tiger? Powerful enough to go toe-to-toe with a grizzly. Gaining on him, she lowered her head just enough to come between his legs and swing him onto her back using the muscles in her neck. In a near instant, she was turning to the left, her back paws sliding on wet rocks and jumping onto the low hanging branch. It was still high enough that they were safe from the rushing water, but close enough that she could make it relatively easily with another 120lbs on her back.

Everything happened too fast, it took him some time to process all that occurred. The one thing he was sure of was he wasn’t immediately made into kitty chow. Everything else was a slight blur to him, he could still feel his heart beating rapidly in his chest as he clutched his shirt. His eyes were locked on the water rushing beneath them, for some reason a sense of comfort didn’t wash over him, he was very much still afraid of what could happen next. He did come back to his senses once he saw a piece of slime hit his pant leg. It was the last thing Damien needed right now, he had to find some way to calm himself down before he became one with the tide. If anything, him starting to melt would only stress himself out more.
Without hesitation he reached his hand over and began to pet the beast near him. It was dangerous for sure, but it helped. The tiger proved to be kind of friendly, it should be reassuring to them both, right ? He sure as hell hoped so, Damien wasn’t ready to live his life without any limbs.
Without making any eye contact he lowered his hand from the tiger’s head after calming down. “Uh, thanks I guess ? I definitely would’ve been swept away.” Damien wasn’t sure if the tiger could understand him, but he wouldn’t feel right if he just kept quiet. He wasn’t sure what to do now. They were both stuck here with no clear answer on what to do now. Would they wait the water out ? Who knows how long that would be.
