Crenn Have you taken him to a specialist (ie a vet for snakes?)? Also what about mice? I TRIED a mouse, our vet is doing her best, but hes a hard case. She's never seen this before...
Tolera Oh, NG ;.; I'm sorry. I know how excited you were when you got him. Have you told a vet about his eating habits? Have they said anything to you about it? Crenn: She already SAID mice. I was excited, but we decided tosell him. Yeah. S'not happening, we're both attatched, he's just got so much PERSONALITY! the vet is doing her best, but all shes finding is two parasites * we took care of* and gas...he should be eating...
Sheol Kitten There's got to be someone who can help.. Alas, I'm horrible with snakes. ~Shudder~ There are, but they're stumped too. i've consulted experts, and they've never heard of this before. Don't worry, not everyone likes snakes... I sure do. heart
Crenn I hate deadly snakes, but I'm not too afraid of them.... also I got freak out when one was watching me, but it just slithered off. And Tolera... she didn't say mice directly, but I guess mice are rodents. Sorry sweatdrop
I said mice. Didnt I?... Oh, and, it wasnt nessisaraly watching you. smile They cant blink, and if its looking at you straight on, it cant really see you. Also, depending on the snake, if your more then five feet away *WHICHYOUSHOULDBEIFITSVENOMUS* then it cant see you. I'm not scared of venomus snakes. I think they should be treated with respect.

NG, you're not thinking rationally. Your attachment to you pet has become your weakness. Things live and then they die. If you have tried all you can to make him well and nothing works, then what should you do? I mean, if you can't make him eat, you can't make him eat.
Sorry, but that's the way I see it. I don't care if you're mad at me, because that's the way things are. At least, to me.
I tried in vain to save my dog. I did. She got very sick, and would not eat nor drink for almost two weeks. She was severely dehydrated, and whatever we tried to put into her merely came back up. I didn't care, she had to try to live, because I loved her. And you know what? I learned that sometimes, you can't save the things you love, because some ******** thing out there in life wants to kill what you hold dear.
My dog died. She didn't die peacefully, in sleep, as I had wanted her to. I found her the next morning, just dead. The vet said she had been so weak and dehydrated that she just.......dropped dead. It must have been excruciating for her to go through that, to know that I wanted to save her and that there was nothing I could do to save her.
And that's all I wanted to say.

Sheol Kitten Fog, don't say that. There has to be a way. My kitty, Mickey, is dying. Well, we all figured that since he's 15yo, that this is just the end of the road. So I've just been sitting here trying to keep him comfortable. Guess what? Mickey's just sick and dehydrated. Talking to NG, we got it figured out mostly and I've been forcing water into him every half hour. He's been feeling better enough to fight me and try to claw me up! whee But if I hadn't had tried, and hadn't forced him to drink, he might have just died in his painful suffering way. ~Ignoring her brother who just want to bash his head in to save him from suffering~
NG, is it possible to liquify the food and get it down his throat? Or does it need to be solid? you can fluids from the vet, but that means sticking a needle under his skin....which if you're afraid of needles, I wouldn't suggest. Also..try nutrical, is a high caloric value paste which we give to elderly cats who can't eat very much. Or try a/d by Science Diet which is also high in calories and the animals seem to love it

She's been trying every damn thing she can think of. Solid, semi-solid, whatever, you name it, she's tried it. All sorts of animals too.
Also: sometimes you just can't. Sometimes you can't save them. It's a fact of life. Sometimes you can't save what can't be saved. I'm not saying that this is necessarily the case, but it could possibly be.
