CoffeeFox WeissVicious Teh Zombiefodder People get satanist mixed up all the time i laugh about it a lot but they are about self empowerment or am i wrong? Nature, empowerment, Gods and goddesses? The modern Satanist is just a really strong atheist who uses a sort of philosphy such as "Carpe Diem" and "I am my own God" that's in the raw, what it is. I own a satanic bible, a good read. Isn't a Satanic Bible just a regular Bible, except God is taken out, replaced with Satan and the word order is reversed?
uhh no lol. That's common misconception. There is no real Devil's bible like what you're thinking of, no such thing. My satanic bible is really just one huge manuscript written by Anton LaVey, he writes about his experiences as a young lad, he writes about the arguments against theology and such. The basics for agnostics and atheism essentially. then it goes deeper into the tools of Satanism, more popular is the ritual and ritualistic sayings. It also explains the core ideas of our Satanism and how the Satanism the Christian world likes to think of isn't really Satanism. Satanists are atheists, the devil-worshipers are in fact Christians as well for they believe in God and the Devil. let it be known we do not sacrifice virgin children and that garbage =)

Garek Maxwell Aradia Rosethorn Gaerek (Sp. My celly doesn't let me see past posts in the reply page) I can see in your siggy. He's one of my Parent deities and he's very kind and warm to his followers. Oh, I'm sure he's very kind and gentle when the lights go low and the wine starts to flow, providing plenty of warmth near the fire's glow. wink Sorry, I can't help it, it's just so easy with Anubis. xd Furries definitely changed his image to a...positive one though, I'll give them that. His image has always been positive- at least to the Kemets, his original followers. From the time he appeared in records as the God of the Dead (Before he stepped down to guide, and was replaced by Asar -Osiris-) he was seen as a good God. Kemet faith centers around death and it was/is not viewed as a graven event. Modern day we see him as a guide for the dead and the living. Partner to our conscience.

Oh, sorry, I meant in popular culture...to some extent... Furries aren't really part of popular culture just yet.
But I meant how most people tend to view Anubis like Death (black robes and scythe guy, comes from Greek myth with Styx. Forgot his original name.). So it's generally not a positive outlook, mostly because death isn't seen positively either.
Furries, however, make him out to be more like Dionysus, with all the sex and fun he has. xd ...I haven't seen him depicted as drinking a lot though, so maybe another god would be more comparable... Still amusing, and I certainly don't mind. razz
Very interesting how he was seen even as far back as then. I knew ancient Egyptians tended to view death positively and life was just a struggle, just didn't think they viewed him as the most positive figure in their religion. Maybe I misremember or misread something, but for some reason I recall many of their gods being more feared than loved.

KillerLee [-Erik-] Am I the onlt one that doesn't get it? D: The picture? I think it refers to the fact that Anubis, the god who escorted the dead to the underworld (and judged them? With the whole putting the heart on a scale?), but furries have turned him into a sex fiend.
Actually, Ma'at is the one who does the judging (her feather is what is used to weigh the heart against). Anubis(/Yinepu) is just the guide. 3nodding

Yeah, it is a pretty common mistake people make when it comes to Anubis. He is the Egyptian version of Hermes/Mercury. Both Grimm Reapers (Death) of sorts as it is there job to lead the dead to the underworld.
