Did I tell y'all about that skink I dissected a couple weeks back? I can't remember if I did...
Anyways, I did it...FOR SCIENCE.

You can do anything as long as you say it's FOR SCIENCE.
On an unrelated note, my friend made fun of me today because, despite the horrors I write, I'm deathly afraid of needles.

All needles or just the medical ones?

I tolerate them, but I just don't like that weird/icky feeling I get when they're under my skin. Especially when I have to flex my hand while they take blood. Eugh.
Needles not in the hands of medical professionals however, make me skittish and germophobic on sight. The only reason I tolerated that kid with diabetes leaving her needles around was because I got to stab her with them on a daily basis. "This is for almost giving me AIDS last week." *stab*
It's an understandable fear though.

Syringes.
Especially ones with large needles.
I think it's the thought that it's not really a solid needle, but a little sharp tube that they stick into your flesh, to inject you or draw blood.

I've never had bloodwork done. .__.
I think the last time I got a shot was in the 4th grade. I'm not sure.

My older brother and I have come to the conclusion that surgeons, nurses and who ever else has to jab or cut living people as part of their job, are slightly sadistic. Yeah, they're doing it because they want to help people or make money, but it takes a lot to actually want to do that job... Dentists are the worst... Can't you just put a silencer on that drill?! gonk

I've got fiends in nursing and med school. Should I message them and ask them?

Aren't we glad we live in a generation where we have anesthesia?
Also, it isn't really sadism that drives them, it's more of a morbid curiosity.
That being said, if it didn't take so much time/money, I'd be in the medical field.
