One of a litter of 13 cubs, Kuza is a well adjusted lioness, and is devoted to her family and the pride. While she has a natural kindness she is also a full Firekin and proud of her pride. A natural warrior she tempers strength with patience and violence with honor. She would never beat up someone weaker than her, though if a lion was being unruly, she would step forwards and stop them with a swift paw swipe. In balance, she will defend those that need aid against a bully and is certainly not above 'paying back' the bully's actions to themselves. She can be hot headed at times but has a good heart.

Gruff, stern and generally far too grumpy for his own good, Ṭhaṇḍa'Lau is one tough fighter. He adheres to his own sense of honor and will not break it. Many consider him uptight or just downright cold but there is a story behind the mean persona he puts on. Not that just anyone will ever get the tale out of him, he keeps his real feelings locked up so tight inside, even he is unsure if he still retains the ability for emotion.

He had a typical start in life. One of a small litter born to rogue parents, when they came of age the cubs gradually dispersed into the savannah. He found himself a girl and while it was not easy courting her, he finally plucked up the courage to ask her to be his mate. She agreed and the pair, young though they were, formed a very happy little family. Their first litter came along, two healthy baby boys. Things seemed to be going well but as ever happens in these kinds of tales, all was not as it seemed. The female had a brother, a very jealous and cold hearted brother who didn't like the fact that another male had taken his darling sister from his side. He heard of a band of assassins, black leopards who kept to dark ways and practiced dark arts. It was this band he went to and asked for the male's head on a plate. The pride accepted and sent two of its apprentices to do the job, having graded the hit as low in skill.
But the brother had underestimated Ṭhaṇḍa'Lau and forgotten to tell the assassins that the woman and cubs were to be kept alive. Once the dust finally settled, the lioness and her two cubs were dead, slain in the fight after having been held hostage by the leopards. Ṭhaṇḍa'Lau himself was grievously wounded, having battled two trained and pain-hardened assassins. Only his sheer strength kept him alive that day and it was strength of will that kept him going after his family had been slaughtered. He found and killed the jealous brother though to this day he regrets that the male did not suffer as he has suffered. Broken and heart-sick he closed himself off from the world and lived the life of a brawler, constantly looking for fights and hoping that one day, he would meet his match and finally follow his mate to the afterlife. Not because his love for her had endured, as it had not, buried and corrupted by the hate he felt for her brother, but he simply lost the will to live and wished to die if only to end the pointless life he now leads. Yet for all he seeks death, he will not loose a fight on purpose or let himself be killed easily, his pride is still strong enough that he refuses to take the cowards way out. So he is stuck in this half-life until someone can take it from him, tooth and claw.
It was by accident that he heard about the firekin pride, and the self same deathwish that led him to them bids him fight for the right to join. For surely in a whole pride of fighters, there will be one strong enough to take him down....

Spunky, smart and fearless, there is not much this lioness will not do or try. A true force to be reckoned with in battle, she is brave and intelligent, often turning an impossible situation into a success with a mix of cunning, guts and self sacrifice. The betrayal of her pride hurt her deeply and she has become more suspicious than she used to be. While she may appear cold at first, the fire of passion burns brightly within her and her spirit is undaunted.

The daughter of the Emperor out of his second (and favored) wife, she was his favorite child. He taught her martial skills and she became a master of the martial arts. Several neighboring prides stated she was a lioness with incredible strength and skill. As she hit adolescence she was forced to work as a slave in the pride due to her father's first wife claiming she had been stealing from the royal treasury, which was of course a fabrication, but Chang Chu, the Empress, suspected her husband wished to place his eldest daughter on the throne instead of her own younger son, who was the rightful male heir. As a slave she was forced to fight other slaves daily in big matches that were the pride's entertainment. Liang Hongyu quickly made a name for herself as an entertainer. Her martial arts skills enabled her to become one of the best female wrestlers the pride could boast although she remained a slave.
She grew to adulthood in the ring, now famous enough to have considerable social standing in the pride irrespective of her 'official status'. She met her husband, Han Shizhong, at a banquet where she was entertaining the troops that Han lead. They married and she was officially released from her slavery. Soon after a rival pride invaded, Liang Hongyu and her husband led their army against the rebels and decimated them. Afterwards, Liang was rewarded with noble rank of 'Archduchess of Yang' which was not related to her husband's rank. This was unique in the pride's history since most noble woman got their rank through their husbands.
However, many of the pride's royal family resented Liang Hongyu's success. When the old Emperor passed away and the young heir took his throne, the Empress Chung Chu took control of the pride through her son. A trap was set for Liang Hongyu and her husband. Liang Hongyu was sent to raid a rival pride with a small elite force of warriors. However, her force walked into an ambush. Not only they were outnumbered 10 to 1, but the 'pride' was actually a pad of assassin-trained leopards the Empress had hired to kill Liang Hongyu. The pad was the most fearsome force on the savannah, completely lethal, expert killers and each one a master of their trade, they were almost invincible. Her small force was wiped out but she managed to fight her way free and returned to her pride with the intention of reporting the attack. But on her arrival she discovered her husband had also been slain in an ambush and that she herself was being branded a traitor. Unable to accept such injustice from the pride she had loved, she turned away from the shambles her life had become and left, never to return.
She survived as a rogue for some time, until she eventually heard tales of a pride of red coated warriors, fierce and loyal. Deciding to investigate she headed towards the Motoujamii, and hopes that one day she might return to her old pride with a force of firekin warriors to punish the old Empress and take her father's throne by force.
