Isaac Hawking A piercing glare gleamed within the raging Primeape's eyes; how deranged and confused was this thing really? As Sub's imp charged headfirst into the fray, the wrathful ape lashed out, swinging arms wide and attempting to intercept the attack. "Hah!" Chuck barked out a laugh at Sub's remark. "You mistake my methods, young one! The trust I share with my Pokémon is absolute. Thanks to our intensive training, Primeape's instincts are honed so that he can still fight effectively while within the grip of Outrage." The Primeape was certainly going at it viciously. The earlier strike was followed up with a flurry of blows, raining down towards the Sableye. "APE! APE! APE!" Each strike accompanied by a staccato shriek, accentuating the pounding blows. 1-5 hurt self in confusion, 6-10 attack hits. Die roll of 6 to 10 to recover from confusion. Poe would get clipped by one or two of the blows but for the most part the Dark type was able to dodge and avoid the wild blows mostly thanks to the ape's own confused state, the Primeape even accidentally slugging its self in the face at one point. Was kind of funny to watch. "Yeeeaaah...if you say so...another Zen Headbutt, Poe." Sub ordered, trying not to laugh or poke too much fun at this situation. Poe wouldn't comment further himself, he just wanted to end this humiliation as he charged forward again with a psychic chi powered forehead slam.

As Poe dashed towards Chuck's Primeape, the raging monkey turned, and for the first time since the match began, calmly faced its opponent. The ape, actually closed its eyes for an instant as it drew in a breath. When those eyes reopened, they burned with a bottled outrage to put its previous outbursts to shame. A fist, seemingly glowing with sinister energy, lashed out in a blink of an eye. The devastating impact intercepted Poe, catching him in the face. The imp Pokemon careened back in a spray of sweat, spittle, and...was that a tooth? The outraged onslaught didn't cease, however. Primeape launched forward, blazing fists falling as a downpour upon the Sableye, pounding the Pokemon into the floor. Chuck's response to Sub's remark went unheard, drowned out by the relentless cries, "APE! APE! APE! APE! APE!"

Poe was getting pummeled alright, and Sub could do little more than wince as he watched his Sableye take the abuse. He needed to shut down this monkey and quick or else Poe was going to get knocked out soon. "Give him a taste of his own medicine! Metal Burst!" The Dark One ordered. While Poe took the abuse his gems began to give off a silver gleam before turning into a full on bright silvery flash of light. The strange light would envelope Poe and when Primape struck the imp he would find the light hit back at twice the strength.

The fading light revealed the Primeape, battered and bruised, but still trying to stammer to its feet. A new light interrupted the struggle, enveloping the monkey in a pale red light. Chuck, replaced the Primeape's Pokeball with another, bouncing the new one in his hand as he eyed up Sub once more. "Not bad, whelp. Not bad. But, let's see if you can handle something a little different." Tossing the ball forward, he proceeded to bellow, "Hydro Pump!"
A new flash of light revealed Chuck's signature Poliwrath, who wasted no time in following Chuck's command. Gurgled cries of, "WRATH!," accompanied several pressurized geysers of water, bombarding Sub's imp with a barrage of pressurized torrents.

There wasn't much Poe could do, that ape had really gave it a work over so low and behold the jet of water would slam into the poor imp, launching him off the ground and soon dispatching him onto the hard wet ground unceremoniously and it is there where Poe would lay, knocked out cold. "Whelp? Come no, certainly you can come up with less cliche insults." Sub said as he recalled Poe. "Either way, let's keep this battle going." The man said as he stashed away Poe's Dusk Ball and pulled out another. "Legrand, Thunder Fang!" He cried out as he pitched the Dusk Ball into the air. The device would spiral up and burst open in its iconic shadowy display, a giant purple scorpion emerging from the darkness and slamming onto the wet floor. As soon as the Drapion hit the ground it charged towards the Poliwrath, its maw open wide and its fangs covered in a cloak of electric chi which made them much longer than they physically were.

The blue frog lifted and planted it's right leg, as it crouched into a traditional sumo squat with its hands outstretched towards the rocky gym floor. Strong and sturdy legs began to propel the tadpole Pokemon into an aggressive charge. A spray of rocks, gravel, dust, and debris fanned outwards from outstretched hands, as they shoveled into the ground. As the Drapion and Poliwrath barreled towards one another, the frog brought its hands up in a mighty double uppercut. The earthy blow squarely connected with the scorpion's chin with enough force to snap its jaw shut and lift the creature from the ground, as the electric chi fizzled out ineffectually across the spray of shoveled earth and debris.

"Toxic, Legrand!" He shouted. Legrand would fight through the pain in order to grab a hold of Poliwrath just long enough to keep it still while it thrust its tail over its head, the claw-like appendage clamping down on the Tadpole Pokemon just long enough to inject a highly toxic substance into its body. Whether or not it succeeded the Drapion would attempt to regain some distance from its opponent by throwing its tail claw backwards and grabbing onto the ground to pull its self away.

As the tail reached over to grab an upraised arm, Poliwrath responded by grabbing the protruding appendage. Pulling the tail down, the frog executed a rolling throw, heaving the scorpion over its head. As the Drapion careened into the gym floor, Chuck barked out his next command, wasting no time to let the dust settle or the scorpion to recover, "Bulldoze!" Once again, the tadpole extended its arms to the floor and charged, the spray of onrushing debris resembling an unstoppable snowplow crashing through everything in its path.

Sub mumbled as he watched the Drapion get tossed into the air, this was bad. Fortunately before the Poliwrath managed to make Legrand airborne the scorpion was able to whip its tail around and pull off its Toxic, injecting the Poliwrath with the deadly poison anyways. That said it didn't save it from being dispatched onto the ground so unceremoniously. "Venoshock!" Sub called out as the Poliwrath charged his Pokemon. From his laying down position Legrand could see the tadpole Pokemon coming straight for it. Its attack was probably going to hurt but it had to do something, whether or not it stopped its charge was one thing but at least it would make it pay a price for it. "Pion!" Shouted the Drapion as it spat out a large glob of goop at the incoming Poliwrath once it was close. If the Poliwrath was touched by it in any way, even if it stepped on it, the poisonous loogy would seep into the Pokemon's skin and cause a reaction with the Toxic venom already in its body. The reaction would be extremely painful as the Venoshock would cause the Toxic's venom to become extremely active in the Poliwrath's body but whether or not it was enough to slow down or even stop the charging Pokemon was up for debate.

Unfortunatly, the venomous loogy was caught up in the shower of rock and earth, splattering it aside and away from the onrushing Poliwrath. With a thunderous crash, the Bulldoze connected with the weakened Drapion in a explosion of rock, earth, and other bits of gym floor. As the dust cleared, Poliwrath would be revealed standing over Legrand, attempting to shake off the pain from the poison that was working its way through its system. It didn't seem to be working too well, though. Perhaps a droplet or two of Venoshock didn't get sprayed away after all. "Good try there, kid," Chuck called out from across the gym, absentmindedly bouncing his third Pokeball up and down in the palm of his hand. "But you will need to do better than that to take me down, much less the rest of the gym leaders or the Elite Four."

"In the word of a famous Unovan naval fighter, I have not yet begun to fight." He declared as he tossed the Dusk Ball onto the field. "Mala!" Shrieked Ulalume the Malamar as she appeared from the swirling vortex of darkness conjured by the Dusk Ball. "Psycho Cut!" The man cried out to his squid. The Overturning Pokemon would let out another shrill as it launched its self off the ground, propelling its self towards the Poliwrath with its psychic powers. As it neared the Pokemon would make slashing motions with its glowing tentacles, sending blades of Psychic energy at the Poliwrath before it.

As it neared the Pokemon would make slashing motions with its glowing tentacles, sending blades of Psychic energy at the Poliwrath before it. Chuck raised an eyebrow as the upside-down squid emerged onto the gym battlefield, but that was all the surprise or hesitation that he showed. "Alright Poliwrath! Spin to Win! Counter!" The tadpole Pokemon rushed in, disregarding what injuries it had already suffered. As the first attack landed, the frog quickly began to spin with the force of the attack. As successive strikes landed, Poliwrath spun faster and faster, each blow adding power and momentum to the swirling rotation. With a ferocious roar, "Po! LI! WRAAAAAAAAAATH!" the muscular Pokemon launched itself at the target in a terrifying display of just how much determination, strength, and fighting spirit still remained in the battered Pokemon. The furiously whirling Counter counter crashed into the hovering Malamar, slamming the Overturning Pokemon into the ground with a thunderous impact. The landing, however, was less impressive. Weakened from the psychic blows it had absorbed, Poliwrath missed the landing and sprawled itself across the floor. For a moment, the tadpole Pokemon attempted to lift itself up off the ground, but to no avail. As it collapsed, it was enveloped with a flash of red light as Chuck recalled his fallen Poliwrath. "HAH!," Chuck barked a laugh, as he replaced Poliwrath's ball on his belt, still bouncing a third in his other hand. "That was something. Poliwrath hasn't been that fired up over a challenge match in quite some time." Snatching the other ball out of the air, he grinned as he flung the ball out onto the gym floor. "Let's see how you handle something a bit different!" The emerging figure seemed to loom over the battlefield as it glared down at its opponents while it growled menacingly, "Pan...go...ro."

That hurt, that really hurt. The Malamar would float back to an upright position, leaving the small indent it made into the ground upon impact. While the squid certainly took a hard hit it could still throw down, and throw down it intended to do. "Huh, Pangoro, well color me surprised." Sub commented. "Didn't think I would be seeing a Kalos native Pokemon here in Johto, especially one that I so desire and has alluded me once before. Ah well, as the Kalosians say, c'est la vie." He said with a shrug. "Ulalume, use Reflect." The squid let out a little growl as its eyes lit up, a bubble of cool blue energy appearing around it to better protect it from physical attacks.

Raising an eyebrow, Chuck looked at Sub askance. "Really? Reflect?" he remarked. "Is that supposed to slow us down? Pangoro, shatter that with a Brick Break." The overbearing bear swept forward with a speed surprising for something of its size. Clasping both paws together, overhead, the Pangoro slammed down upon the Upside-down squid, shattering the Reflect into tiny shards of chi and wisps of energy.
"Keep the pressure up!" Chuck called out from across the gym, "X-Scissor!" The daunting Pokemon stepped forward, keeping itself in the Malamar's face, before flinging its arms wide out to the side. Extending wickedly sharp claws from its paws, those same arms swung around in a dual horizontal chop, aimed directly at Ulalume's head.

Sub replied to Chuck as he watched the Pangoro shattered the Reflect and slammed its fists into Ulalume. "Now! Destiny Bond!" The Dark One cried out. In response to the command a small glow could be seen from Ulalume's tentacle, 'hair'. It was its held item activating, a Cutsap Berry said had found way back when, he would have to (unfortunately) thank Lum later. The berry would give Ulalume just the right amount of speed and reaction time to get its move in before the X-Scissor hit. A small red beam would fire from its chest, where its alleged heart should be. The red beam would connect with the Pangoro's own chest and remain there, connecting the chi of the pair. When the X-Scissor hit there was no way for Ulalume to survive, and that's exactly what Sub wanted for when Ulalume fainted the red beam which connected them would attempt to rob Pangoro of all its strength and make the panda faint along with its destiny bound enemy. "That's what it was for." Sub smiled as he recalled his squid. "Now for something even more unconventional. Come on out, Gardy!" The man declared, starting to become way too ecstatic over this battle, sending out the only Pokemon that could match his enthusiasm. "Yay! I get to battle!" Gardy squealed into the minds around her.
