“Relationships are ropes. Love is a noose."

Sitting inside with so many electronics going and worrying about the photographer was getting him next to nowhere in his work. He needed to get stuff done. Picking up his laptop, he turned off the television and left his phone on the couch as he took his laptop outside to work on the patio. Samuel's patio was like one of those areas you saw in a Sear's catalog. Fresh manicured lawn, the plush outdoor couches with matching chairs surrounding a large fire pit. Throwing a few logs on the pit, Samuel lit a fire to keep himself warm. It wasn't the usual freezing cold today, but he liked the smell of the fire. It was calming and helped clear his thoughts. Setting down his laptop, Samuel went back into the house to grab a cup of coffee and a light blanket. If he was going to be doing work all day, he might as well get comfortable. Going back outside, he placed coffee mug on the ground and laid out on the couch. He sat back, opening his laptop again, sighing as he got back to work.

A couple of hours had passed and Samuel was almost done with his work. Coming outside had been a good idea. The fire was nice, the coffee was good, and this was the most relaxed he had been in ages. He had forgotten the photographer long enough to complete his work. Samuel soon set his laptop aside, stretching a bit and picking up his mug to find he was out of coffee. Sighing, he pushed back the blanket and headed inside. Going into the kitchen, he looked towards the living, curious if he should check his phone. The last time he check it was around four something and he didn't have a thing. He hadn't heard his phone ring so he knew he didn't have any missed calls, but he wasn't sure message wise since it only buzzed. Sighing, he set down his mug and walked over to grab his phone, swiping the lock screen as he saw he had three text messages. One was a reminder about his data usage for the month. Another was from Alaine wanting to know why he abandoned him last night and would he be coming in tonight. And the third was the least he was expecting, a message from Micha.

Reading the message three times, he thought about how to reply. His temper had definitely subsided, but he was still embarrassed about his behavior. He wasn't even sure he wanted to talk to the male. He didn't think the male wanted to talk to him. Samuel stared at his phone contemplating a reply. He in no shape, form or fashion wanted to seem anxious. Like he was just waiting around all day just for Micha to text him. But at the same time, looking at the time and date at when he received the text it had already been awhile since Micha sent it. So maybe Micha was the one waiting around for him and that made him even more nervous. Sighing he ran a hand through his hair. "What do you think, idiot?" he muttered, speaking more to himself than referring to Micha. After nearly ten minutes of arguing with himself, he finally bucked up the courage to send text back. "I did. But why do you care? I don't like you, remember?" Samuel hit sent before he could think of a reason to delete the whole thing and consider ignoring the male all together until the next time he came into the club. He went to go fill his coffee mug and headed back outside as his heart hammered in his chest. Why was he so nervous? It was only a text. It wasn't like the photographer was just going to magically show up at his home.

"Seeing as he wasn’t getting a reply any time soon. Micha slipped his phone into his pocket. He left his room as he wandered back into his office. Micha sighed as he sat back at his desk. He figured Samuel was probably just ignoring him now. Micha continued reading his email. He replied to a few letting his clients know he would get back to them when he could. Micha finished with his messages as stood up. He wasn’t getting much done at the moment especially not without an assistant. Micha figured the best thing to do was going on a hiatus for a while.

A few hours later, Micha was no longer at home. He had left the house and had gotten on the subway. Micha hadn’t gotten any messages back from Samuel. He could only guess Samuel was still mad at him. Micha sighed as he held onto a pole as he maintained his balance as the subway moved. He slipped his hand into his coat pocket as he stood there. Micha knew it was late in the day but he was tired of sitting out home feeling miserable.

As he stood there, he felt his phone go off. Micha pulled his phone from his pocket and checked his message. He stared at the message as it pulled up. Micha looked the message over. He was surprised by the text Samuel sent him. Micha hadn’t thought he pissed Samuel off that much but apparently he did. He sighed as he typed his text, Do I need a reason to care? Micha sent the text as he stuffed his phone into his pocket. He wondered if Samuel was intentionally trying to push him or was he being serious. Either way, he wasn’t going to let it affect him yet.
                                                          "

“Relationships are ropes. Love is a noose."

Huddled up in his blanket, Samuel waited impatiently for the male to reply. He wondered if the male had thought his message to be rude. He hadn't been going for rude. He was teasing or attempting to. "Argh!! ********> Squirming in his seat, he wanted to chuck his phone into the fire pit. He didn't understand this photographer and why he wanted to mess with him so much. What happened to that little voice in his head that was supposed to figure these things out? Because the voice currently occupying his brain was ******** useless. He needed to calm down. He couldn't get worked up over a little text. Sighing he waited until his phone buzzed with another text. He read the words three times over, trying to understand the males tone. Was he mad? Upset? He didn't know. This was more frustrating than ignoring him entirely.

Samuel sat there with his blankets surrounding him and staring down at his phone trying to think of a reply that didn't make him come off as too much of a d**k. He sat there for almost ten minutes with little success, not knowing what to write. Everything that came to mind didn't seem to be helping his case in the still being mad department. Sighing again, he brought his phone up, deciding to just text the first thing that came to mind. If it made him seem like the world's most insignificant jerk, then that was something he was going to have to live with. "Do you have a reason?" he replied curiously. Hitting send, he sighed and picked up his coffee mug. Taking another sip, he stared into the fire, noticing how low it had gotten since this afternoon and noting to add another log. It would be to have someone to sit out here with. The fire was cozy, the blanket was warm, he wondered if Micha would......Samuel shock his head as the thought came to mind. No way. He definitely didn't want to anything like that with Micha. He blatantly refused.

"Micha couldn’t help but care about Samuel. It was odd that he cared about him. He didn’t like things to be bad between them. Micha knew they had bumps in the road between them but he didn’t want to completely leave Samuel. He wasn’t content with the status of Bartender and customer. It seemed like such a lame excuse. Micha wasn’t asking for much really. He wasn’t asking for a relationship from Samuel. Micha was simply asking from something more than what they were now. He didn’t even care if they were bumped up to acquaintances; it was more than he had now.

As he stood on the subway, Micha leaned against the pole. He closed his eyes as he stood there. Micha didn’t know what to think at the moment except that Samuel hated him. He waited to see if Samuel would return his message. Micha wondered what time it was. He knew it was late; he was simply letting time pass. Micha felt his phone go off in his pocket after a while. He pulled it out as he opened his eyes. Micha looked his message over. He couldn’t help but laugh softly. Micha found it amusing that Samuel simply turned his own question on him. He typed out his answer, No, I don’t have a reason. I care simply because I do. Micha hit send then slipped his phone back into his pocket. He relaxed as he let motions of the subway calm him.
                                                          "

“Relationships are ropes. Love is a noose."

To normal people it was getting late. For him the day was just beginning despite how long he'd been up. He shivered as the air was starting to turn cool, knowing he should probably go back in the house. He didn't want to though, not yet at least. Feeling his phone go off, he smiled at the text message. "You better, you hang around enough. It'd be weird otherwise." he murmured. Tossing back the blanket, Samuel stood from his seat with his phone in hand and took a couple of steps back. It was still light enough to take a decent picture, but dark enough to make it a challenge. He snapped a shot of his Hamptons home, making sure the fire pit was in it as well. Attaching the photo to his message, he typed, "If you really care, come find me before the fire goes out. Good luck ;D " After hitting send, he added another two logs to the fire, watching as the embers flew into the air, the fire raising higher and crackling every few minutes. He breathed in the wonderful smoky scent and went into the house to grab something to eat in the mean time and make a fresh pot of coffee.

Samuel sincerely wanted the other to find him. He liked when they talked, it bugged him when they didn't. He honestly didn't care if the other found him before or after the fire went out. He was more curious to know just how long it would take him to find this place that was so far away from the other Hampton homes that unless one knew where they were looking, couldn't even find it from the street. The road leading from his house to the main road was almost two miles long and surrounded by a stone wall with high bushes planted on top. There was no name on the iron gate, just a gold plated address under little hanging lanterns. Yes, this was certainly going to be some challenge he'd given the male. He would be lucky if Micha didn't show up angry for giving him such an impossible task. Chuckling at the thought, he took another sip from his coffee and nibbled on a peanut butter sandwich. "Catch me if you can, Mr. Photographer." he murmured to himself. He chuckled a bit more, even more glad that Micha wasn't here. It was clear he'd been alone too long today. Not only was he talking to himself, but laughing at his own jokes. Jeez, Micha certainly did know how to pick his men. All he could think of was wishing the other luck, he was going to need it.

After finishing his meal, Samuel brought his laptop back into the house and decided to make himself once more comfortable in front of the fire. He stared up at the star dotted sky, catching himself a few times as he dozed lightly. Micha needed to hurry up. Looking at the fire he had a good two or three hours before it would start to die again given a strong gust or bit of rain got there first. Pulling the blanket tighter around him, he stared into the fire, not even noticing as his eyelids began to droop. His head full of nothing but the photographer had put him in a better mood and he couldn't wait for him to get there.

"As Micha’s stop came up, he walked toward the door. He slipped off the subway and onto the platform. Micha pushed through the crowds of other people. He started toward the stairs as he phone went off again. Micha walked up the steps as he left the underground of the subway. He entered the busy street as pulled his phone from his pocket. Micha checked his message seeing a picture attached. He looked at the picture then at the message. Micha laughed as he looked the text over. He couldn’t believe Samuel was sending him on some wild chase to figure out where he was now.

By the time Micha managed to find the address Samuel’s picture matched, two and a half hours had gone by. He walked down the driveway as he started toward the door. Micha was tired after walking aimlessly for the last few hours. He probably would have given up the search if he wasn’t as determined as he was to accept the challenge Samuel issued him. Micha finally stopped at the door as he looked it over. He hoped he found the right one. Micha reached his hand out as he rang the bell. He stood listening to the chime as he stood outside waiting. Micha sighed hoping Samuel hadn’t fallen asleep. He looked down at his feet as he waited.
                                                          "

“Relationships are ropes. Love is a noose."

One leg hung over the back of the couch, the other dangled a bit off the cushion. He lay on his back with his right arm shoved behind a pillow behind his head while the left rested comfortably on his chest. His phone had gone off twice in the last few hours, both texts from his employees wondering where he was and when they should be expecting him. He ignored them both, not wanting to think about work right now. Samuel continued to doze lightly as Micha seemed to be taking his time getting here. After waking up a couple of more times, he simply decided to just lay there instead while sleep eluded him. After all, he was quite comfortable where he lay and had no thoughts of moving. Checking his phone it read it was nearing 8 PM. He wondered if the male was lost or simply gave up. What if he didn't take his challenge in the first place and that was why he never text back? Could it be Micha thought he was being too childish and decided to give up on conversing with him any longer today?

Sighing, he watched as his breath clouded up above him. If Micha did find him, he would probably throw a fit for him being stupid and staying out here for so long. It wasn't that cold to him. Not while he was all wrapped up and so close to the fire. While he laid there, time passed and he tossed another log to the fire to keep warm. Hearing the dull sound of a door bell, he looked up, curious if the male had made it. Getting up from his spot on the couch for what felt like the hundredth time today, Samuel shuffled around the side of the house to peak and see who was there. His eyes widened and a smile broke out on his face as he lived and breathed, there he was. He waited a minute to calm down so he didn't seem like he was too excited. He didn't think Micha would actually play his little game, but he did. It surprised the hell out of him and he definitely had to give the male some kudos for attempting such an impossible thing. After calming down, he came out from behind the house, smiling kindly towards the other. "You know you almost didn't make it in time. Fire was almost dead." Coming closer to the photographer, he leaned down and kissed the male in congratulations. It wasn't much of a kiss, just enough to shock the other after he realizes what Samuel just did. Pulling away, his grin widened, and he motioned for the other to follow him to where he'd been lounging all day.

"Micha stood there wondering if Samuel was going to open the door. He was starting to get cold as he shivered a little. Micha sighed as he suddenly heard movement. He turned to look to see Samuel coming from behind the house. Micha could only guess Samuel had been on the patio outside. He rolled his eyes as Samuel spoke, ”Well I would have been here sooner if…” Micha spoke suddenly cut off by Samuel’s lips pressed against his own. He was surprised by the sudden kiss; he didn’t have time to process it before Samuel pulled away. Micha stared at Samuel before he started to follow him. ”As I was saying…I would have been here sooner if I was given an address not a photo.” He spoke complaining though he didn’t mind. Micha found the challenge amusing and worth it. "

“Relationships are ropes. Love is a noose."

Samuel snickered at the males reaction. Definitely worth any future a** kicking he may receiving. The look on his face was priceless and only made it better as he tried to recall what he was saying. He groaned as the male complained about not being given a proper address. "Awe, that's no fun. Besides a little exercise never killed anyone. You're young. In with the good air and out with bad and all that crap." he replied. Leading the way around the side of the house, the fire continued to crackle. Coming around the outdoor sofa he resumed the spot he'd been sitting in all day, throwing the blanket back over his legs. "Have a seat." he said gesturing around him to the other empty spots. "Want some coffee or something to drink?" He made sure he wasn't too comfortable when he asked. He would have hated to have gone through the trouble of getting comfortable only to get up again. He watched the male for a moment, he hadn't the foggiest what he was going to say or do. Samuel couldn't even remember the reason he wanted the male to come over other than just wanting to see him. He didn't think Micha would be too pleased if he told him that was why he forced him to come find him. He would have ever right to be angry. But didn't it count for something that he purposely kept the fire going? Wasn't that proof enough he wanted to be found?

"Even though Micha complained, he wasn’t bothered by searching. He would have spent all night trying to find Samuel’s house if he needed to. Micha listened as Samuel groaned as he complained. He laughed softly knowing it hadn’t been that bad really for Samuel to send him off to find the house. Micha continued to follow Samuel around the house to his patio. He could hear the crackling of the fire as they emerged from the front of the house to behind it. Micha watched as Samuel slipped toward the couch and took a seat on it. He walked toward the couch as well as he took a seat beside Samuel. Micha looked over the fire as he felt the warmth from it. He slipped his hands into his pocket letting them warm up as he sat there. Micha nodded slightly, ”Sure, coffee would be nice.” He spoke figuring he could use something to warm himself up with and to drink. Micha shifted as he leaned forward and held his hands out toward the fire as he let them warm up. "

Samuel was thankful for the darkness. Hopefully the male wouldn't notice how messed up he was and that he was just winging it. He was nervous and didn't know what he was doing anymore. Nodding to the others' request, he tossed the blanket over the male, figuring him to be more cold than him. Samuel went into the house and grabbed another mug from the cabinet, filling it with coffee. Since he didn't know how the other took his coffee, he came back out baring little sugar packets and creamers he sometimes used along with a spoon. "Here." was all he said as he handed the male the mug and set the other stuff beside the pits edge. Seeing as he wouldn't be laying down with Micha sitting right there, Samuel slouched in his seat, propping his feet against a pit wall. He grabbed his own mug from the ground, taking a sip of the lukewarm liquid. He sat there quietly unsure of what to say or do. For the moment he didn't care if they said anything, he was just glad the male actually came out there. With nothing else better to say, he asked the obvious stupid question. "So did you manage to find a new assistant today?" he asked, already knowing the answer. He wouldn't be surprised if his coming to find Samuel was a part of his plan on going into hiding until he did find someone.

Micha looked back at the fire pit watching the flames as they rose and fell. He rubbed his hands together letting them warm up. Micha heard sounded behind him as Samuel was getting the coffee for him. He waited patiently till Samuel returned with his cup. Micha leaned back as he took the cup from Samuel, ”Thanks.” He spoke as he inhaled the scent of coffee. Micha grabbed two sugar packets as he opened them pouring the sugar into his coffee. He picked up the container of coffee creamer pouring some into his coffee as well. Micha grabbed the spoon as he stirred the contents together. He leaned back as he took a sip as he was pleased with the taste. Micha heard Samuel speak as he stared into the fire as he sipped on the coffee. He shook his head, ”Honestly…No. I didn’t do much today. I don’t really care to find an assistant any time soon.” Micha spoke as he continued to watch the fire. He really didn’t know what to say either. Micha stretched his legs out before him as he crossed his legs at the ankle. He was relaxed and content as he sipped on his coffee. "

“Relationships are ropes. Love is a noose."

Nodding as the other thanked him, he sat back enjoying his coffee, watching as Micha loaded his coffee with cream and sugar. It amused him because the photographer didn't really strike him one to take his coffee so sweet. He would have thought of him more like himself and just take it black. At least for this type of coffee. It was his favorite, something Oliver brought him back from one of his trips. Looking back into the dancing flames, he listened to the male soon speak after asking about his situation, nodding. "So what will you do in the mean time?" he asked. Samuel wondered if the male went on hiatus what that would mean to whatever it was they had. He was so used to just seeing the other come into his club after getting off of work late at night. It would feel weird to him if the other just suddenly stopped coming. But he didn't say that nor did he allow it to show on his face. As usual he was a blank poker face and allowed very little emotion to show. He didn't know where this was going and he didn't want to jump too far ahead. As much as he hated it, he was going to have to be patient if he wanted to find these things out. Otherwise they would just end up repeating last nights' fiasco.

Micha could last a few months without working but not for long. He had money saved in his account but he needed a plan. Micha sipped on his coffee as he sat there. He knew he was screwing his life at the moment by not finding an assistant but he just needed a break. Micha knew if he didn’t take a break than he was likely to get burnt out soon. He shrugged as Samuel spoke, ”I don’t know yet…I might just take a break for a while…Perhaps I’ll work on something else like landscape photography for a while.” Micha spoke as he finished with his coffee. He set the cup on the ground next to him. Micha sat back on the couch as he glanced up at the sky. He couldn’t see that many stars especially with so many lights in the city. "
