The symbols show which subgroup that you belong to within this group. I.e. say that you have a box of marbles. Some are blue, red, green, etc. A group of people take a certain color marble to show what smaller groups that they're in. Blue=healers, red=warriors, green=calvry. Of course, the colors that I just mentioned have nothing to do with the colors on the symbols. They were just an example.
