"Henry, your TK picking anything up?" Andreas asked as they came to Santa's theoretical resting place, where Andreas fully expected not to find the body.

Henry's TK wasn't picking up anything that they didn't already know. They came to a shallow slope that extended outwards from the chasm. There was snow on the bottom of the slope. Upon closer inspection, a roughly Santa-sized impact point in the snow was found. No body.
Leading away from the impact site and up the slope were trails that Santa probably left that looked like he was either dragged, either by someone else or himself, up the slope.

"Well, that was unsurprising," Andreas commented, following the trail.

There were sounds of snow shifted and branches swaying nearby, a few loose rocks crumbling from the walls, but they otherwise appeared to be alone.

Henry's TK, however, told him that something was fishy.

Gregory followed Andreas up the slope, eventually entering the forest and coming to a small log cabin in the middle of a small clearing. It appeared to be dark inside the cabin and it had no notable features other than the trail leading up to the front door and the brown goo (presumably Santa's blood) on the doorknob.

Gregory, covering his hand with his Jacket, pushed ahead of the others and carefully opened the door. Little could be seen, but the inside of the cabin smelled terrible. Gregory began to fumble around for a light source of some kind.

The others left momentarily outside began to glimpsing shadows out of the corners of their eyes. Something was behind them. No, to their side. No, above them, in the trees. In any case, it was now apparent that there was something stalking them.

Henry wracked his brain (or more precisely, his TK), and the number three came to mind. He also found himself inching towards the cabin.

Andreas was probably too focused on making snowballs float or something, and Orion hasn't done much recently, so he happened to be following Henry to the cabin.

"I think...there's three of them," Henry murmured to the others. "Yetis, most likely. They're fast and strong, and we'd need to gang up to beat even one of 'em. Let's get inside."

Assuming his TK said it was safe inside.

"Maybe we'll find weapons," Andreas commented, daring to sound almost hopeful.

Gregory finally stumbled upon what felt like a lamp. He fumbled a little bit more and found a pull-string to turn it on. Upon doing so, the room, along with the source of the massive stench, was illuminated. Another door (presumably the back door) was also heard slamming shut. The walls and floor, even parts of the ceiling, were coated with blood. Most of it seemed fresh and red, but some was darker or even brown. Most brown blood was found on the ground, Santa was probably bleeding. The brown blood trail, however, was lost in the mess but the back door's doorknob was covered in blood as well.

Strewn across the floor and flung among the various, simple furniture that had been wrecked and disordered, were the bodies of several dozen Elves and a slightly smaller number of nutcrackers. Some Elves were dressed in military attire, but others, notably those that appeared sickly, were in normal attire.

Among the mess there was a long, thick spear that appeared to have been made out of a large animal's femur and sharpened stone. It a little taller than Andreas, heavy, and awkward to wield, but it was a weapon. Also found, that was usable, were two Nutcracker halberds. Again, not much, but something.

"... Take what I can get," Andreas muttered, pulling the spear to him telekinetically and testing its weight.

The spear was rather heavy, but Andreas was able to drag it to himself. He grabbed it and could support it's weight, albeit awkwardly without help from his telekinesis. Gregory and Henry picked up the halberds. Much to their dismay, they were both covered in gore. Gregory tentatively wiped against a wall in an attempt to get most of the gore off.

With their weapons in hand the three went back to back in the center of the room, preparing for whatever was outside.

"Maybe we should just go out the back door." Gregory suggested, rather unwilling to face what might be a yeti.

Before anyone could agree or disagree, a figure breezed by the window. It was rather large. Probably a yeti. It could be heard outside the back of the cabin, it seemed to be inspecting something loudly. The three inside froze, hoping not to be noticed as three more figures brushed by the windows. Some low growling and grunts could be heard outside. And then heavy footsteps leading away from the cabin.

Henry's TK calmed down and he brought up leaving the cabin in a few minutes.

All agreed and after about two minutes, when the yetis outside were likely far enough away to proceed. Upon opening the door the three were greeted by a chill breeze and crisp, stench-free air.

Henry scanned the surrounding area. Went back into the cabin, opened the back door, and scanned the back area as well. He went to each window and checked the sides, and finally double-checked the front.

After assuring himself and the others that it was clear, they stepped outside in a close-knit group. Only a few feet from the front door Henry's TK spiked and he turned on his heels just in time to witness one large figure leaping from the roof of the cabin followed by two smaller (though still large) figures. A yeti, standing a good foot taller than the other yetis that Henry had seen, landed in front of them. It had a few identifying features that set it apart from other yetis, a deep scar over its right eye and a pauldron on its right shoulder fashioned from the skull of a large, feline-like creature with canine teeth that were a good twelve-inches long. It carried no weapons.

The two other yetis landed behind the group on either side. They were about only slightly larger than the yetis Henry had previously seen. They were both wielding spears similar to the one Andreas found, but theirs had colorful feathers tied just under the spearhead. They each wore necklaces composed of several different, large teeth.

Henry's TK let him know there was no immediate danger, but that didn't mean that there wasn't any danger at all.

The large one started grunting and growling at the three. Despite the frightful feeling of being surrounded by yetis, they couldn't help but be reminded of Wookies when the yetis spoke.

Andreas looked up at the intimidating figure. "Would've been nice if the other ones we'd fought didn't immediately attack us," he commented wryly, using his sarcasm to conceal his fear.

"We haven't fought these ones before," Henry said. He held out a to stop Andreas from advancing or appearing hostile. His TK was lower than he would have expected, which meant...

He took a tentative step forward, holding his hands up slightly to show he was harmless and bowed his head a little, keeping his eyes on the big creature. "Um...hello," he said, speaking slowly. "We uhh...mean no harm."

The large yeti smirked and turned his attention to the other two yetis. They exchanged a few grunts before they glanced back at the three. After doing so, they burst into a brief, rumbling laughter. They exchanged a few more grunts before the large yeti gestured at the bushes.

A small yeti, about half the size of a normal yeti, emerged from the bushes carrying a walking stick. The large yeti exchanged a few grunts with this new yeti who looked at the three and began to laugh in a shrill manner. A few more grunts were exchanged along with a few hand gestures towards Henry, Andreas, and Gregory.

"They're mocking you." the short yeti told them. His voice was raspy and he spoke each word carefully, "They say that there's a difference between meaning no harm and being unable to cause harm." he laughed once more.

Henry refrained from pointing out that they could probably kill the big yeti with only their brains - that would probably be detrimental.

"I see," he drawled. "Well, cool. Does that mean we can go on our way?"
PostPosted: Mon Nov 29, 2010 9:34 am
The yetis laughed at Henry's thoughts and killed his brain "That depends." the small yeti said, "Why are you here?"

"We're looking for someone, you dig?" Henry said, waving his hands. "An abomination, know what I mean? Santa's animated corpse, walkin' around like it shouldn't be. Have you seen 'im?"
