History: The daughter of a conservative warlord, Naaja was raised to be the perfect conservative freeborn wife and mother and betrothed to a lion who would become a reaver and then a captain, and maybe even warlord one day. The two of them got off to a rocky start, but eventually things settled down and worked out as they came to realize that they weren't badly suited for one another after all. Then her father was challenged and lost his position and the new warlord decided it would be a good sign of solidarity within the pride to arrange a marriage between her and the vikingborn grandson of the warlord her father defeated and exiled. Their relationship began on bad terms and has not improved.

History: Born to two lions who left the Ukuchaa'Wafalme, Lyti was raised to be proper and polite and to always do the correct thing. She grew up surrounded by very protective males and two close female friends, one Njal's daughter and the other Bren's half-sister, but she never really got to know Bren until he proposed to her, basically out of the blue.
