Devin Cloud First Year- Hufflepuff "We need not look into the future, because today is what we should be worrying about" Age:11 Height: 4'10" Weight: 100 lbs Birthday: 30 April
Devin flew around, a smile upon his face, attempting to git the bludgers flying around the Pitch. He had already successfully hit two away from his friends, and he wanted to hit another one. Devin looked around, and finally noticed a bludger approaching Jane this time. He decided that he should indeed go hit the bludger away, for it would just be the nice thing to do.
He zoomed towards Jane, bat in hand, attempting to hit the bludger. He zoomed forwards at high speeds, hoping he could make it. His heart raced as the bludger approached the girl violently, but he was going faster, and with one swing, he knocked the bludger away, preventing a very horrible accident. He looked down at Jane, who had not seemed to notice him.

Charlotte's worry relaxed a little as Bailey took the goalposts again. It wasn't that she thought Nevin could do better, just that Bailey officially played Seeker, not Keeper. Even so, she was desperate to get the open position, and Bailey was very good. Charlotte swallowed and lined up to take a shot.
The wheels began to turn in her head as she tried to calculate the best way to take a shot. She's seen Devin's successful corkscrew in her peripherals whilst acting as Beater, but she didn't quite think she'd be able to reenact a move as difficult as that while still accurately aiming her shot. It was true she'd done something like that earlier, but that was largely luck at play and she didn't want to take chances. Instead, she decided on a more basic approach, a left approach and a shot on the right goalpost. It was an unoriginal and bland tactic, but with Charlotte's arm, the shot had a fair chance of scoring. If not, Charlotte would switch to more intense and aerobatic moves.
Breathing a reluctant sigh, she ducked low to her broom to achieve maximum aerodynamic capability, and began to speed toward the goalposts. Halfway there, she turned left slightly, keeping her head turned towards the left goalpost while using her peripherals to examine the right post. If all went as planned, Bailey would hesitate and try to block left before seeing through Charlotte's trick, which she undoubtedly would. She was too good to go for it entirely. About a room's length away from the posts, she took her shot, throwing as hard as she could but keeping good timing. The shot headed straight for the post, and Charlotte crossed her fingers.

As the ball flew into the goalpost, Charlotte smiled brightly. She'd done it once, and now she had to do it again. Bailey was right about being able to catch the quaffle as she caught the snitch regularly. Still, Charlotte remained confident. Two more shots, and she might be a new chaser. Though she knew the chances were slim, she felt that somehow fate would work in her favor. And this began to fuel her desire to win. Catching the quaffle, she realigned and contemplated once more. She knew what she was going to do. It would be another submarine shot, similar to the one she'd done against Devin but with a slighter drop and an attempt at the left post instead of the center. Nodding to herself, she got low again and sped up.
Only six yards from the goals, Charlotte made her move. She threw her weight forward, mentally telling the broom to dive. It did, and almost as soon as she felt the decline in elevation, she pulled up hard on the handle and threw left with her right hand, again taking a shot with her less dominant hand. It was risky, but the submarine was impressive even without scoring. Devin had said so himself. Maybe she could actually pull this one off.
The quaffle flew towards the posts, and it was now up to Bailey.

As her second shot went in, Charlotte began to smile again, but quickly stopped herself. Although she was happy, she didn't want Bailey to think bad of her. "Hey, believe me, this is quite hard on me. You're really good." She then let the smile appear, for Bailey was her idol and here she was shooting against her. In that moment, Charlotte prayed she would make the team. Hanging out with Bailey and Devin had been the best memory in her whole two years so far. Well, the best way to do that is to make this next shot, or at least show some good skill, Charlotte told herself. For the third time, she lined up with the posts. She honestly didn't have a shot planned. She once again considered a corkscrew, but came to the same conclusion she had earlier. That was risky and she didn't have the right size.
Just then, a thought occurred to her. Though the corkscrew was too tough, she'd proven earlier that she could dismount and shoot. It was very risky to attempt the trick again, but if accomplished, she would impress Bailey and most likely get her spot.
She began to accelerate just as she had before, but this time she went up instead of down. She let go of the quaffle a few yards above Bailey, and quickly leapt off the broom. She was now falling, but she managed to whack the quaffle just as she had earlier. As fast as she could, she re-mounted the broom in midair and took control of the broom once more. Relieved, she circled back up to the posts to see if the quaffle had gone in.
