"Alright, fine." Bugsy spoke. "Then lets get to it. Over here." Bugsy said, walking off.
After a bit of following, we'd find the battlefield out in a large clearing in the gym. The battlefield was grassy, compared to the hard floor that Aden probably was accustomed to back at the Violet City Gym. The battlefield lines were all chalked in. For the most part, this was in order to keep the whole natural look to the gym.

Aden was quiet as he followed, though he didn't find the floor all that odd yet. Seeing this gym, he figured there were going to be differences through all of them. He could only imagine what the one at Goldenrod would be like...
It didn't take long for him to assume a side at once, to save any hassle there.

Ryan looks over the re-designed field. "Much more impressive then when I was last here. this place was like any other Gym." Ryan comments to Blizz.

Bugsy made his way over towards his side of the field. A ref conveniently makes his way out of hiding and takes his position along side of the field. Always one on duty during Gym business hours, it seems. "Hey Ryan, over here..." I said, making my way off to the opposite side of the field and sitting down on a bench close by. The ref pulls out something and points it towards Aden, Identifying him real quick then pulls his ref flags.
"This will be a 3 on 3, Single Battle, between the Gym Leader, Bugsy of the Azalea Gym, versus the Challenger, Aden of Agate Village in the Orre Region! The Challenger for this battle will be permitted to switch his Pokemon as he sees fit. The gym leader will not. Victory will be decided by forfeit or when all allotted Pokemon from one trainer is no longer able to battle!"
"I hope you're ready, Aden! I'm not going to be lenient to you like Falkner did! You ARE going to have to earn your badge here if you plan on going anywhere!" Bugsy shouted. "If you thought Falkner's fowls were bad? Wait until you see what I can do with bugs!"
"Someone just ice this insect and call it a day already..." I said, crossing my arms, not really expecting Bugsy or Aden to hear...Ryan on the other hand, well. Bugsy was already starting to show old habits to me...it was grating.
"BEGIN!" The Ref shouted.
"Let's start off with this! Go! Ariados!" He shouted. He tosses the Pokeball out and it lands upon the field, revealing the massive red spider there for battle.
"Ariados...hmm..." I looked over towards Aden.

Ryan wanders over to where Blizz had called him over to. He sits down, setting his pack at his feet. Ruth takes the opportunity to flutter down next to his owner. Ryan then sees Ariados. "Ariados? seems like Busy even has new tricks in the pokemon he has." he says to Blizz.

Aden couldn't really make out what Blizzard had just come out with. He did, however, hear everything else. Standard fare for gyms, until Bugsy furthered the point that Falkner's actions might've been seen as a mistake. Nevermind that not a single one would be taking this lightly, evidenced by the huge, red spider standing before him.
Seeing that horn on it, he had a feeling it might be poisonous too. Maybe he could work that to his advantage, but not yet. "Nah, his birds were fine. But maybe I should let Falkner know that lunch's already here for them." He quipped. "Mareep, let's start this!"
The spider would find itself meeting a sheep, to which Mareep was less than thrilled. She could've done without this, really.

Bugsy cracked a grin already when the sheep was released. "Ariados! Spider Web!" He shouted.
He was going to be quick about this one. Immediately, Ariados unleashed a thick blanket of sticky thread upon the Mareep.

Ryan shook his head. Bugsy was going for the kill from the word go. Aden was in big trouble already. "he sure didn't waste any time." Ryan says to Blizz.

Aden was able to mask it this time, but his thoughts could be summed up in one word: Why?
He tried to recall Mareep as soon as he could, but the web ensnared her and prevented any sort of escape tactic. "So much for that plan... Mareep, we'll just have to deal with it. But two can have a little fun with this. Thunder Wave!"
While the web might keep escape options out, it didn't write off other ones. Firing off a weak jolt, Mareep tried to get the usual secondary plan started. When in doubt, cripple.

"That isn't the least he has been known to pull with Ariados." I told Ryan. "Trust me, what YOU know about him and what I know are two different things. Kind of pays being part of the gym circuit, you know?" I said.
The electrical jolt hits its mark and the Ariados started to cringe. "Figures. Well, two can play at this little status game. Ariados! Toxic!" He shouted. From where the Ariados stood, he unleashed a spray of toxic venom upon the Mareep. If that Ariados was going to go down, he'd make sure that Mareep was going down first...hopefully.

Ryan chuckles. "Yeah, but we both know I'm not cut out for that scene." Ryan says. He then watches as Bugsy and Aden trade status conditions. Bugsy appeared to have the better of it.

"Mareep, try to get out of the way!" Aden called quickly, only to learn this was a futile effort. On top of the escape prevention, the web was messing with Mareep's movements. She couldn't go as swiftly as she'd like, and found herself subject to the spray.
It began to be absorbed somewhat quickly, making the matters all the worse. It wasn't too bad now, but it was all downhill from here for her.
"No... not going to let this get me... Mareep, endure what you can and start striking. Thundershock!" He called, having the sheep send a jolt at Ariados. If she was destined to fall, Aden would make sure Ariados went with her.

"Alright, enough of this! Ariados! Get on that sheep! Constrict!" he shouted. The Ariados fought through the Paralysis and made its way for the Mareep. Webs started to form as it made the rush for it. It was going to try to crush the sheep in the webs it was forming, by the way it looked.

Ryan watched the battle unfold. Bugsy may have just made a mistake going with that constrict. time to see what Aden can do with it.

More webs? This wasn't good... but then again, crazier ideas have worked. Maybe this would have some merit, with the one that was forming now. "Mareep, cancel our subscription to Crushed Sheep and Toxins. Let out the rest of your electricity, go for the webs!"
This time, Mareep let out the remainder she had built up, all around her. It didn't go for Ariados much compared to the last attack, but with those webs forming, they made much more viable targets.
