I caught an awful cold. Couldn't go to the family's Chinese New Year dinner and I was in bed from Friday to Monday (took 2 sick days off work). Boyfriend was nice enough to make me chicken noodle soup. I still have an annoying runny nose and dry cough.

Sid the Bear I caught an awful cold. Couldn't go to the family's Chinese New Year dinner and I was in bed from Friday to Monday (took 2 sick days off work). Boyfriend was nice enough to make me chicken noodle soup. I still have an annoying runny nose and dry cough.

Got any suggestions for getting rid of the sniffles? I tried cold medication (extra strength) and nasal spray but neither works. I can't just keep blowing my nose every few minutes...my nose is all red and swollen and starting to hurt...

Got any suggestions for getting rid of the sniffles? I tried cold medication (extra strength) and nasal spray but neither works. I can't just keep blowing my nose every few minutes...my nose is all red and swollen and starting to hurt...
I have never tried Nasal Spray ( Salt/ Sodium Mist ) yet but I don't take Cold Medicine when I just have the "sniffles". Instead, I take Allergies &/or Sinus Medicine. Puff Facial Tissue or Facial Tissue with Aloe might help.

I am taking the max dosage for extra strength cold, cough, & flu medication but seems like getting some rest/relaxation is the best in lessening the symptoms.

Nasal spray seem to be sort of working (I'm using the medicated one)...guess I didn't do it right/let it work the first couple of times I tried it. Getting lots of rest on the weekend helped too even though I still have a bit of a runny nose. At least now I'm not congested.
