The Ariados continued to get electrocuted, and damage was surely being done, but it fought on through. It was going to take more than a few small electric discharges to stop this bug. It made its way to the Mareep and started to put the squeeze upon the sheep.
"Yea! Go Ariados! Keep it up!" Bugsy shouted.

"Come on, I know there's a little more than that. And the poison's gotta be bothering you... Mareep, build up and let it out again. Discharge!" A few small ones? Perhaps that much was certain. Struggling between the squeezing and poison, she was quickly becoming inclined to toss this infernal bug off.
The bleeting to follow just might've been the first time Mareep was a bit upset. She didn't deserve this, and Ariados was going to know it before the poison finished its job. The air crackling a little, she finally let off the harsh attack at bug and web alike.

Another harsh discharge ran right through the Ariados, though now, it was starting to feel it for certain. While it held its grip, he didn't get any tighter. Paralysis had taken its toll. He couldn't move for the moment. He was locked into its tightened position upon the Mareep, rather helpless right at the moment.
"Ariados! Come on! Fight through it!" Called out Bugsy...but it was in vein. As much as he wanted to, he couldn't.

Ryan raises an eyebrow. this was just what Aden needed. But how long before the poison overcame Mareep?

"Alright, now throw it off! Tackle!" As he saw it, there weren't many options. Aden wasn't sure if that'd work either. Mareep was still quite stuck, making movement nearly impossible to accomplish.
But she wanted that bug off, and it wasn't complying. It was bad enough feeling sicker by the second and trapped in webbing. What came next was a gradual, but eventual budge until she tried to roll herself on top of Ariados instead. Her strength was quickly waning, however, making the feat difficult. She couldn't take much more, in any case.

The Ariados was jerked off of the Mareep and rolled over. The Ariados made its way back on to his feet and faced the sheep. "Alright then! Try to use Pin Missile!" Bugsy commanded.
Managing to fight through the Paralysis once again, it fired off a volley of needles towards the sheep.

There wasn't much Aden could do. Mareep still couldn't be recalled, and with her strength becoming too difficult to find, the volley hit their mark and brought her down. There was no way she could've taken anything after that effort.
"It's alright, Mareep. You've done what you could... here, return." Finally able to recall her, he was quick to do so, thinking of what to use next here.

I sighed a bit, looking over towards Bugsy. That was what made the Bug type so notorious. While they did not have the strength like most Pokemon types, they more than make up for it in versatility. Using various crippling moves to take their prey down. Always a 'David vs Goliath' story with those Pokemon, and Bugsy was showing why they're David.
"Good going, Ariados! Just hang in there for a bit longer if you can! Let's see if we can't do something to his next Pokemon."
I looked down towards Ariados. To be sure, Mareep has done a bit of damage to that bug. Let's see how Aden follows up.

Aden's case, unfortunately, was that he had a lot to fit the opposite role. Versatility wasn't as much of a strong suit as he hoped for; take away the little strength he had to throw around, and it wouldn't take long to bring him down.
To make it worse, he was at a loss. He didn't want to use Geodude or Poliwhirl yet. If anything, those were his potential aces in the hole. Them or Raticate. Nidoran would just get crushed like Mareep did. To him, his choices were limited.
"Damage this. Raticate, take over! Quick Attack!" And in this case, he'd just have to use what he had going for him as long as possible.

There would have been no way for the spider to dodge such a speedy attack from such a hard hitting Pokemon. For that matter, Aden would soon realize that the Ariados took more from that Mareep than he'd probably realize. When the Ariados got smashed into, it tumbled back a few times, but when it tried to get back on its feet, it flopped back upon the ground. "Ariados!" Bugsy shouted. "Thats one down..." I said, mainly to myself. He recalled the fallen bug. "Good work, Ariados...take a breather." He said. He pulled out a second Pokeball, looking at the Raticate. He had thoughts in mind on what to pull, but he didn't exactly know which. He felt he couldn't go wrong either way with his next choice...unless Aden had fire types on him. He wasn't so sure, actually...a Mareep first, followed by a Raticate? "Go! Forretress!" He shouted. "A what now?" I said. Wait, what? Did I hear that right? Forretress? Bugsy going on the defensive a bit? What is his deal? The ball landed on the field and out popped a large massive metallic bug. "Forretreessss." The Pokemon spoke, staring down the Raticate.

Bugsy wouldn't know, but he could rest assured on that one. No fires were going to start from the Pokemon Aden had. But what came out next was not something he looked forward to. A bug, sure, he expected that. But one that made Blizzard's Scizor look like it might as well have paper mache for cover?
He wasn't so sure now. If it was as sturdy as it looked, making a dent wasn't going to come easily. It also wrote off any thoughts of using Nidoran this time. But if nothing else, he did learn from that time in Violet City. "Okay, so you've gone from a spider to a giant metal ball. Let's see how this goes... Raticate, Super Fang!"
Raticate had no qualms in rushing over, trying to bite down on the Forretress... only, this had to be the most foolish thing he's done; the effort did little more than hurt the attacker, making him reel back. "Maybe not that, then..."

"Maybe not that, then..." Despite knowing that Raticate have been known to topple skyscrapers by gradually chewing away at the steel girders that supported it, I couldn't help but to cover my beak and wince. For that matter, it may be the best move to open up with in Aden's case. Raticate on their own don't have too much to damage a steel type, but opening up with Super Fang? Beautiful... The Forretress yelped hard as the fangs came down upon it...which frustrated Bugsy a little. He wasn't expecting Aden to go for something like that. I saw the look of disdain upon his face. "......?" "Forretress! Spikes!" Bugsy shouted. The Forretress spun rapidly, unleashing a flurry of spikes that scattered everywhere upon the grassy field. Tread lightly...

Raticate stood still as the spikes were scattered on the field. He was untouched by them mostly, but seeing them strewn like they were was only going to make things worse. Caution was going to be a must at this point.
"Gonna need to be careful, Raticate... let's see if there's something we can do about the round bug wall. Make it less of one- I've got it. Tail Whip!" Aden called. While Raticate complied, there was one issue. Him and cute didn't mix that well, and against something like Forretress, lowering any guard seemed impossible.
