"He had it for a while as far as I am concerned. Though, admittingly, this is typical of him as of late. He either goes one way or another with his second Pokemon. Either he'll pull that Forretress out, or he'd go for a bruiser that's almost as tough as his typical final Pokemon." I said. "But what has me curious is why he went with Foretress instead of the other one." I said to Ryan.
The gesture towards the Foretress did get the bug off its game a bit. What. The. Heck. Is this Raticate doing? "Forretress! Ignore it already! Use Gyro Ball!" He shouted.
The Forretress then started to spin and make its way towards the Raticate.

"What? He wanted to play? Oh well. Raticate, Endure!" Aden had an idea, alright. Complete with Raticate holding his ground for the coming attack. Trying to go against it wouldn't end well to him.

"Huh. Probably just toying with Aden at this point. Bugsy is being abit too confident right now." Ryan says to Blizz.

The Forretress rammed right into the Raticate, causing whatever damage he could cause. "Alright Forretress! Keep it up!" Bugsy shouted. "Use Swift!" He shouted.
The Foretress rushed back a bit then unleashed a star flurry upon the Raticate.
"Probably rightfully so at the moment unless Aden can pull something..." I told Ryan.

Raticate found himself taking a couple more hits than expected, but he was able to take them all the same.
To Aden, that additional bit of damage was going to prove useful. Perhaps, for once, he was actually thinking smart. "You might've gotten Mareep that easily, but you're not repeating that one! Raticate, now! Endeavor!" He called.
Pushing through the attacks and spikes Forretress had given, Raticate tried to find a weak spot, somewhere where it'd really start hurting. Finding a suitable place and noting to find a dentist, he bit down at once. Hard. Harder than even what Super Fang had done. He was putting everything he had left into it.

There hasn't been any around that he could get a hold of. Well, besides his Arcanine...which isn't truly his. He decided to go on through the gym fights without the crutch of having already trained Pokemon from his father." I then turned back just in time to see what Aden called out and I couldn't help but to go wide-eyed. "Holy Hell, Aden thought that up on his own?" I asked Ryan. "Suddenly I see hope for certain. I can tell you, Ryan, he wasn't pulling such an extreme tactic with Falkner." "FORRETREESS!" The bug shouted out. That one. REALLY hurt. It was still able to go, but to say the least, he wasn't going to last much longer at all. ".........." Bugsy was not amused. This hadn't gone to plan. And if that Raticate somehow manages to make it to his 3rd Pokemon, he could just as easily do the same thing to it with Endeavor. Something that by no means Bugsy was going to allow. "Forretress! Explosion!" "What!?" I looked over towards Bugsy. Had Aden really pushed Bugsy that far? "Forr-eeee-TRESSSS!" From one massive glow followed by a massive explosion to follow, I couldn't help but to turn away and shield myself all I could with my wing as the dust and debris got kicked up from the blast.

"Wha!? Raticate, return now!" Aden wasn't about to subject Raticate to much more anyway, but seeing Forretress glowing after the command Bugsy gave didn't set well with him. He didn't want anything of his having to go through that, quickly ducking for cover just before the explosion occurred.
Maybe he was doing better. But to drive someone to literally explode? What had he just stirred up?

Ryan takes all that has happened in. "Well, seems Bugsy got desperate. didn't want Aden to have the advantage. now it is one on one...and I hope Aden plays this right. Cause This last one for Bugsy is his killer." Ryan says.

I crossed my arms and looked back over towards Aden and Bugsy. Bugsy recalled his fallen Forretress off the field. "Thank you, Forretress. You done great." He said, stashing the Pokeball. "Well, I can see what Falkner saw in you. But using that to warrant a badge? Well...try to impress me more." He said, taking out his final Pokemon.
"Here we go..." I said.
"Scyther! Go!" He shouted, tossing out the Pokeball.
The ball bursts open and there on the field stood the massive green bug, with its large scythe arms, sharp as sharp can be. Gracing its scythe arms across each other it spoke. "Scyyyytherrr..." This thing was ready to kill.
"So Bugsy's lightning bruiser is out now. This is going to get real messy in a hurry..." I said. I knew that Aden still had Nidoran, Poliwhirl, and then the fairly untrained Geodude ready to tackle this thing. But Im trying to figure what would Aden pull...I guess Im about to find out.

"Try to... okay, you know what?" Aden stepped back, taking out the Pokeballs containing the rest of his team. Two of those were tossed to the side. The two that might've given him a chance of success.
But if Bugsy wanted to be impressed, it wasn't going to be Geodude or Poliwhirl that'd do it. Instead, he went for the more unlikely choice. "Fine, challenge accepted. Nidoran, we're finishing this!"
Cue any potential facepalms... now.

Resisting urge...to facepalm... Granted, there was one thing going for Nidoran, I had to admit. Nidoran DID have Shockwave...which would play to one of Scyther's weaknesses. That said. I wondered about the experience difference between the two, let alone the experience difference between the trainers. The Pokemon stared off until... "Scyther! Focus energy!" He shouted. The Scyther started to get psyched up. Tensing up. Oh boy... "Fights on..." I said.

Ryan tilted his head slightly when he saw Nidoran. along with a minor jaw drop. "That it is. I sure hope the kid knows what he's doing." Ryan says to Blizz.

Nidoran had winced from the earlier release, the spikes digging into him initially. But he was past that now.
"Sorry about that... here, let's make that thing tread lightly too. Toxic Spikes!" Aden called. He doubted he could afford having Nidoran resort to the usual Focus Energy, so he opted to go with some means of trapping.
This culminated into some of the spikes being left for Aden's party getting sent back, each one hit with Nidoran's horn to lace them with poison.
