Its not you know...the whole gym pride or whatever, like sending a Electric type in Falkner's gym. You know that would ruffle some feathers. No. This is a whole other sort...Bugsy gotten to the point where he has something to prove. While he is the youngest of the gym leaders, and rather skilled in his own right, compared to the rest of the gym leaders, he pales in experience. And as the years went on, and it started to show that even APPRENTICES are starting to one-up him hard, like yours truly, and others like Kristy out of Ecruteak, and Jackie out of Violet, well..." I then looked over towards Aden. "What doesn't help matters is I wasn't exactly joking fully about Aden coming after Aden with fully loaded guns. Bugsy is basically looking for excuses to show that why apprentices are apprentices and leaders are leaders." I said. "If anything, he's trying to take his frustrations out on Aden for being MY student. I can see where Bugsy comes from this, mind. Some apprentices within gym leader circuits like Jackie needs to have a kick in the complacency. But when you are showing off to the extent that where you are the one that needs the reality check? Uh...no. What doesn't help Bugsy's attitude is he fact that Falkner let him go instead of making him do the gym fight over with him, which Falkner could have very well done. But Falkner was man enough to admit a mistake and hand over a badge anyhow."
The Shockwave attack hit its mark, which made the Scyther stagger back. The confusion wore off, but the poison was still around. The Scyther stumbled forward a bit, planting its scythes in the ground to keep itself up right. "Scyther?" Bugsy spoke up. With a look back at its trainer, the Scyther loses its balance on his arms and falls over forward.
"Its......over..." I said.
The ref, watching over the whole battle, waved its flag. "That's the end of the battle! The winner of this match goes to Nidoran and Aden!"

"Shame. But as they say, pride before the fall. As for Aden, he's a fourth of the way in now. bad news for him: that was the last of the easier gyms. Starting with Whitney, he is gonna fall into a whole new realm of tough." Ryan says as he reaches down for his pack and picks it up. he then shoulders it. Ruth soon lands on his right shoulder.

It was only seconds later that Nidoran had fallen as well, A victory might have been received, but not without its prices. As Aden saw it, he still had some ways to go to squeak by like that.
Suffice to say, he was speechless. He recalled Nidoran at once, before stepping closer to Scyther. "Look, I'm sorry for going so rough like that.... here." Something told him this was going to end poorly, but he wanted to help a little. Taking an Antidote out, he sprayed it on the fallen Pokemon. "I can at least do that much. You don't have to be so brash, yanno."

The Scyther wasn't in any condition to complain, and even if it wanted to, it wasn't. Bugsy looked down...pride wounded badly once again. It wasn't an apprentice he got defeated by, it was the student of one, which really didn't bode too well.
I stood up and walked over upon the battlefield. "Now you possibly know one of the other reasons why Falkner let Aden go, Bugsy." I said to him. "Falkner probably figured that you would take this battle personally, and look. Not only you've lost, you're just standing there wallowing in self-pity. Falkner probably knew, somehow, one way or another, Aden was going to beat you."
"And how do you figure?" Bugsy asked.
"Because he knows better." I said. "At any rate..." I then tilted my head towards Aden. Bugsy had his end to do.
"Oh. Yea." He made his way down the battlefield, digging in a shirt pocket to pull out an envelope. "Here, Aden. Prize money for defeating me and your second badge. The Hive Badge."

Seeing this, Aden couldn't help feeling a little bad. But not taking it would be even worse. A win was a win, though he had a feeling it wasn't going to be like this most times. If anything, he still dreaded the possibilities at Goldenrod. "Thanks... and Bugsy, I don't think you have that much to really be that worried about. You're a gym leader for a reason, right?" He asked.

"I suppose." Bugsy said. "Here...thanks Scyther, you did great today. Return and I'll go get you fixed up, alright?"
"Therrrrrr..." The bug replied. He was recalled soon after. "I better get to it then..." And with that, Bugsy made his way out. He was probably going to the Pokemon Center...which is where Aden is going to ultimately end up having to go with three of his Pokemon being worse for wear at the moment.
"Come on guys, lets head to the Pokemon Center before heading out back into the forest to head for Goldenrod." I said. We'll probably want to stock up a little too before making the trip."

"Agreed. Ilex can be a long trip. and even then, there is still a good distance to Goldenrod once we clear it." Ryan says.

"Yeah... I just hope Bugsy isn't taking this too hard. He acted like he was upset by the time Scyther was out and all." Aden said, already starting to walk. "I didn't get to him that badly, did I?"

"Let me worry about Bugsy." I said, crossing my arms. "You did what you needed to do, Aden. You done a good thing today. Probably more than you'll ever know." I told him. "Come on, the both of you, let's get going." I said, walking off, making my way out of the gym. "I don't know about you all, but I want a Coke."

Ryan chuckles. "That sounds good to me. think I'll have one as well." Ryan says as he walks along with Blizz and Aden.

"Um. If you say so." Aden shrugged, figuring it was best to keep to that. Right now, he was more likely to upset Bugsy further. Keeping quiet, he walked after Blizzard. "But yeah, that sounds like a good idea."

I walked off out of the gym and for the Pokemon Center. It wasn't too long before I found my way inside and started talking to the nurse. "....uh-huh...I see. Alright, Aden, turn in your Pokemon to get them better and go find you a soda, alright? Then afterwards, go sit by your Pokemon, alright?" I asked. "They might want to be assured they won the battle, if anything."

"Huh? Oh, right." Aden had already thought of seeing his Pokemon after their recovery. But he figured what Blizzard was about to do dealt with the earlier fight. Nodding, he handed over his Pokemon and went off to get a drink himself.
It wasn't long before he found Ryan, having ended up in the same place.
