DNA_Guru I've heard them described as "Pink Floyd if they were possessed by the devil." Most of them are from El Paso so there's alot of Spanish overtones. I believe they're a combination of At The Drive-In and Sparta members. 3nodding Nooo you're wrong, guy! At The Drive-In was a combination of The Mars Volta and Sparta members 3nodding You see, the guys felt constricted in At The Drive-In. They felt that everyone had an idea of what they should sound like and that they wouldn't really be able to step out of that. Plus I think there was a falling out with... someone. I can't remember. So Omar and Cedric who have been best friends since forever started their own lovely little thing, The Mars Volta, which is pretty much just those 2 guys and whoever the hell they want to help out. Like in De Loused they got Flea from the Chilli Peppers to do bass. But yeah, it doesn't matter who else is is the band. As long as it's Cedric and Omar it's the Mars Volta. Oh, and Cedric does... or did... look good, before he grew all that face hair.

I am also listening to alot of Bloodhound Gang, classic and new. I love those guys. They can have a totally disgusting rap going to extremely addictive back beats.

I think that Bond is just classical on drugs.

Bond is great. I mean it's like classical turned into dance music really. I personally think it's a good transformation, I'm glad someone decided to try it.

I did not really like it. I enjoyed it purely because it was an interesting twist on classics.

I like what Bond I've heard, which sadly isn't much. But it's pretty cool.
Why doesn't anyone else in this guild ever discuss music?

Because no one else cares as much about music as we do.
Just for fun, how large is your purchased CD collection.
I have 151 cds, in alphabetical order.

Can't say I can compete with that. I'm not sure what my Father and I would have combined, but I ahve about 80 or so CDs that aren't burnt. I could count them, but I really cannot be bothered.

I just like knowing where my CDs are.
Like my mum was asking if I had any music that she might enjoy, so I got in resorted everything just to find her some cds. It took me about 30 min to do.

Mine are in alphabetical and chronological order. Alphabetical by artist, and chronological by album.

Hehee. I only have 28 cds. But I really only started collecting them like 3 years ago. Before that I had like 5. They are put in order of me listening to them. Whatever gets listened to gets put on the end xd It's a good order. I like it.
........ :edit:
OMG Mars Volta are doing side shows ^_^ Melbz is on the 2nd of Feb. Looks like I'll have to extend my stay a little. No way I'm gonna bloody miss them. I've loved them for too long not to see them twice in a week. Kings of Leon are also doing one... but I think seeing them at the BDO will be enough.
