Ah, the act broke. Not like it was particularly hard to break Kagerou's acting. As Sev spit out harsh words, Kagerou simply stared at him aghast, desperately trying to find some crack to stop him... or hide... She wasn't quite sure which she wanted to do more. As soon as he finished, the rather horrified kunoichi tried to quickly correct her tactical error, weakly muttering, "S-Sev...," as she pulled on the baggy sleeves of the shinobi who was male not too long ago.
What she said, however, could hardly be heard, and besides, it was Inka's turn to speak. Kagerou fell silent once Inka started talking, eyes staring hard at the ground, looking like she had been utterly devastated by her failed plan. Beneath that expression of shock and horror, though, her brain worked diligently as always, and of course, she listened. She listened even though it only made the fresh wounds in her heart hurt even more.
Still facing the ground, Kagerou took a deep breath before straightening up.
Pulling on Sev's sleeve again, Kagerou once again called, "Sev...," this time a little louder than before. She'd pull at it and call him until she got her full attention, ears and eyes. Voice wavering with the genuine distress and shame Kagerou felt, she just let her thoughts go loose, "Sev, you were supposed to be nice to Inka! Not be mean! I was the mean one so you could be niiiice! Didn't you want to be nice? I thought you liked Inka-sama!" Oh, oops. Maybe she had said a little too much. Whatever the case, Kagerou punctuated with a forceful point at the Mizukage. "Go!" she demanded, her voice still upset and face still frowning, "Go apologize to the Mizukage-sama and try again! Or to Inka, it doesn't really matter who or what you think of him as. Tell him that you care and make it sound like you actually do! Try to understand why we're children to him. Defend him from being called a b***h! Tell him how much it means to you that he's worrying about us all, but let him know that you also can't help but worry for him, that maybe it's vastly different, but you also understand the fear behind a farewell that might be the last or what you might have to do with your own two hands one day and yet even then, you still chose to pursue this path of your own volition so that you wish he would not feel such a burden when giving at least you missions. Understand the delicacy of his position considering all of the talk behind his back he's had to endure, and ask him if there's any acceptable way for you to show your concern and support without undermining him. Then, if all of that somehow still fails, then go and become a chuunin so that, at the very least, he can't brush you off again with that last line."

Sev tensed up, ready to go on to another tirade after Inka's words... but Kagerou derailed her, and derailed her hard. Looking at her friend, eyes wide and mouth slightly agape, she listened to Kagerou yell at her, saying nothing. It reminded her of all the times the young female had to lecture her during her stay in the hospital, like the time she refused treatment because of her depression or the time she didn't want injections for the pain because she was already in so much pain. Halfway through her lecture, Severin's eyes became downcast and just stared at the ground, her mouth shutting with an audible snap. Kagerou's words had broken through whatever hormone-induced rage he had been in, and now he could actually think functionally. What an a** she had been; Kagerou shouldn't have to remind her that Inka was just a person, and a person who's been through a lot. She was caught up in her own selfish frustration that she hadn't even thought about all the times Inka had probably been talked about behind his back, all the looks he had gotten because of how much he cared. She understood now.
Hesitating, Severin finally looked up at the Mizukage, taking a moment to actually think about her words for the first time since the Sero had changed her in to a woman. "Kagerou's right... I'm... I'm sorry, Lord Mizukage. I was just frustrated and whatever's going on has stopped me from thinking straight, I-I-... But that's no excuse for my actions." Severin looked down again, closing her eyes tight and pinching the bridge of her nose. "I'll become better, I will." Her words were soft, layered with the disappointment towards herself that she felt. "None of the things I've done.... none of them had to have looked good on you... I'm so sorry, Inka. I understand now, I do; I'm sorry it took Kagerou having to yell at me like the idiot I am for it to finally get through." Swallowing hard and looking up at Inka, the now shorter female looked him in the eyes, her crystal eyes finally clear once again. "Some day I'll become someone you can lean on and trust. Someone who won't cause issues to your position, someone you can be proud of. I promise you that. I'll figure out some way to deal with how I feel in till then, in some way that won't so openly defy or threaten your place as Kage."

[･･･] Without a flinch or even an ounce of emotion touching the Mizukage's face, Inka stood there as the passive observer to the scene, amber eyes drifting with no urgency or even recognition of what was going on before him. Even the references to his past appeared to hold no impact upon the Godaime. But at the words suddenly being directed to him, he would appear to return to the present day and place his eyes upon Severin(a). He did nothing to stop the words, but nor did he seem surprised by them. Simply allowing them to flow from the Genin and over him. And finally - finally - somewhere in amongst those last words Inka reacted. The corners of his eyes pinched, and his lips were pressed thin.
"I see..." He spoke, but it sounded more directed to himself than to Severin(a). "I understand, now." Inka continues after a few seconds of silence. "I've said those words, too. And here I am. And Syy is gone. Hypocrit." He hushes himself, head bowed and gaze pained. "I have truly learned nothing from my mistakes...?" Time passes, leaving Inka silent before the two shinobi. "I cannot allow people of insufficient rank into unneccessary danger, yet I have caused a dangerous cycle... did I miscommunicate so drastically?"

Location ☷ Training FieldsxxxWith ☷ HimselfxxxThoughts ☷ Bought damn time ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Shen showed up to the training field, Orchid in her sheath that was resting on his shoulder as he found himself a more isolated spot. Much of the madness he had spotted in the office seemed to also be happening here, which was rather concerning. From what he could see the kage at the very least was here.....but then again they didn't seem to confident either. Until he was given orders to help or he saw things escalate however he didn't see a need to intervene. For now he'd get to the training his body yearned to do.
First off he'd begin with the style know as Hagane no Shunkan a basic form of using his weapon from what he could read. The very first move itself to he could turn into a drill, sliding his massive weapon out of its sheath and gingerly placing it on the ground next to him. The stab in was followed by a quick retrieval, which when repeated could be done with ease and fluidity over time. [Basic Stab ✔]
After this he could move on to the next drill which could be best described as quick stepping. Footwork in battle was an important thing. Much more so when, with practice, he could cover a short distance in hard to track speeds driving through as he did so. [Linear Step ✔]
Now with two of the three done the third would cover defense. Slowly he'd cover his blade in chakra, enforcing its already hardened steel with an unnatural force. Chakra to him was always strange to use but as long as it involved his blade he could reconcile with using it at the very least. [ Reinforcement ✔]

With his blade still coated he could work on the deflection technique. Just because one had great strength or defense did not mean they had to bear the brunt of attacks. In fact that would be foolish if always applied, as sometimes the best course of action was divergence and not confrontation. [ Deflection ✔]
Each step he took became a drill, much as he had been taught. Now he imagined and practice on what he could grinding forward. Using the blades edge to move forward but keeping contact with his imaginary opponent as he did so, forcing a gap to close between them. [ Forward Grind ✔]
As he grinded forward he'd prepare himself for a sudden oncoming attack. Pivoting on his one foot he'd flick his weapon around so the point was forward. In the next instance of which he'd stab it forward at the air with force and intent, a rush of air slicing past his blade. [ Pivot Block ✔]

Speed was the key for the next. Using his nodachi usually his strikes were forced into long, powerful blows that could send people off their feet. Now however he'd focus on just how his weapon moved and how he could chain it. One move would flow into the next with a trade off for power with speed, something that would be useful with a normally slow weapon. [ Calligraphy ✔]
As if he didn't already have enough reach there was a technique to extend it even further. To a full maybe 2 feet extra his weapon was maybe 8 feet tall, practically a spear. This might be useful for taking down goliaths one day he thought to himself. [ Extension ✔]
To stand ones ground in the most dire of times could also be seen as necessary. In his minds eye this technique was more of cheating. He was unlikely to use it in future fights but learned it par for the course, chakra in his feet sticking him in place. [ Solid Footing ✔]
Now was for more trickery. Like as before he coated his blade with chakra, a thing he was being forced more and more to use. There may be no escape to it ultimately but he'd bite his pride and do as he read. Whips of chakra flew from his nodachi as he did so, near effortlessly. [ Twin Blade ✔]
Thread walking was enjoyable. He practiced it, coasting across thin branches and boards with ease once he got the hang of it. Though it used chakra he felt it was more reasonable of a use. [ Thread Walking ✔]

By focusing his intent he managed to see how he could strengthen his attacks. Like blanking ones mind to all outside influence. His movements became instinctual, fluent, and powerful all at once. [ Advance of Steel ✔]
As with his speed he had garnered in the previous stage he'd now move on to what was a better improvement. Instead of losing his strength he could simply add more speed to it. Watching such a massive blade dance in front of his eyes was mesmerizing. [ Brush Stroke ✔]
He wasn't one for enjoyment of the next technique. It was easy enough to learn the trick, disarming someone wasn't to hard to him. It was the fact that he thought people deserved to die with their blade in their hand, so such a technique would see little use in Shen's hand. [ Disarming ✔]
Being forced into using chakra again he'd think of this as more of a display for show then real usage. Flashes of chakra were sent off his blade like fire. It was nice to look at, he'd hate to use the damn things however. [ Hydra Strike ✔]
Back to what he actually enjoyed it was stabbing time. Unlike the first iteration this one was MUCH faster and harder to pull off at the same time. It would be perfect for a fake out or even just to out pace someone, and he welcomed it into his kit. [ Illusory Double ✔]
The final move was one he'd likely never need to use, except to show off. It was similar to a quick draw technique, but the paper wrote it was more for switching weapons. He had no idea when he'd ever WANT to use a different weapon but learned it none the less as was instructed. [ Swordslinger ✔]

Shen completed his first style with his blade being sheathed and food/water being retrieved. If he had had to of rest in between to regather his chakra and stamina he had done so, but now he needed more of a physical break and to maybe do a bit of people watching as he drank from his water, his nodachi resting against his shoulder as he did so.

Another stabbing attack and a feint all in one. This new style would prove interesting as Shen swayed his body and dashed in different direction. Each direction of course was followed by a stab and rapid movement. [ Axle of Rain ✔]
Rolling rain was perhaps the first use of his element and he didn't even hate it that much. A shower of sparks was unleashed and used as a distraction. Well an opponent may be confused he could move swiftly from behind this attack. [ Rolling Rain ✔]
Another distraction technique this one he'd apply his other element. When he brought his nodachi down onto the ground a huge cloud of dust and dirt would form a sort of mist, allowing re-positioning or escape. These were neat tricks at the very least to keep in mind. [ Misting Rain ✔]

What he'd call a brash attack the next was one he was terrified to ever use. Dropping the tip of his blade downwards he'd lift his foot up and boot the end of it. This turned his nodachi into a nightmarish projectile, which he was quick to retrieve and brush off. [ Last Minute Rain ✔]
The next he enjoyed thoroughly as it trained his mind. What he sought was an indication of body movement, to spot the rthymic tell tale sign before it was even done so. When identified he could move preemptively before a blow was even struck. [May Wind, October Rain✔]

More blade work meant more fun for him. This one was tricky as it began in one hand and ended in another. It was quite nice to practice however, the second strike a boom of physical energy as he did so. [Summer Rain ✔]
Resting his nodachi's back side on his arm he'd focus his chakra along it. With a rapid twirl a shield of rock and earth would form if only for a moment. It was another technique that was likely to sit in the storage bin. [Splashing Rain ✔]
Next was chakra training, and oh how he loathed it. The more he practiced the more he wondered to himself, letting the chakra course through his body. Swordsmanship to him was above the use of chakra, or so his initial thoughts were. However Chakra itself was a PART of the body, and if the blade was to be seen as an extension of oneself wouldn't that to involve chakra? This thought kept with him as he completed his training. Speed was key and powerful for these few steps he was given. Chakra condensed in his feet he blurred around the area with his weapon. He wondered how well it would compact with other techniques, and just how terrifying that might become as well. [Innocent Rain ✔]

The next one he trained had no real explanation to it. Perhaps it was reading body language, or maybe just tapping into instincts. Regardless of what it was when he was finished with it he could sort of sense when there was hostile intent in the area. No doubt in his mind that this ability would prove immensely useful. He'd repeat his routine once he was done this style but with a bit more of a rest. There was a lot he had just learned and felt he really did need more of a break now.
Yes! Crisis averted! Kagerou heaved a sigh of relief and her smile returned as Severin returned kinder words.
Kagerou noticed, too, that she wasn't the only one who had a reaction to Severin speaking kindly. The glaze that had veiled Inka's eyes seemed to lift as Severin made progress until, Kagerou was sort of sure, the normal Inka was back... kind of... probably. She smiled at his recovery. That is, until she saw the face that he made upon waking. He looked so hurt... so emotionally vulnerable. Worried, even though he didn't want her to be, Kagerou remained out of concern for Inka's well-being.
She listened, puzzled, to Inka's self-directed words. What did he understand? What were the mistakes? The cycle? Miscommunication? Kagerou could sort of intuitively guess, but she couldn't say anything for certain... and it was hard to say anything when she felt so uncertain, but asking also seemed... not a good time now. "Inka-sama?" Kagerou tentatively poked with her words, her concern almost tangible as she recalled all the suspicions she had in the Sero of the traumas Inka had to face. Though, like Inka, she had to pause to think. When she spoke again, she spoke hesitantly, expecting him to just turn on her and bark at her to mind her own business any moment now. "Um... Inka-sama... Are you okay, now? Are you awake? Are you even the real Inka?..." Okay, that last one wasn't actually a question. Kagerou just got into the flow of things.

The crimson cherry glowed at the end of his smoke, deeply inhaling as he closed the case again and stretched his shoulder. Not to much was happening to fast, from what he could here it was more a matter of social drama rather then physical one. Matter of fact with his new training he could actually just tell when stuff was ready to get bad, so that was a relief. Shen was quick to finish his smoke though and carefully put the butt that was left over into a small bag he carried after extinguishing any heat that was left. Then he went back to work.
Taking his weapon he'd start with a practice to the quick draw. With his weapon being in a resting position it was easy to bounce it off and deliver two slashes quickly. Then he'd go into a neutral stance, he could do this as many times as needed. [ Pressing Lips ✔ ]
Just as he had brought his weapon to the ready a return could be done easily. By reversing his movements in fluid motion, though keeping the slashes deadly, he could return it to its resting position. Took no time at all when he thought of it like that. [ Retreating Kiss ✔ ]
Instead of going for a quick blow this time around it was a fake out. Like when you'd fake hitting a sibling his one arm would fake a twitch. Then instead his other would snap out in a quick crack at his imaginary opponent. [ Kiss on the Cheek ✔ ]

The next move would sure as hell be flashy. A full speed slash was unleashed by him in practice. Shortly after he'd be practicing in different mix ups, sometimes being a second slash, maybe a kick, and one time a half failed spin kick. [ Alluring Lick ✔ ]
Defensive moves were fun and this parry into a fist strike would be good. As he practiced it, easily spinning around imagined moves as he kept his blade ready, he thought of its uses. Disarming or ending fights without blood shed would be the first and foremost thought for him. [ Waiting Kiss ✔ ]
Chakra sucked to use. This one was childs play with his previous move was simply a flash of chakra to break someones guard. Afterwards he could do a rapid fire follow up. [ Tongue Kiss ✔ ]

Rapid fire slashes and a quick punch was on the menu next. It was nice to do rapid fire speed again, especially the punch to was fun. The entire styles physical aspect was a good addition and flavor to his combat. [ Trembling Lips ✔ ]
Good for an easy retreat this one required him to do a back flip. Which he was more then glad to try but hell if it didn't suck. It took much longer, and a lot dirtier of clothing, before he managed to land without pan caking. [ Accidental Kiss ✔ ]
A fake dodge to a sweep. He had already spent a good deal on the ground already so avoiding it was no worries. In fact it was the reason he did this one so easily. [ Hickey ✔ ]
This style sure as hell liked to do flips. His legs were already burning but he wasn't a quitter. Back to flipping, and smashing his weapon or foot into imaginary targets. [ Spinning Tongue ✔ ]

Starting from his knee position he'd be forced to roll again. It was a simple combat roll, into a slash. His shirt would have to get washed seven times after all was said and done. [ Sudden Kiss ✔ ]
Impalement. Easy to do with a massive sword, and even easier with a chakra helping. He'd practice this one on the ground and nearly lost his footing. It had one hell of a piercing power to it. [ Breath Taking Kiss ✔ ]

More back to rudimentary basics he'd work on some stances weak first. The point of stances was always to align ones body. With the right positioning he could increase his speed to dodging.

Shoving with a blade was a good time though with a nodachi it was a bit harder. His blade wasn't as wide as it should be but still good for a shove, if causing a bit of a cut. Creativity at its finest.

With his practice in feet positioning he could feel his movements more flowing. Steps worked into steps, without stutter. This made him much more nimble then he had been before.

Double strikes double fun. The massive blade cut through the air smoothly, and returned on another path. With his past training this was already to easy.

More fancy blade work with an S positioned strike. Being able to dodge and continue the attack would prove quite useful. In fact much of what he was learning here could be used in his preferred method of combat, much to his delight.

A big jump made his legs scream but he didn't care. With his massive weapon he brought it crashing down with great force. A good crushing blow for use.

Countering seemed so important to the art of sword play. It wasn't enough just to stop your opponent or to cut them down but to be able to do both with rapid transition. From a block to a rapid blow was more then enough for him to have a smile on his face.

Multiple attackers was always a bit of an issue. With his massive weapon at the very least he knew he could keep a circular field of protection. Swinging it around in wide arcs meant it'd be difficult for people to try to close the gap without risking losing a limb or two.

More towards dodging multiple attacks being able to walk through people was the easiest options. With multiple people came multiple attacks, which were aimed at only one person. This made it not very difficult to cause one attack to collide into another, if not cause friendly fire.

Chakra channeling was a pain but this one would be good for passive take downs. Turning his blade into more of a bat it'd cause major impact. A nice change of pace from dismemberment.

A swift strike downwards and a circular outblow. He'd imagine it in his mind, fighting off armies of people. After all of this training he came to realize however that it wasn't enough just to overpower people. If one used all of their strength and failed to end the fight they'd be at a loss.

Deflection was one thing, disarming was another. To combine both with a violent attack was much more interesting. In fact the closer he got to finishing the more he realized how little he really knew.

Rapidly he'd swish his blade in the face of incoming projectiles. People often thought the key to defeating close combat users was simply to keep at a distance, but it could only be held for so long. This move would help him close that distance without worrying about getting shot down.

Honestly, with Kagerou's slip earlier, it would be a relief if the person standing in front of them was actually not the real Inka. Perhaps this was some sort of trick by the Sero.

The veil had dropped again. Though, after some observation and assumption, it did not appear to be a bad thing. Kagerou theorized, She hoped that was just the case.
After all, there were some concerning matters. Such were the key words that caused Kagerou's head to tilt. This process of improvement Inka was undergoing sounded heavily artificial, forced. Without more details, Kagerou wasn't sure what to think of this procedure. To jump to conclusions would make her worry. To worry would simply begin the cycle of misunderstanding again.
Clearly, if she didn't understand, then she just had to ask, right? "Inka-sama, I wish you the best of luck in... whatever opportunity for improvement you've arranged for yourself. Though, I must express my concern in the lack of confidence you have in yourself... Ah, no. That wasn't what I meant to say..." Kagerou's tongue had run off on its own, which left the owner simply scratching at her cheek, feeling a bit awkward as she tried to... ease back to the question she had. It always seems like you're not giving yourself the credit you deserve or you're judging yourself too harshly..." Just like how Inka was judging his own emotions so harshly. Though, Kagerou couldn't bring up the evidence to say that directly to his face. Instead, her eyes just slid all the way over to the side with her unsaid thoughts.

Last... words? Already? Kagerou wasn't so sure. Sure, she had that question she wanted to ask, but it was hardly last word-worthy... or was it? Man, quoting Jack's last message to Inka now would have been a great time, but Kagerou had already used it.
Kagerou hesitated, her eyes moving to the other side and darting about in thought. However, once she was ready to speak, they stared... slightly down at Inka's raised eyes. He was looking all the way to the sky, taking in the bigger picture that was the Sera that encompassed the entire village.
The smile returned to Kagerou's face beneath her warm eyes. A wish for his success, despite her misgivings. A pleasant note to end on. At least, until the next time they had a chance to talk.
"Please take care of yourself, Inka-sama, and I hope we can talk like this again sometimes. I'm sure Sev, in particular, would like that..."
Kagerou bowed out of respect to Inka and to maybe ease, even slightly, any worries he might have had over how confident she was in his leadership. As she was, all she could do to help was support his decisions. She was in no position to argue or even warn him about how he chose to use himself, especially not if he had already begun.
With Kagerou's head bowed, it was hard to see the slight twitch in her smile as it faltered as she made a last minute addition. Her voice spoke hesitantly, heavy with worry. "Really, please... take care of yourself. However you may change your behaviors and emotions to become the leader you believe we deserve, please don't go so far as to lose yourself."
