Read the articles above. Not all forms of meditation under Christianity are pure prayer, as some are mix of both. Some are reflections upon scriptures and such, something monks did for centuries called, you guessed it, meditation. Others are pretty much prayer. It's a mixed bag, just as the entire wikipedia article shows.
