UglyCoyoteNG Rainey_angel81 ah. does he break skin when he bites? You can use the same method, just make sure he's not biting down when he's corrected off, or else the correction will make him bite down harder. the only other alternative is constant supervision between of Hank in the presence of Mike Sometimes, but not often. Alright, thanks. Constant supervistion isnt going to be happening.. Speaking of dog training, I don't belive its nessisary, ever, to SHOCK your dog. Especialy when it rolls around yelping and such. My uncles uses it, and unless your a professional German Shorthair trainer, you might as well not even say you disagree. I hate it when people are so friggin' opinionated you can't have an opinion =_= I think e-collar is necessary for the training of hunting dogs. We use it in Search and Rescue, because the does are never allowed to go crittering, which more than half the dogs have strong prey drive. But everyone is allowed their opinion. I was against it at first, but the only time it is used on my dog is when she goes off after a squirrel during a search and no other time

I don't like shock collars either..... I can always get my dogs attention by yelling out his name.

However, the shock collar is mainly used for behavior modification. It's a highly useful tool for those stubborn doggies that just won't listen..... And.....geez. o.o We've been doing some MAJOR chatting in here. And yet.....nobody seems to mind, so we might as well keep on.

There is a differance between discussing a subject and chatting. razz So I don't think the mods actually care as long as people stay on subject and not start using a thread like this to hangout.

There's a couple that breed german shepherds and use the tri-tronics collar, which is for large dogs and a medium to high range of voltage. The sores on the neck come from mostly the metal tips rubbing against the skin, than from the stimulation itself, but I guess the woman had kept the e-collar on for 36 hours on this dog and had used the collar at 100, which I've never heard a dog have to be on before. Anyway. the dog came in with a split neck, and she had to be put under to get it stapled and everything. I took a picture and blew it up to show people the improper use of the E-collar

After not posting on here for at least 6 months, that I am aware of, I just wanted to say.....that I am alive. Just, I temporarily lost my interest in the furry subculture after coming to a conclusion of sorts. Now that I've calmed down about it, I'm good. It feels good to be back, that's for sure. I'm not going to be as active on here, or for that matter, on Gaia entirely, as I used to be(blame MySpace)....but I'll try to get on from time to time lol. So......yea.....Nie is back!! *waves little flag*

Wow, it's been a while since I last got on. Do any of you remember me? smile
I got really bored, so I decided to come back to Gaia and just hang out, which is what this place is for anyway. Let me see if I can snag some clothes........>> Or possibly mooch them from someone.

Rainey_angel81 Dogs are returning to homes this wednesday. I personally don't think 2 of the dogs are ready, but we have done miracles in 2 days time. I also had a fight with the boxer today. We were correcting him for biting my hands when I put his pinch collar on, on the last correction, he decided he;d had enough and came up at my face. So we had a nice little tussle which ended up with him down on the ground and a nice little tooth hole in my forearm. fun stuff >.> I don';t mind being bitten, but it does get the adrenaline pumping and left me drained after that You have all your shots, right? I hope you cleaned and treated the wound and watched it for infection too. Having spent half a week in a hospital because I let an itch turn into an abcess, maybe I'm overreacting, but please, take care of yourself. sad

I *do* remember you, by name only, and nothing else. blaugh I remember how often I used to talk to Dante, Kakarotto-san, Affie, Kogie, and Wolfen_Spirit on here, too. For the most part, I talked to the lot of them outside of Gaia as well. Man, I need to get on Msn messenger and talk to Affie....indeed. And call Kogie.

Agility sucked a** tonight. My poor dog was trying her hardest to take my cues but I kept messing up. I felt sorry for her, But I gave her double jackpot at the end for putting up with my crap tonight

I bid my fond farewells to my home this morning as I load up my dad's SUV with stuff to move up to Eau Claire, into the house with my friends. I can't say I'm in the greatest of moods right now, as this week home has made me remember what I love most about being home. But, I gotta move out sometime, and the sooner the better. I just wish my dad would stop nagging me for like ten minutes. I don't think I'll be on tonight, not sure if I'll be on tomorrow either, but we'll see. I'll be back once I'm settled in, that's for sure.
See you all soon. Probably the next time I'm on, I'll be in my new place, homesick xp
